May 10, 2008 Ship of Thieves! Stealing the Magic..AGAIN!!! Panama Canal FL to CA!!! Part 7

Well . . .

Here is what I decided to do . . .

Booked the last two nights (27 and 28 at SSR)

Waitlisted for the other two . . .

Booked air on Southwest, who has a very liberal cancellation policy I was not aware of . . .

If our waitlist does not come through, I will cancel our flights, and we can plan another trip flying Southwest, and we must do it before June of '08 since I had to borrow some points for this trip to make it happen.

I have never been so spur of the moment EVER on a trip to WDW, so we will see. From the way it is sounding, Sunday may be the only day in the parks that won't be crowded! I could NOT even get a cash ressie other than over $400 a night at a deluxe resort! No way!

If it does not work out, I will cancel, and we may end up going down in January.

This is one of the most spur of the moment trips I've ever taken too. I booked in late August. I can't even imagine booking a couple of weeks before!! I hope you guys can make it!

Well, Olivia is 18 months old today. I can't believe how quickly that has gone by. I won't be up too late tonight. We have to leave the house by 8 am to get to the beauty parlor on time. I still can't believe my BABY brother is getting married tomorrow (ok, he's 26, but he'll always be my baby brother!)

I had pm'd her a couple days ago about the fish extenders but if it were back in Mid Feb I wasn't around then due to my grandfather's passing. Sorry that I caused confusion. I missed that in my quick pass through of all the posts. I don't want to cause confusion if it were already taken care of.

Didn't Ken (kpros) do yours too? He did ours for the Ist Magical Med and you are right - they were very light weightbut durable and unique. I'm sure Ken would give you his source. There were several people that made a donation to the total cost (they said that was easier than packing and/or shipping fish extender gifties-lol). Several donated to the lime green wrist band cost too.

I think those sound great...My friend won't be crushed if she doesn't have to do them..... I vote for the ones we can customize!

The beaded lanyards sound wonderful, but I don't know if my DH would wear a beaded one. On the TA cruise we had some made that were so light that you didn't even know you were wearing them. If you decide against the beaded ones and no one is going to be doing them then I can do them. The cost is about $1.50 each or less if we order 200 of them. We ordered more than that on the TA I think. We had several people volunteer to help with the cost but can always charge each person. They said - Taking the Magic to the Med. We could have -Ship of Thieves on ours. Somebody let me know if no one else is doing these and if you want me to do them. I liked them because you knew the person wearing them was a disser even if you didn't know them.

Depends on how many we need but no more then $5 each. She hand makes them so I'm sure we can find out about kid sizing and make it happen. But if someone is already arranging for lanyards I don't want to step on toes so would like to find out from them first what they have planned.



That's cool I just wanted to make the offer as I know I liked having a lanyard for my room key.



I'll Pm cdnmickeylover and see if she is ok and find out if she was able to get any info.



I'm all for the yankee's losing as I see we have people routing for them to lose! But not sure if anyone else here is a Red Sox fan but I am, I also route for anyone who beats the Yankees


I'm so jealous of those who are heading to WDW soon I just got back on the 18th of September and I miss it already.

Not to worry, I just didn't want people duplicating efforts/expenses. We by no means have anything finalized for the 'gift teams' as we are pretty much waiting till after Feb pay up date for a more acurate 'head count'. And I didn't remember if lanyards and wrist bands were still in the 'order and pay the organizer' catagory, of if they'd been absorbed by a team. But I do know calmom is aware of what all the team gifts are.

So Marilyn is correct with regards to the lanyards - this was something that cdnmickeylover was overseeing. No team has picked lanyards. On page one, it gives you info on the wrist bands. No team has picked wrist bands.

I stopped putting the teams together as it was getting a bit confusing with some people canceling the cruise. As for as ideas, I know Day 1 has some set ideas, Geek squad is set, May 16 panama canal crossing (my team!) is pretty set on their idea.

Would it help at this point to regroup or should I wait another month or so?

So I'm sure I'll have to shut all the windows and turn the air conditioning back on. And it's so humid that my cardboard skeleton Halloween decoration on my wall curled during the night from the moisture.

I am just a plain old sports fan. I like good competition no matter what league it is in, but my heart belongs in Ohio.

Suitcase from December cruise finally cleaned out and clothes I won't wear before this month's cruise packed, doing a load of disney only clothes to make them fresh, been in drawers for months, then I only have fancy clothes to pack at the last minute.

I am usually packed a month or more in advance, no real feeling of urgency this time. I am sure it's not the fact that I am taking four newbies who want to do everything and what started as just a few shared meals is now spending most of our seven days together. I will need DIS meets just to be around people who get that WDW is not a seven day vacation that happens only once, and understand that there is never enough time, in one vacation, to "do it all."

We pack and do laundry the night before. No sense of urgency here until 48 hours before departure. Keep that in mind Penny next May.

I vote for your sanity that we wait until Feb and have a solid go list. It would be hard to have to fill in and fill up if people drop out and that doesn't seem like you should be in that spot. My .20 cents.
