Just asked our daughter for ideas for her 4 children as I need to get a move on with being away from 24th Nov to 11th December!!

8 Grandchildren , 3 children plus their partners, one 91 year old mother in law who will be a nightmare to buy for, and a few other folk, plus John, who will say 'don't bother about me'!!!:confused3

Boy, I don't envy you...that's a lot of gifts to buy. Christmas at your house must be very hectic and fun!!!!! 8 grandchildren and a new one one the way....btw, when is she going to get here? Let us know as soon as you can. :cloud9:

Good luck with your step Dad, Ray and telling him about the sale of the house. I know it is never easy for elderly persons to accept any kind of change. Hope all goes well.

Noel

Thanks Noel, it was rough, but had to be done. Fortunately we had the social worker present to ease the pain a little....she was very comforting and very helpful.

It's great to see you back on here feeling well enough after your surgery. I'm so glad all went well.:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I am really in tune with Xmas as we just paid off in full our NYE cruise on the Magic. We are not giving big Xmas presents this year to GK's as we are paying for the cruise and time at WDW.

In our family, we only give presents to the under 21 year olds. We have WAY too many persons for Xmas gift giving and it is also not practical since we have quite a few birthdays at the same time of year.

The practice of only under 21 year olds for Xmas started many, many years ago in our family and seems to work really well. We try to spend time together in the summer and send each other small birthday presents.

We do the same thing...have been doing it for a few years already...only the kids get gifts. I mean the grands coz the kids are adults...and the nephews and our godson. I usually get some computer games for John and I order Disney collectibles for me....but we keep Christmas simple. We make sure we all spend time together and that's the most important thing.

You know me , Im easygoing! Im taking most of that week off to be Hollys chauffer :lmao: . If we do Rainforest , we better make resv.Lego land isnt as fun, when we were up there a few weeks ago they took away the 2 platforms to make and race the cars. Beth was bummed!

Hi Heather, since LegoLand is not as much fun anymore...where would you suggest we get together so the kids can have some fun too?
:confused3 :rolleyes1 :confused3

I found a friend on my space....she and I grew up in dance together, and went to performing arts high school together.....she went to FSU and I UF.

Where does she live now? Any chance of you getting together? What great fun that would be!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just heard on the news that the local beaches are re-opening! Our beaches close the day after Labor Day but this week we've been having above normal temps for this time of year (close to 90), so the beaches will be open through Sunday at least. Cool! :yay: If I remember, maybe I'll take Tyler swimming on Sunday!

I LOVE an Indian Summer....I missed going to the beach this year because of my legs....so take Tyler and get lots of pics for us!!!!!
 :woohoo:

Venetia, Thanks for posting the Universal pics....John and I want to do the backlot tour and probably a few of those get soaking wet rides. Looks like lots of fun!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So the visiting nurse is due here today, but I get a different one coz my usual one is out sick. I hate when they send someone new because we have to start from the beginning again. The regular one already knows the routine. Oh well, I hope she's nice and doesn't hurt me. She's due here around 8:30-9:00am so I have to get ready soon.:upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

Hey, for everyone getting together on the Nov 25 mini meet, I'm trying to think of a place where we could all get together and chat while the kids had a good time too. What about Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? Let me know what you think about one of them.:cheer2: :upsidedow :cheer2:

Good morning to you Deb. Glad everything went ok yesterday, though not surprised you were drained. Take it easy today if you can.:)

8 includes the one due - Sunday actually, so she should be here in the next couples of weeks anyway.:cutie:

Hope all goes well with the new nurse. Just don't let her touch your legs till she knows the routine!

Hi Marilyn....I'm ready and waiting for the new nurse.

I can't believe the little one is due Sunday....I'm so excited for you...I can't wait to hear all about her and see her pics up here.

My usual nurse is out sick, but I hope I get her back next week. I really like her....if it starts to hurt I tell her and she stops. Not sure what this one is going to want to do or how she will take it when I tell her nope, not doing it. Some of them get huffy about it and others just comply without any argument. We'll see what this one does.

So what plans do you have on this rainy day? It's really foggy out over here today. Looks like it could rain any moment.:hippie: :yay: :hippie:

Deb, we went out to a tropical fish shop that also has a great coffee shop, wo we had to indulge!!!

We have now commenced on our big clearout of our home. De clutter and re organise!

Oh how exciting....tropical fish and a coffee shop all in one. I love looking at all the pretty tanks and hearing the water sounds. I have turtle tanks at home....4 tanks with 6 turtles....and the water running is so soothing to me.

We have now commenced on our big clearout of our home. De clutter and re organise!

Good for you! When you're finished do you want to come to my house and do mine? I really need it bad. Now we're taking stuff from mom's house and we're boxing it up and putting it in storage. I'll have to declutter my house if I want to bring it home. My brother is just the opposite, even stuff that you want to keep, you better get it quick because he throws out everything. He's doing mom's house now and almost has it empty. We got a big dumpster in the yard and he's got it full already within one day....everything in the garbage. He threatened to come to my house and do the same thing. YIKES!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Marilyn, is it just you and me on here today? Where are all of our regular chatters? Maybe they're all sleeping in on this Friday morning. :rotfl:

So the visiting nurse just left and although she was nice enough....she wasn't as good as my regular one, Becky. I'm feeling the pain again even though she didn't intentionally try to cause it, she was a little clumbsy and caused it anyway. Becky's got it down good and doesn't usually cause me any pain. I think I might have to take a pain killer today. I try not to take them unless I'm going to see the Dr., but today I might have to make an exception.

Sweetie, if you're reading, she didn't wrap them very well and they'll probably fall down and you'll have to redo them. Be prepared.
 :guilty:

One of our DIL's keeps absolutely nothing. Nothing!:confused3

Can be like this sometimes, me on my own!! As Karen would say - ding a dang or something!!:rotfl:

Ooh Deb - a University in Delaware is on lock down after a couple of shootings and the gunman is still at large. Just on our news.

It's still a definite maybe, but we are trying to get away the first weekend of October to DL to see all of the Halloween stuff! We promised ourselves last year that we would go, but we'll see. That's why we got our AP's earlier this year!

Fingers crossed!

Karen[/COLOR]

Definitely let us know if you are still going that weekend - we will be there Oct 4th-6th. Have tickets for Mickey's Halloween Treat on the 5th.

We are trying to de-clutter as well - we both then to hoard paper - receipts, paid bill stubs. We have already filled 4 of the 30 gallon trash bags with shredded paper! Hope to finish in the ofice by Sunday and then start on the rest of apartment. My sister and niece are coming to visit Oct 2 - 10th so we have a goal date to complete everything.

Good luck with your organizing!

Deb - we could use you brother here!!

So my Ella kitty is a scaredy cat and runs and hides even when John walks in the door. This morning with the nurse, she was out the whole time and running around and playing. Go figure!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
