John and I are smokers....we just made an appointmet to get zapped.....a cold laser treatment.....to quit. This will be our third try at it. We're scheduled for the afternoon on New Year's Eve. So we hope to be smoke free in 08. Wish us luck!!!

Good luck with the laser treatment. I have heard it is terribly difficult to quit smoking and my father was proof positive on that subject. Is this the treatment?

We fell below 5 months!!!! It is only 4 months and 4 weeks until we cruise (ok, the difference between that and 5 months I don't really get, but I'll take it )

Woo Hoo! Just officially booked our first DCL cruise! 3 nights on Jan 10th! Now we will be CC members at the time of booking excursions!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Not sure if we would have had a hard time getting reservations for things or not but we (OK fine, I) decided that I didn't want to take the chance. From this thread alone I would have to assume that the majority of people onboard are repeat cruisers.

Now you'll be a repeat cruiser too in May! Have a fantastic time on board and when you don't want to get off, just know that you have a long one in a few short months!

Hi Noel, That's exactly what we're doing. Here's where we're doing it:

It's located in New Jersey, but since we're right next to the border, it's close enough for us. The cold laser on specific acupuncture points releases endorphins so you think you just had a cigarette and don't want one. At least, that's what they say.

Our family doctor said as long as we keep trying to quit, it will take eventually. Usually 3-4 tries. This will be our third and hopefully our last. We tell all the kids, just don't start and you'll never have to go through quitting. It is very difficult, but we're determined!

Too funny V....just for the record, while at the beach, I never left my butts in the sand....we always take a cup and put sand in it and use that, then throw it away when we leave. I think some smokers can be very rude about it. We don't smoke in front of non-smokers either. We're very careful about respecting other people. I know it's a nasty dirty smelly habit that can be harmful to others as well. We always try to be considerate of that.

But we won't have to worry about that because in a few short weeks, we'll be non-smokers too!

For me the hardest has been not letting it slip to the kids. After Christmas morning it will be so exciting all over again once they learn about the cruise and they get all the goodies I have collected for them to open on their treasure hunt that morning.

Right - a few highlights from our holiday.


John had a little brain storm and on the Saturday before the cruise we bought into DVC!!! Now, this is the guy who isn't really into Disney, so I am still amazed.

Sounds like you had a grand time....but this last comment sure is the TOPPER! Congratulations
