ok, so I return from lunch with a message from HR....I am still under consideration, that there were several other candidates under review.


I am happy I still have a chance but booo hooo!!

I am so happy to hear you are still under consideration!! All fingers and toes crossed for you to be the "one" chosen.
 
I was the queen at tantrums at our house and my Dad called them SPECIALS. Not so harsh as TANTRUM but I still knew what he meant :sad2: and if I did not get my act together soon, there would be penalties.

They did not spank (very progressive for the 50's) they took away privileges and possessions. They always seemed to know what my FAVORITE toy was and it would be put in the attic.

My dolls were my children. I had been in that attic so knew how hot it was in the summer and how cold in the winter--UPSTATE NEW YORK!!. BUT I was not afraid that the doll would melt or crack, I was afraid she would DIE of heat stroke or hypothermia.:eek:

I was never spanked as a child in the 1950's nor were my siblings. My mother was the "queen" of making your feel terrible with words. She would also restrict us from doing certain things depending on the seriousness of our misdemeanors. I don't ever remember her taking away possessions, just privileges.
 
My post op appt. went very well. My surgeon told me everything looks great and I should be able to go back to all my normal habits. Hooray!!!

She also told me I could pick up my gall stone from the hospital pathology department if I so desired. Yuck!!
 

well I am bummed....the job posting is down! :(

Still no word from the HR lady. I would have at least thought she would call me back.

V, in the gvt. job I have they don't call you. They send you a job offer in writing, when they get around to it.
 
I'm going to be buying a few bits I have learned about on the Dis when we are over in Nov/Dec.

Airborne - can you tell me more about it?

Non drowsy Bonine - I am not sure if I will feel sick onboard or not, but think I might take this for the first day/night.

Downy Wrinkle Release - sounds good.

I would not bother bringing the Bonine. They have it available free (or is that included??) at the Guest Services desk and also right outside the medical facility. You just take what you need.
 
It has been a very busy week and haven't been on. I leave tomarrow for WDW. Pictures when I get back. :wizard: we get picked for a dream!
 
Glad you have something else now....hope Fiorinal works for you - it didn't for me. I also tried the Topamax, but my eyesight started to get blurry so I had to stop it. I'm on Maxalt for my migraines....next step is Imitrex (basically last resort for my migraines).

Maxalt & Imitrex didn't work for me, so I'm hoping Fiorinal does. She gave me only 20 pills to give it a try and told me if it doesn't work, we'll give something else a try until we find something that does work. :thumbsup2 But a co-worker gave me one of her Fiorinals one day when I had a real throbber and in 20 minutes, my migraine was gone. (I know, bad to use somebody else's prescription). Hopefully it continues to work.

One of my friends is on three different meds--small doses of each as each alone does not work. Everyone is different and I am glad that there are different meds so you can each have something that works.

I just know my invoice says 1/30 for the due date. I thought I remember reading something somewhere about it being due earlier than usual on the longer cruises. :confused3


My TA always bumps DCL's due date out a week so that there will be no problems doing online bookings when the 90 day mark rolls around.

Does everyone but me have their flights for the cruise?

Nope--we don't.

Not sure when we are leaving or coming home. For DH to be out of the office for two weeks is a big STRETCH so he will have to see what needs to be done when we get closer and book our flights then. That is how we live. We book our cruises one year out but handle the details closer to the event.

Yippee! Glad to hear your post op appt. went well! But did you go pick up your "souvenir"? :rotfl:

I was born in 1952 and I was spanked. A board that left bruises, a belt, a fly swatter, switches, and the paddles from those paddles that had a ball attached to them that kids play with. It's funny that this subject came up since my DB and I had this discussion the other night. It would be child abuse today. Oh, let's not forget being slapped across the face!

She says I should send a follow up email.....to the two in the dept I interviewed with and CC HR.....

I drafted:
Dear X,


I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me last week to discuss the position of X. I am still very interested in this position and am convinced that my financial and accounting background equips me for the position.
(I say "position" way to much here)

After learning the job description I am confident I have the necessary skills to be an productive member of the department.

any thoughts? Is this overkill?

Sorry to be sooooo flipped out about this...but, I REALLY want this job!

Nope, everyone we know has tickets. We are only a 17 point underdog. I can only hope that is as bad as it gets!

OK, as I understand it you have already sent a thank you and did a follow up call and received a call from them. If I received a third contact from a candidate this soon after the interview I would think they were too needy and going to be high maintenance. I'd start taking another look at the other applicants. JMO

Hold off a bit longer. I know you want the job and it is upper most in your mind but they have other things on their plate.
