I know she's in Key West visiting family (and picking up brochures and coupons for DISers) this weekend. I can't tell you the pricing on ours, as Peg took care of that. I know DCL has a $12ish fee that will be part of it. If you have anything from 'home' you'd like to include, you can send it to them and they'll put it in the basket too. So maybe if he has a favorite treat (crips, cookie) that would be fun to put in there. We also had a wine basket. Two bottles of wine, some cheeses, crackers and nuts and hard candies. I think that one was kind of expensive because of the wine we picked and she chose some quality cheese/crackers/nuts....I think Peg just gave her a $ amount and said 'go for it'!

We also had in our room the DCL champagne and petifours (sp?)....choc covered strawberries and the like, that was a gift from our travel agent. That was very nice and I know you can get it with apple cider instead of champagne if you prefer. I don't have a photo of that, but I know I've seen them on the DIS...if I run across it again, I'll post it for you.

I was thinking cider as he likes an odd drink but other than an odd glass of wine that is it, some gummy sweets.......and then I draw a blank!!!:rotfl: Perhaps a disposable underwater camera. I don't think I can come up with enough items for him, that is why I was thinking of the Bon Voyage decoration/cake. To be honest, we will have had 1 week on the dining plan, and then eating on the cruise, so perhaps food is not the best gift.

Well, I suppose I'd better get off the couch, get a shower, and go pick up some lunch. Have to check my e-mail to arrange pickup times with people coming to take away a bunch of Tyler's old stuff (backyard toys he's outgrown). Very exciting to get rid of clutter! And Tyler's making a little bit of money, so he's excited too!

Have a great afternoon everybody!

You too Holly, and a great time at the carnival with Tyler.:rainbow:

This is what we found. There is so much food everywhere that more food just does not make sense. We had Shirley do a sand bucket for DGS last cruise and she included a couple of juice boxes which came in handy for him on excursions, but the big bag of M&M's was still mostly there when we left the ship. I did the sand bucket because I did not want to pack one. I hoped to donate it to Scuttles Cove when we left but DGS insisted he take it home:rolleyes: so I had to figure out a way to pack it anyway. :sad2:

We love the Grand Canyon and would go there again in a heartbeat, but I agree for you the children might not be just as impressed, and would like the theme parks much more.

John and I spent a memorable week in the Grand Canyon back in the early1980's. We flew over the canyon, rode the mules into the canyon, toured the area, went down the Colorado River and stayed at the El Tovar.

We stayed at the El Tovar on our 3rd visit and fell in love with the place. We have done the flight, and then the helicopter ride another time. We walked someway down into the canyon which is well worth the effort, but on our way back the mules were coming down still, and I was squashed against the side of the canyon on a corner. Phew! At least we had read to stay on the inside. Those mules just keep on going!!! We watched them set off on 2 mornings, and now John would love to do it, but I am still rather frightened.:scared1:

John's BIL had a heart attack yesterday. I think it was a bad one, but he is out of Intensive care now and has already been on his feet!!

When I did my nurse training, many moons ago, basic care was always the same.

1 week flat on back, 1 week sitting up and then a week getting mobile. That probably gave more patients more chance of another heart attack looking back. Nowadays there is more medical treatment and up and about and exercising quickly.

Need to get quickly to hospital for the immediate medication that helps the most.

 to John's BIL and family:grouphug:

I wonder if I can do 47 posts and grab a pirate: before you are all up and about this morning.:rotfl:

Well, apart from V that is!

I'm just starting to catch up this morning so I sure someone got the pirate:

Way to go to *******(to edit when I get there:lmao: )

Good morning Marilyn! I only had 2 beers! :lmao: I actually got up at 8 this morning and have been watching a movie. Trying to get motivated to do homework and housework and yardwork before picking up Tyler so we can focus on having fun! :thumbsup2

What movie did you watch? and was in any good?

Have any of you had the Bon Voyage things before? Just wondering whether to.

Do you mean the DCL stateroom package? If so we had it on our first cruise and I thougth the decorations were nice to find when we got to our cabin. It came with a celebration cake, which if I remember we did not even eat. I think we gave it to our cabin steward.

Yup. I was in that first group that got room assignments. 7629. We're an inside category, right at the back, near the not so secret aft verandah. :thumbsup2

Holly, I think that you are 2 doors away from us. We are in 7625. We got our assignment when I booked in Jan.

They should give this with the Bon Voyage package instead of the cake. I would not have given this away.:rotfl2:
