Her books always made me laugh so hard I would end up crying!

:lmao: When DD #2 was in first grade they wrote about their family. We went to back to school night and I read hers...."My daddy goes to work and to college. He makes dinner and cleans the house. My mommy lays on the couch and reads Erma Bombeck books."  I was first mortified, then  :rotfl: :lmao: The week they wrote about their families was the week I had a miscarriage. I was confined to bed, which I moved to the couch so I could be around the family. I spent a lot of time reading Erma that week because she DID make me laugh and I really needed it at that moment. It was too funny though. I can imagine what her teacher and the other parents who read her little book thought! :sad2: :rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear you had a miscarriage. :sad1: I had one in 1989 so I know your sorrow. But I'm glad you had Erma Bombeck to give you some laughter during that time! :thumbsup2 She just cracks me up!!!!!

Yummy lunch! I've never had grapefruit cake, but it sounds awesome!

It was very yummy. It was a lovely afternoon, as I had BIG sister there with me and I'd never thought in a million years I would get her to come to WDW. I promised I could show her the kinder, gentler side of Disney and offered up Wilderness Lodge too...that worked! :thumbsup2

.

I have to decide what my drink of choice will be on the ship. :drinking1 I've been enjoying having Caipirinhas (Brasil's national drink), however I don't know if they will have the liquor needed on board (Cachaca). It's either that or Appletinis.

Oh, that's easy.....a BBC!

That's an easy one...first drink at the pool is ALWAYS a BBC....maybe two of them....

See?

:rotfl2: Too funny! I'd never had one on other cruise until a co-worker told me I just HAD to have one! She almost made me feel like I had blasphemed by not having one in the past! :rotfl: So I had one on my last DCL cruise and am HOOKED! The only problem is that it's very filling. So I've decided this should just be my breakfast every day! :lmao:

Well, there is nutritional value here, so why not?

OK...time to sign off the DIS, grab my book and toddle off to bed.

Later kids!

Plus it has a real banana in it, and a banana is usually what I have for breakfast, so I'm all for it! :thumbsup2

Goodnight Jackie! :goodvibes

well since I am driving myself crazy I bit the bullet and called....

guess what --- voice mail! So I went ahead and left a message.
Hang in there! I think showing that you are eager for a job is a plus.
We talked last night and I think we decided we are going to get a puppy for Xmas. John wants a large dog still, I don't but we tossed around the idea of labs, dobermans and golden retreiver. John wants the lab but if we get a large dog I would like a dobie.

So we'll see.
We are thinking about a dog, but just can't seem to commit. We lost our Ragdoll cat to heart disease about 6 months ago. I was listening to Oprah on the radio and she was interviewing someone who said if your children want a pet, you should get them a pet. My kids have been begging for some since Kimba died. We got a baby chick from a school project, but it died within a week. I finally broke down and went for it today - we got 2 rats and 2 dragon lizards. Oh my goodness. Coming from a family with 5 girls and only 1 boy, with just had dogs and dolls. I can't believe I have rats in my house. :scared1:

But the rats are trained ones, they don't bite. And the dragons they say can live for 10-15 years, which is good as my eldest son is very anxious about having to deal with another pet dying. He was very emotional when the baby chick died.

Holly, guess who needs a water heater?

Yup, us!

So on Tuesday for $350, we are getting one....cold showers until then, unless I use your method of boiling water...or there is always the hot tub.
If we run out of hot water after a couple of showers, will a new water heater fix it or is it some type of piping issue?

We felt that this was only fair since the money his dad is using comes from my sisters pension, 401 and her social security payments to the dad. Dad does not work. Long story why he doesn'w work but laziness has a great deal to do with the reason.
I can't imagine not wanting to work - if it wasn't for a company, it would be for my kids school or our church. I think it must be so hard to find meaning in life if you aren't out there, doing something. That being said, I can't wait for 15 days of laziness on DCL!!!
Hi Noel ! Glad you are recovering well.

The Pinot sounds very good. Hmmm? We just bottled about 48 bottles of our own Pinot. Hope it turns out THAT good. It is very promising from early tasting. We were lucky enough to get the grapes at no cost. Our property is in the middle of the North Willamette Vinyard country, and friends gave us some of their last years harvest. It turned out much better than I thought it would, since Pinot is a first for me. Dick Erath told me he would sell me some of his grafted plants from his own nursery, but he sold out and retired last year. I didn't jump on the opportunity. :confused3
Oh well. He is probably playing golf in AZ somewhere.
I love to make wine.
Oregon Pinot is the best!!! I'm thinking...maybe we should have one tasting that we try some fancy stuff (of course home made wine would be on the top of the list)? People who want to participate can bring wine from their own winery, or from some list of 98+ wines. I could bring the Omega! But obviously, it would be difficult to do this on a large scale unless people put in funds or something....just a thought. Might be too complicated
DH's car died yesterday and needs over 2k in repairs. We are going to have to just replace it because it has been nothing but a money sink for the past year and I can't see putting 2k more into it.

So we have to go new car shopping this weekend. To make things even better, he drove my car to work today and the check engine light came on! So we are in car panic now.
But at the end of the day, you will have some fun new car! That is good news. Hope the engine light was just broken and not the engine!
It will be a year and a half aged by this cruise. We will bring a bottle for tasting.
Your wine sounds lovely.

Oh, that's easy.....a BBC!

See?

Ok, I feel stupid. But was is BBC?? Thanks! Lisa

I think Bailey's, Banana, & Colada mix? Can't remember for sure, but I do remember watching them put a banana in the blender with everything else. Yummy! To me, it tasted just like a banana shake and was almost the same consistency as a shake. :thumbsup2

DEFINITELY time for me to head to sleep. Goodnight all!

It's a Baileys Banana Colada....it's to die for and it's exclusive to DCL. I've tried getting them off the boat and they don't know what you're talking about and if you explain how to make it they will, but it doesn't taste the same. You must try one on this cruise!:cloud9: :woohoo: :cloud9:

Hi Holly....Good Night again Holly....I was awake for a bathroom stop and now I'm up again!:rotfl2: :confused3 :rotfl2:

Just got caught up.

We are sitting at the airport waiting for our flight to leave for San Jose.

I am more excited about having dinner at Miaki's than going to see the Ducks play! Pretty sad, but I love Miaki's and we haven't been there in years.

Tomorrow is going to be a perfect way to celebrate our 18th anniversary together. Dinner at our favorite dining establishment and an Oregon Duck football game!

Happy Anniversary.

This trip is going to be over the top fun fun fun!!!!!! I can't wait to get onboard!:dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Drunken bush dancing!!!:dance3:

Good for you! When you're finished do you want to come to my house and do mine? I really need it bad. Now we're taking stuff from mom's house and we're boxing it up and putting it in storage. I'll have to declutter my house if I want to bring it home. My brother is just the opposite, even stuff that you want to keep, you better get it quick because he throws out everything. He's doing mom's house now and almost has it empty. We got a big dumpster in the yard and he's got it full already within one day....everything in the garbage. He threatened to come to my house and do the same thing. YIKES!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Sounds scary, but it's probably what our house needs...:scared1:

Karen
