This is on my list of books to read....right now re-reading the Left Behind series.

When I gave birth to Mark and Jennifer in 1966 and 1968, I was in the hospital for 3 days. I was able to rest up and gather my strength before I returned home with a newborn. When I gave birth to Samantha in 1985, I was out of the hospital in exactly 24 hours. Times sure change!!

Sometimes here mums and new babies are out of hospital within 6 hours.

When I had Andrew in 1970 we were all in 10 days but it began decreasing from then on. When I had our 3rd, I wanted to stay in as long as possible!!!:lmao:

So the news of the day is that DD and DSIL and both DGKs will be moving to FL around the first of the New Year. I'm so sad about this. I love having them live down the block and rely on them quite a bit. DSILs grandparents are both elderly and sick. There is really no one else in the family able to help them. So Sandi and Joe are thinking of moving there and living with Joe's grandparents in their house to help them out. I'm soooooooo going to miss them. We'll see them everytime we go to FL which is at least 2 to 3 times a year....but it's not the same. I'm so sad.:sad1: :guilty: :sad1:

 Sorry to hear about them moving Deb. It will definitely be an adjustment for you, but that will give you good reason to go to FL more often! :thumbsup2

WOW...I just realized...I'm going to be alone in my neighborhood....mom, Sandi and I live within 5-10 mins. of each other. Mom is gone, bro will be leaving right after the Auction on Oct 20th, then Sandi and family will be leaving after the New Year....I can feel life changing again....drastically! Things will get very quiet...with a lot of free time! More cruises!!!!!! More DIS!!!!!:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
There you go! Great way to look at the situation! Glass half full.

If I already am set up for all of that to buy, do I have to set it up again to sell? (I know a lot about computers, but this is all new to me).

GREAT! You don't have to set up an account then....just set up the item for sale. They will take you through it easily enough.

Does it matter that I have never sold anything before?

Nope....everyone has to start sometime.

Do you know what ebay charges?

I know the fees went up, but I think they're running a sale right now so it's a great time to do it.

Thanks!

Good Luck! Once you get hooked you'll clean out your house and put all the clutter up for sale!!!!

Still have four pages to catch up on, but wanted to share my 'cosmic' dog story.

Just a few weeks after my mother passed (which was just 8 months after my father did), a group of us went up to Sedona for a new-age, woo-woo, metaphysical mumbo-jumbo excursion. That Sunday we had each wandered off to find a meditation spot and I was sitting in the red rocks and thinking about my parents. I realized I'd lost my source of unconditional love and decided it was time to get a dog.**

'Someone' whispered in my ear and suggested I go get a Miniature Schnauzer...TODAY. :confused3

So as we were driving back to the valley that afternoon, I told the girls about my 'message' and said I'd pop by the shelter if we made it back in time. We did, I did, and there was Jock....just waiting for me. He hadn't been there 24 hours yet, and the volunteer told me pure breads usually find homes within 48 hours. We had a lot of happy years together.

**OK, that sounded really strange when I re-read it...but you know what I mean**

.

I don't think it sounds strange just one of those "meant to be" encounters. My GS right after my mother passed remarked to me, "GG (his name for his great-grandmother) said that it is ok that you buried her in the black pants." What so so bizarre it that there was a huge family debate about what she should wear and my GS was not privy to the details. My other GD told me after my sister died, "Don't worry about Karen, Grandma, she and GG are having lots of fun shopping and going to the library. She told me to tell you not to be sad about your decision." GD was also not party of the great family meeting about letting my sister pass. We all have those moments when some higher power passes us a message.

Lisa/disneylover5....I started my first meal from diettogo today. Thanks for the referral....it's more like real food and tastes much better. I only ordered two weeks of the B, L & D and some snacks. It cost me $130 per week, that's not bad.

I've been on Nutrisystem since the first of the month and I'll weigh myself on the first of next month. I don't want to weigh too often and get bummed if I didn't lose anything. I'd rather do it from month to month and keep track.

I like the diettogo menu, so I'm hoping it works!:cutie: ;) :cutie:
Deb, I'm the same way you are about weighing. I know people who weigh every day and have a roller coaster emotional ride because weight will naturally fluctuate from day to day, even week to week if you have bloating issues during that time of the month. Of course I'm no doctor....just my personal experience. :goodvibes I try to only weigh myself once a month too (but sometimes am guilty of doing it twice a month).

I'm going to be buying a few bits I have learned about on the Dis when we are over in Nov/Dec.

Airborne - can you tell me more about it?

Non drowsy Bonine - I am not sure if I will feel sick onboard or not, but think I might take this for the first day/night.

Downy Wrinkle Release - sounds good.

I just got an email from dinnermates on my first cruise in 2001...we cruised with them again in 2006. They said they're booked for Sept 2008 and did we want to join them.....hmmmmmm cruising in May 08 can I do Sept 08 and Jan 09 also???????????? Decisions Decisions!!!!!!!!!! Sweetie, what do you say????? Want to cruise with Kat and Jim again????????:cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2:
DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! :yay: :rotfl2:

A question for all of you experienced e-bayers . . .

I have two tickets to all of the Indians playoff games (including the World Series). I will not be able to go to all of the games, and would like to sell some of my tickets to make my money back, and make some extra from crazy fans if possible. The World Series tickets in particular are really expensive ($175 - $200 each).

Should I try to sell the games I do not go to on ebay?

I have bought stuff on ebay, but never sold a thing - should I do this?
Yes, yes, yes! You'll make a good chunk of money! :goodvibes

I swear by Airborne! Here's their website which will tell you all about it: http://www.airbornehealth.com/

Tyler and I take it during times when we're around lots of sick people during the winter and usually never get sick. Last winter, all the kids in day care went through 3 rounds of colds and Tyler didn't catch one. His dad and stepmom had a nasty sinus infection, first his dad then stepmom, but Tyler didn't get it. Everybody at my office was sick 3 or 4 times, but I never got sick. Or if we did, it wouldn't be any more than 2 days of mild sniffles. In fact, we're both starting to get some sort of cold with congestion, so I told him we need to start taking Airborne so knock it out and prevent it from turning into something more. But I'll warn you, it tastes absolutely horrible. It's a tablet you drop in a cup of water (I use as little water as possible so I have less to drink), it bubbles until it dissolves, then you drink it. I have to plug my nose to force it down. Tyler doesn't mind the orange flavor....he doesn't like it, but he told me he likes it better than getting sick! :goodvibes

1. We use Airborne on all our flights. From the website where you can get more information:

http://www.airbornehealth.com/about_index.php

Airborne is the best-selling herbal health formula that boosts your immune system to help your body combat germs. It was created by a former second-grade school teacher, Victoria Knight-McDowell, who was constantly exposed to germs in her classroom. Its unique blend of herbal extracts, vitamins, electrolytes, amino acids and antioxidants helps give your body a fighting chance when exposed to germ-filled environments.
Airborne effervescent tablets are available in Original Zesty Orange, Lemon-Lime and Pink Grapefruit. And Airborne Gummi Lozenges come in six natural flavors to help soothe throats.

Look for our two newest products, Airborne Nighttime and Airborne On-the-Go.

Airborne Nighttime comes in a hot apple cider flavor. It's made with the same immune-boosting formula as original Airborne, but with added ingredients to help you get a good night's rest.

Airborne On-the-Go with lemon-lime flavor also gives you the very same immune-boosting formula as original Airborne, but it comes in a powdered form in convenient, single-serve packets. Airborne On-the-Go can be poured directly into bottled water, so you can take it anywhere you go!

2. With respect to non drowsy bonnine, I have never used it but here is some info that I was emailed by a fellow DISer.

Bonine, Dramamine Less Drowsy are both antivert (meclizine). Take a half dose at home to see if it knocks you out. It is likely that this amount will be enough if you are not prone to motion sickness.

3. I ordered my Downy Wrinkle Release (travel size) online so I will let you know how well it works after the NYE cruise.

Loved this story! I've had Schanuzers in my life and have loved each one. We had a miniture one and a standard. If I ever decide to get a dog for myself, this is the only kind of dog I want.

You are probably not old enough to remember but it tastes a lot like Tang!!

John:

I would say go for it selling those tickets on ebay. Many Seattle fans did that for the superbowl tickets a few years ago and they were going for crazy amounts! Unfortunately for Scott and my dad, that meant that they were outnumbered horribly at the superbowl and the "Seahawks" section was all black and gold :sad2:

So I'm home from work early today. I got a call from school at 10:30 this morning, telling me Tyler fell in the bathroom and knocked his tooth out, they put it in milk, and suggested I take him to the dentist immediately so it could be put back in. Believe it or not, this story has a happy ending. The whole way to his school, I'm almost crying, thinking of how much his mouth must hurt, etc. Well, I get to school, go through the process of signing in and getting a visitor's pass, going through the locked doors, etc. (not so patiently). I get to his room and see him sitting at a table with the other kids, calmly doing whatever they were supposed to be doing. :confused3 I was a bit confused! I expected crying, bloody shirt, etc. :lmao: Sure didn't expect to see a happy kid, calmly saying, "Hi mom! Wanna see my tooth?"

WELL.....it turns out the tooth he "knocked out" was one that was already loose (had been wiggling for about 2 weeks), so he basically just accidentally helped his loose tooth come out sooner! :rotfl2: The reason it was bleeding is because it wasn't completely ready to come out, wasn't really loose, and it scared him a little seeing all the blood and feeling his tooth come out, and did hurt a bit (but not for long).

So I called the dentist back and told the receptionist that we didn't need that emergency appointment after all. She just laughed. :lmao: Now, had Tyler told the teachers it was his loose tooth, I doubt they would have called me or bothered putting it in milk because it sure can't be put back in! :rotfl: But of course he wasn't thinking because he was just scared...totally understandible. So I left him at school, tooth safely tucked away in his backpack in an envelope so he can show his afternoon kindergarten teacher.

Great story for his baby book!!!

Off to my post op appt. with the surgeon. A lot of acorns all falling off the trees today and driving me nuts!!

They only ever showed the 1st series over here, so I had to buy the DVDs to find out what happened!

What is interesting is that the guy that played Michael (Brendan Fahr) and the guy that played Jessie, who was Isabel's DH (Adam Rodriquez) are both now on CSI Miami together.
