I think the very earliest we could arrive at DTD would be 6.30pm and that would be with just a quick wash and brush up and change(hopefully into shorts like we did last year!! If your plans are made for earlier we wouldn't rush so much, but still go there anyway as it was a great start to the vacation last year!

I sure wish Tyler were here to see what's going on at our house today! I'm not particularly enjoying it though because there's a man drilling through the concrete foundation to the crawlspace below and my teeth vibrate the whole time he drills (because he's only about 20 feet from me), but the rest of it is pretty exciting! My lead water pipes are being replaced with copper, so there are 2 utility trucks in front of my house, a digger sort of construction truck digging up my whole yard along where the pipe runs, a dumptruck to put the dirt in, and the road is blocked with a "utility work ahead" sign. :scared1:

Oh yes, that would be so exciting for a little boy to watch.

I don't recall whether a time was set yet. But I'd love to see you and for you to be able to meet Tyler (since he won't be on this cruise), so I hope it works out!

Speaking of that week.....my plan is to book my flights this afternoon. I'm searching different airlines and think I found a great deal. Looks like I'll be flying into Tampa spending a few days with Heather and her family, then taking Tyler on a 3-night Disney cruise (I hope to book tomorrow), and will fly home from Orlando. 3 nights is too short of a cruise for me, but I can handle it, knowing I have the big 15 day one soon after! And Tyler won't care about the number of days, he's just desperate to be on the ship and get his DCL fix! :rotfl: But I'm not going to get too excited until I have everything booked, hopefully by tomorrow (flights and cruise).

You kids hear about this:

Beginning this fall, Disney Cruise Line will introduce Onboard Airline Check-In, a new service that enables qualified guests to check-in for their post-cruise flights while on board the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder, eliminating the need to do so at Orlando International Airport. Guests participating in Onboard Airline Check-In will not have to collect their luggage upon debarkation, since checked luggage will be transported directly from the ship to the guest's flight. While on the cruise, guests' boarding passes will be delivered to their staterooms the day prior to disembarkation. Upon the ship's return to Port Canaveral, participating guests can proceed directly to Customs and then to Orlando International Airport where they bypass check-in and continue straight to airport security and on to their assigned departure gate. To take advantage of this service, guests will need to meet certain requirements and be booked on a domestic flight on one of the seven participating air carriers: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, or United Airlines/Ted. Eligible guests will be able to enroll for Onboard Airline Check-in by completing pre-registration information received at Orlando International Airport or one of the Disney Cruise Line Hospitality Desks at the Walt Disney World Resort and turning it in during check-in at Port Canaveral.

Just remember you won't have access to your checked luggage that morning, so anything you have with you (thinking toiletries here) will have to pass inspection for carry on luggage.

.

All sounds good, except we get off the ship in LA!

Next cruise maybe!

Lisa, think of me as you walk along the shore this weekend and know that my heart belongs in Bethany too!

John, GO TRIBE....hope your team wins tonight and you have a great time at the game!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks Deb!

Glad to see you are doing better and got your baby back home!

Woooohoooo! Hawaii here we come in 2011 - forget about the Contemporary - we need to save our pennies for Hawaii!

When are you planning to fly home?

One has to be properly attired for answering the telephone you know!!!:lmao:

So, you can prepay, but would you get an enverlope just the same at the end of the cruise so you can add a little more if you wish?

you can definately add more if you want to. If you don't want to do cash, you just stop by Guest Relations and ask them to change the amount.

That is a long day's work Monica.

Luckily we have 2 shifts....1 is 830a-530p and the other is 1015a-715p (I don't think I'd be able to make it the entire day!

Marilyn - I can always hang out even if others have to leave to say HI!:wave2:

perhaps this will work for us in LA? Or even pre cruise to the ship would be great. There is still time and we can hope for the best.

Marilyn -

I've had 2 different spa treatments on the ship - 1st time was a Swedish Massage (which I've had on land too several times....all I can say is AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH), and the last time I had the Hot Stone Massage. I enjoyed both, but I think I'll still with the Swedish. I can't do Deep Tissue as I bruise easily.

I've heard wonders about the Rainforest room on the ship - but I have a very sensitive nose (smells lead to migraines for me) so I've been scared to give this a try.

Hope this helps!

I also have mirgraines triggered by scents. Lavender during a massage is the worst and I have that all over in my garden. But I digress. I did not find the rainforest smells a problem. So you may want to try it? Perhaps we can tag team together to support each other in our time of mirgraine need. If all else fails we'll just leave and have a DOD :rolleyes1

It would save of travel time, gas $, wear & tear on the car, less of the office BS, PLUS - I wouldn't have to worry about how I look (but would still get dressed each day-can't stay in my jammies :lmao: ), and I could work on my scrapbooks in between calls!!!!

Ohhhhh, but the jammies to work are the best perk!!! I use my 20 foot comute as my me time :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: our office is in the backyard so I have to walk out the backdoor to the office.

My favorite thing when I started working at home was I could do laundry during the day and have more me time in the evening. okay, I used to garden like a fiend too, I would just go out my door and weed to decompress.

My son in law works from home. He just locks his office door and only emerges for lunch and at the end of his work day.

It's harder when the kids are home to completely lock myself in. Now when they need homework help they come wandering out to find me. But I'm so glad to be at home little disruptions are an easy price to pay to not have to deal with an office. When they were babies and I had a full time nanny I was in my home office just like that, out only for lunch and back in until Paul arrived home from work 5-6pm.

That would be nice.:) We will have to see when your big meet is planned for. that day. If you all meet lunch time it could be a loooooooong wait!:rotfl:

OK.....after about 2 hours, the noise is getting to me. I don't think they need me to stick around, they just need to be able to get in and out. So I'm headed out to run some errands and will just postpone my homework until after they're gone and it's quiet again. :thumbsup2

What a great idea!! I have heard also that if we/I explain to the Vista Spa staff what my deal is that they'll let me walk back there and see what it's like before I commit myself to anything. I'm willing tho to pay for a 1 day pass, and if I can't handle it....it's off to the bar/pool/hot tub for me (I'll meet you there)!! :lmao:

I'm looking forward to be able to do laundry during the day too!

Waiting around DTD is NO problem what so ever! I have often gone there with my book for a smackerel of something, then hung out there for hours - shopping, reading and people watching.

Woooohoooo! Hawaii here we come in 2011 - forget about the Contemporary - we need to save our pennies for Hawaii!

Are you reading this KIM????????

:cool1: OK, I'm not Kim, but I am "ditto'ng" John, WOOOOHOOOO! I read that earlier today (actually read a rumor about it yesterday) and called my sister with the news. My step dad is Hawaiian and my step sister and adorable niece live in the family home on Oahu. As much as I love visiting them (since the accomodations are free) it can be too much in the house with everyone. Now, I get to visit my sister and niece and family AND enjoy the beauty of Disney hospitality! I am so excited. Forget Grand Californian, we are going for Hawaii points! And, the area they are putting this resort is beautiful.

Oh, just had an idea....wonder if this is going to be the first "connection" between Disney and Hawaii meaning that the next announcement will be that one of the ships will soon be cruising to Hawaii!!!

Goodnight all. May go out to the seaside tomorrow but will have to see what time we can set off as I have an appointment with the practice nurse for a blood pressure check in the morning.

Have a good evening.
