OK....I'm off to go put my leftovers away from my YUMMY lunch. Then take a 2 hour nap! :woohoo: Sure, I should be doing my homework, but my bed is calling my name.

Wow, Thanks for that pic Noel. That was the scariest Roller Coaster I have ever been on. I last rode it in March of 1968, when Angie drug me on it. Helicopter gun missions in VietNam didn't scare me as much as that coaster. Whew. FUN.:scared1:

And I did not scream like a little girl! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I wonder when this photo was taken. I don't see the double ferris wheel. Maybe it is a little more to the left and out of the picture view. Or maybe they had taken it down, just before the Pike was closing. ???? I notice that the area to the top of the picture has been filled in and there are lawns there. At one time the coaster went out over the water.

Eaten 2 small chocolate caramel slices, 1 packet of Maltesers and too many gummies!!!

I not only screamed like a girl, I prayed to get off the ride alive!! I was amazed to see people put their arms straight up to show their bravery!!

My sister rode this with me ONCE and she managed to get underneath the bar across your lap and into a ball on the floor!! :confused3 She was very thin, but still I can't figure out how she did that except from pure terror! :rotfl:

Managed to buy some Maltesers today.:)

Have some ironing to do then i will sit and find a film to watch and eat them!

Gummy sweets. Anybody else love them? Have a bag of those too.:rolleyes1

My DH loves gummy sweets, in fact he's scoffed a whole bag of gummy bears this afternoon. I like gummy lifesavers, the berry ones, but can't get them over here.

The picture is from the Long Beach museum archives. I suspect by looking at the cars that it was taken in the 1960's. You can see other views if you look at the links.

I guess if you didn't like the beach it wouldn't be that great.
I wonder if there are any people who do not get off the boat at CC??

We're not really beach people. We have spent some time on CC on our 2 previous cruises but have discussed the possibility of not going ashore next time. We prefer sea days, and we're glad that this cruise ends with sea days and not at CC.

You know we really should be heaving stuff into that dumpster! :sad2: It is calling my name. But first, a load of laundry to get out of the dryer....back in a minute.

Now Holly, Don't encourage her.:lmao:

The first time I ever rode it I got cramps in my arms from hanging on so tight. I was 12 at the time. My friends used to ride it 5 or 6 times in a row. It was a 25 cent ride back then. I think it was only 50 cents when Angie and I rode it. It was a double coaster. You can see the two tracks in the picture at the top of the terrifying downhill section. It was like two coasters in one. I wish they could rebuild it. It was old, wooden, and rickety.:scared1:
