V...that is a great thing to start early. Our mornings used to be horrible with fights over clothes. Now, the last thing they do is pick out their clothes for the next day and when they wake up they easily get dressed!

That is true, Monica can be our group guide!:goodvibes

Deb, I am downloading pics for you...so you can see Taylor's happy face when she learned about the cruise!:confused3

YEAH! Thanks Kaylee....I'm looking forward to seeing them. Sorry things didn't go exactly the way you had wanted on Christmas morning, but life is what happens to us while we're busy making other plans. You did the best you could and then life took over. It's all good.

Hi, getting ready to go off to the hospital.

Don is with Daniel in Allentown PA watching him in a three day bowling tournament. Then Daniel is off to NJ to bowl for 2 days. He will be home on Sunday...only to leave again on Tuesday for the Orange Bowl in Miami.

I wish my life were as tough as my kids.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Vanessa and Annie are at work tonight. Gretchen is at the mall with a friend.

I know 2008 is going to be a better year for me....2007 was pretty terrible and I had expected great things because of the number 7....nope.....so 08 has to be great.

Is Feb 10 the 90 day out???

Sorry 2007 was not a good year for you:hug:
It was a great year for me in some very important ways that I will never forget , My DD was married and I became a GRANDMOTHER for the very first time to a beautiful little girl. I also became 50:eek: Not so sure if that was good or not:rolleyes:

for those who frequent DL...are Chip and Dale's Treehouse and Goofy's playhouse worth seeing or are they skipable? Also, is Tarzan's Treehouse the same as the Robinson?

I can't even think where Chip & Dale's is. I'll look it up and let ya know what I find. Goofy's play house is in Toon Town, and for most people I'd say it's not worth it, but with Sam (do you ever call her that?) and Haley at their ages I'd suggest seeing it. We go about 1 out of 4 visits to Dland now, our kids are getting too old for that section of the park, Roger Rabit's ride their is well worth it, but get a fass pass. I can walk you thru the best course, where and what to fastpass and see characters, etc... Wilson and I use what we call WPS, it's like GPS, but moved by Wilson. I'll make sure we talk on the ship about the way to tackle the park. You may even want to look into one of the tours. We did one a few years back and got our moneys worth not waiting and having priority on every ride and character greet. (and they know who will be where and when)

Lisa I was hoping to catch you or Deb before too long, I'm signing up for dietstogo online and wanted to offer the refferal to either of you. First person to pm me their name gets the refferal. On your mark get set GO:woohoo:

I got a terrible cholestrol (417) report last week at my doctors appt, so I'm forced on a diet and then retest blood in 3 months. I'm sure I'll end up on drugs for it, but this way I'm being forced to deal with the problem of not eating well.

Paul is going to diet with me and has promised lots of new clothes for the skinny me....wish us luck

Our daughter bought her sons(9 & 7 yrs)laptops as there is such a problem at homework time. They also bought a Wii for a family present(they have 2 young girls too)

The 9 year old didn't want his laptop and created. It wasn't on his list and he has to have things on his list. He has some problems and probably has Aspergers. He wanted them to take it back and get something that was on his list that he didn't get. Everyone was upset - they thought it would be a great surprise as he had actually mentioned getting one, though unfortunately didn't put it on his list!!!:confused3 With some gentle psychology he was actually playing on the lapotop and talking about it by the time we left. He just loved the Wii and I think he will get to play on that the most.

Sorry things didn't go quite as expected, life's like that sometimes isn't it. Glad you were all able to put a positive spin on it though.
This must have been a difficult Christmas for you. I do hope you can sort things olut with your mom sometime.

Thanks. I hope so too!

:lmao: Our senior moments!! We're going to forget where our lifeboat is located aren't we?

It's okay to quote myself since I'm asking you a question, right :confused3 :rotfl2:

Deb, pm me with your full name so I can use your name when I sign up for dietstogo.....:yay:

Looks like our cruise is sold out again! I am never getting out of the lifeboat!

Good Luck to you and Paul...Nan, I send you a PM....Lisa is no longer ordering from them so she no longer needs the referral discount....but I still have a LONG way to go, so I could certainly use it. Thanks.

If you stick with it, it will work. When I have to cheat for holidays, etc. I watch portion control and count calories. I'm still losing weight. Try it and see if you like it, then let me and Lisa know what you think.

Nan, it's ok to quote yourself to ask a question.

It's ok to quote yourself even if you're not asking a question....I do it all the time, so do some others.

Nan, you're in good company and you're ok!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We just got home from my sister in laws and we had a great time but it was filled with mishaps. First it started with my BIL, Eric...he was sitting on the couch, took a big stretch, which caused him to knock a lamp over on a sofa table that was behind him. The lamp fell onto the table which had protective glass on it. The glass broke and then gouged the cherry table top. OK, we get that cleaned up and Eric promises to replace the glass and have a professional refinish the table. Next my DH's nephew has some new toy and while we're all distracted we find him scraping it on the floor...normally would not be big deal but my BIL and SIL just had brand new wood floors put in, to the tune of $8K and they really didn't appreciate the nice new scratches he just put on them. So, what else could go wrong?! Well, my MIL puts her cup of eggnog on their grand piano so that she can put her jacket on....somehow she spills it and it goes everywhere INTO the piano...the felt hammers, the cords, everything. :scared1: And since my DS had just finished playing Jingle Bells, the top was open. So we then we realized it's also in the electronic componentry (it's also personless piano player, not sure what they're called, all I know is it cost about $15K). At that point I'm catching the vibe that my BIL is just wanting us to all leave. It was awful. To add insult to injury on the way out, my DH trips on a sprinkler head in their front yard and breaks it. A minor thing, but adding it to the rest, it just made the whole evening more painful for our hosts. Needless to say, the rest of us had a great time!

Well, I hope everyone had a blessed and happy Christmas!!! Looking forward to seeing you all in the new year!!!! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh! I'll bet they never offer to host the Christmas gathering again! :scared1:

Hollytyler

Thank for showing the photos of Tyler as it is good to see also lovely toys!!

I will tell you about last Sat The Pink Fire Engine later this week okay.

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2
GREAT! Still looking forward to hearing about it. :goodvibes

Marilyn and Gydell....if we're stuck in the lifeboats, can we skip the lifeboat drill? Then we could have the pool all to ourselves while the room assignments do the drill.....and we can leave a breadcrumb trail back to the lifeboat so we can find it again after the pool. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Our Christmas was nice but hectic..

Christmas Eve my mom and sister came over after church and we exchanged gifts, Just had appetizers. Sophia kept asking when they were leaving so Santa could come!

Christmas day John's dad, brother sister and niece came at 11:00 (or so they were late) for brunch. Egg and sausage casserole, fresh fruit,. cinn muffins, brunch punch. They stay all day!

5:00 My family- mom, sister, Aunt and cousins come for dinner. My other sister from Williamsburg, VA flew in at 8:00pm so my mom went to get her and her two kids and bring her back to the house. More Chaos ensues!!

11:00pm everyone leaves and we try to straighten up the house!

Today we will exchange gifts with my sister from Wiliamsburg, and tomorrow my dad, his wife and my sisters will come over for dinner and we will have Christmas with him!

Aren't the holidays great???
Oh my gosh, BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! But I'm sure Sophia loves having tons of chances to open more gifts! I know I sure did when I was a kid. :yay:

I am with PJ, for those who want to exchange emails, addresses, etc, we should make something up and we could put them all in the fish extenders or something.
DITTO! You know there are a bunch of us who will be e-mailing & calling everybody like crazy! :rolleyes1

Glad to hear, that for the most part, everyone has had a great Christmas:goodvibes And those not so expected moments...well they will make great family stories to re-tell on many a Christmas in the future!

I had a nice morning, Christmas brunch and afternoon with my DD and SIL and then they were off to visit other family members. This was my quietest Xmas ever, for many reasons. Christmas has been hard since 6 yrs ago when we found out a couple days before Xmas that my DH's cancer was back, and lost him a month later. It seemed especially hard this year with the back pain I experienced over the last few weeks (I am so much better now) because when my husband got sick again, it started with back pain, as he had a tumour in his spine, but for a month the doctor's thought it was just back strain, so of course this has reminded me of him even more, and all of the pain he went through. This is also the first year ever that I have not had both of my children home for Xmas, my son is in Alberta with his girlfriend and my new granddaughter and has had to work through the holidays. It is also the first year ever that I have not shared the day with my mom.We had a falling out a few months ago, and have not seen each other since. It is so unlike us, I still can't believe it has happened, but we are planning on getting together and trying to talk it out in January. She and my dad had the extended family at their house for Xmas dinner, as usual, so they did not spend the day alone, that would have made me very sad.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so gloomy! I am really looking forward to starting a new year and going on this cruise! My daughter keeps asking me if she can join me, while I would love for her to, we both know it won't actually happen, she has a new husband, new house and doesn't get two weeks vacation yet from her job! We are talking about maybe the three of us going to WDW for a week next Dec!

Happy Holidays everyone! I am enjoying reading all of your stories:goodvibes

 Sounds like one of those painfully funny movie stories!!! How awful for them, but I did chuckle a little. Don't suppose you will all be going there again.
Oh my gosh! I'll bet they never offer to host the Christmas gathering again! :scared1:
Nope, I'm pretty sure BIL Rob will not want us all there again, which is a shame. I spoke to my MIL today and she was crying about it, she feels really bad about the piano. I then called my SIL and BIL because I knoew they don't want her to be upset about the whole thing. I just got back from my MIL's house and she said they called her and she feels better but she told them she wants to pay for whatever is necessary to make the piano right again, she said that's what will ulimately make her feel better. I feel bad for everyone!!! Oh well, as I said last night....Merry Christmas!!!

Oh no, but what is cup of eggnog?
I never thought about it, but it must be an American thing?!?! Here is the offical description of eggnog....

Eggnog is a libation traditionally served during the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. Eggnog is made from cream or milk, egg yolks and sugar. Those who imbibe may choose to add brandy or rum to their eggnog. Those who drink eggnog are customarily supposed to drink to each other's health, though after a few glasses of spiked eggnog, most will drink to anything.

Eggnog, which translates to "egg inside a cup", actually has a bit of history behind it. It was derived from an English drink called posset. The posset contained eggs, cream and wine or other spirits. It was only a matter of time before it took on a life of its own.

Eggnog became popular in the early 19th century and was mostly enjoyed by the upper classes. During that time in London, only those who were well-to-do could afford to drink a glass of milk, let alone serve it at parties. Revelers enjoyed mixing it with a little alcohol to give it an extra "kick."

In the United States, eggnog was mostly enjoyed by those who owned milk cows. At the time, there were quite a few American dairy farmers, so eggnog was enjoyed by people of all backgrounds. Since rum was relatively inexpensive and very easy to come by, it was often mixed into the eggnog.

No one is quite sure how eggnog became the beverage of choice for holiday revelers, but it has been noted that even two hundred years ago, hosts of holiday parties would make up large batches of the concoction for their guests to enjoy throughout the evening. It is said that George Washington himself enjoyed eggnog on many occasions. His preference was to drink it with rum, rye whiskey and sherry. When he was drinking eggnog there were very few people who could keep up with him —- or who would even try.

Nowadays most people don't make up their own eggnog. They purchase a carton or a case at their local supermarket or liquor store and spike it once their guests have arrived. It's a convenient, delicious way to toast to good health and good friends. It's lucky for us that eggnog caught on!

Once I firm up my car service ressies....I'll start on my lists. I have Champagne Girls lists and Hight Tea lists and a who's coming and who cancelled list to give to Lisa who will update her list and give the master list to Noel. I think we can even put email address on the master list if anyone wants to do that too. We can put a copy of the master list in everyone's fish extenders also.

Sounds good to me!!! Just PM me and I'll update accordingly!

I also want a lifeboat that can look in someone's window since I need a TV on to fall asleep. Should we request which location we want?
