I love all those too . . . my first book I read as a kid though was "The Caves of Steel" by Isaac Asimov. Loved his books, Heinlein, Niven, Pournelle, I could go on, and on . . .

Currently reading Terry Brooks Prelude to The "Shanara" series - "Armageddon's Children".

I think I had told you that we have a couple of Brooks' Shanara series signed by him.

Walking the bases after the game . . .

I am too Noel, but to me there is a decided difference between being "clean" and being messy or cluttered. Our house is for the most part always "clean", and I can't stand what I would call a dirty house.

Clutter though - toys, clothes, shoes, and the like, I can live with. To me it makes our house a home rather than a museum. Sometimes Amy worries if we have company that they will think we are "messy" people - my response alway is this is what and who we are, and yes, we have kids that leave toys and stuff lying about. So be it. I won't pretend to be someone that we aren't, and when I get the time we will get the clutter put away - only to be replaced another day!

You hit the nail right on the head!! We have a lot of clutter but the clutter is clean!! When my DH and I first got married, he insisted on having white carpets in our new house. You can imagine how long that lasted with kids!! I don't mind toys, or things lying around as long as the house is cleaned at least once a week. I wouldn't want to live in a museum as one of my friends house surely qualifies. She is the only person that I know that has her house vacuumed end to end twice a day. Everything looks like Architectural Digest is arriving any moment. You would never know she raised three kids in that house!!

We have to start working on family pages for the classroom book as well. I don't know where to begin...maybe have Samantha pick out things that she feels describe our family? And a page of things she likes to do? Hmmm....I'll ask her and see what her imagination thinks these pages are supposed to be like!
Tyler has to do one of those tonight too (a double sided page). I printed copies of the pics for him that he wanted to use and he's doing 1 side of the page of his family at his dad's house (Tyler, his dad & stepmom) and the other side will be for our house (just him and I). Tyler's pretty crafty, so I'm curious to see what he ends up doing with it.

I know how you feel Vanessa, I feel like that a lot sometimes too . . . I really like for my house to be neat and clean, but . . .

I’ve learned to think of it differently . . . Life, if you really think of it, disdains order. Life is messy. Life is not a museum, life is a carnival, a free for all. Whenever I have to pick up, or clean up all this stuff (which is hourly too) , I just look at it and tell myself this is the “evidence of life” all around me. Without all this stuff, without all this mess, there would be no life, and I have to be grateful for and remember these times because they do not last forever.

Some day my house may be the cleanest and stay clean for days at a time – only then will I realize what is missing, and I think I will miss it.

Amy has an aunt who always wanted to keep her house like a museum. The living room was an unapproachable place. You were afraid to take children there to visit.

Amy will attest that our house is full of the “Evidence of Life”, and I wouldn’t have it any other way – even though like Angie and Dennis, sometimes I could fill a dumpster with all that evidence!

truer words were never spoken now I can call all that stuff "Evidence of life" maybe even "intelligent life forms":rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

well, we just had a fire alarm go off...luckily this time it was no bomb threat or anything.

today is dragging, even though it is close to month end. Unfortunately several people are being extremely LOUD!

Clinton, TN. Just a bit NW of Knoxville. The aquarium sounds like a winner! Thanks a bunch!

You are welcome. You also really might want to check our the Horse Park as it really seems they have a lot of things to do for kids.

It's a bummer when the day drags. At least you have the DIS to help occupy your time! :thumbsup2

My day was SO busy at work! It was crazy hectic. Now I'm headed to pick Tyler up and we have lots of running around to do. Busy, busy, busy! I'll sure be ready for bed tonight!

We just might. I just finished checking out their website before seeing your post. :thumbsup2

I just ran to the post office to mail out some ebay items...I am hoping to list some more stuff tonight. Glad someone else wants my junk!

I have been trying to research local breeders and find pups that will be ready for xmas delivery...it's quite hard...!

I am not sure what color yet...I kind of like the chocolate, John likes yellow and I fell in love with the silver color....

so cute....they haven't contacted me back yet.

Those Silver Labs are beautiful dogs V . . .

I never had heard of them before - I'm sure that Amy would love that color too. I am really partial to Labs/Lab mixes - I think it is a great choice!
