When I got home I was still hysterical and upset and in great pain and I just went to sleep. That's why you didn't hear back from me last night. Then of course the DIS was down all morning!:confused3  :confused3

Sounds like you need a new doctor Deb . . .

Deb:

Sorry to hear your horror doctor story. I agree that no doctor has the right to treat a patient like that. I'm saddened to know that many people (me being one of them during my first delivery) don't speak up during the act and call the doctor (in my case nurse) on what they are doing. I'm not normally a person that is one to kowtow to anyone, but during my delivery with Molly I just thought it was suppose to hurt, so during my pelvic exams (with Nurse Rachet) it hurt like hell. After the fact I realized she was mean and did not have to touch me like she did. There was a shift change in the middle of my labor (thank you lord) and the next nurse was much better and had a correct touch. Never should a pelvic exam make one feel like they have been violated. 10 years later I still regret that I didn't report her. I can only hope that she didn't and doesn't treat any other women like she did me that day.

So Deb for those of us who were chicken (& full of postpartum blues) Stand on your hind legs (no pun intended) and scream about your treatment so that darn doctor won't hurt another person like he did you.

I'm stepping off my soap box now.

p.s. from now on take Dizy with you to your appointments and throw him at anyone who isn't nice to you !!!!

Hello Everybody - let me introduce myself again - I am Laura and I will be sailing with you all on this cruise. I promised Lisa - Dopyelovr that I would come back on again. I posted once over the weekend but don't know what happened to my post - it disappeared.

Anyway, hope its not too late to join in. Now that everyone is over and done with I hope that I can still join in the fun if you all will have me.

Lisa, is the whole family doing this cruise also? (FYI - Lisa and I did the Med cruise this summer but due to circumstances - all I saw were pictures of her lovely daughter in shutters. The Magic really is a big boat. :rotfl2:

Anything I should be aware of? I will be going to page 1 soon to see if there is anything I should be aware of. In the meantime, have a ::MickeyMo day everyone!

Welcome to our group Laura!

what's everyone going to be for Halloween?
Samantha saw the Elizabeth outfit - not the pirate one the ??? one and now is trading Daphne (from Scooby) for that.

Sophia has decided she is going to be a witch. Her cousin talked her into it. She was also looking at spooky stuff to decorate the house with. This from the girl who is afraid of her own shadow!

I told her we should paint her face green like the witch from Wicked - she said NO WAY!

John:

When Wil was 2 1/2 he loved Spiderman and of course was he for Halloween. He asked Daddy to be Gobby. Dad got dressed (painted his face Green) and scared the crap outta his son. The sad part was, we had a party that night and Wilson would NOT go near his Dad for all the candy in the world. I have to find those pictures to show Wilson now, he would be so embarssed....:scared1:

I think Molly is going to be a China Doll for Halloween, haven't asked Wil yet. I think I'll go see now...brb

I am a family physician...but I practice Naturopathic Medicine. Here in WA, we are licensed as primary care docs...the difference between us and the traditional medical docs are treatments. I use homeopathics, herbs, nutrition, counseling, etc rather than traditional prescription meds. My practice is primarily women and children, dealing a lot with allergies, ADD/ADHD, hormonal issues, digestive probs and the typical colds and flus. I am also trained to be a midwife, but after doing 15 or so births, I decided it wasn't for me so I stopped my certification.

I am not sure if Naturopathic physicians practice here in Ohio . . . one of the owners of our company (he is now in his 80's) is a huge believer in natural herbs and cures.

Hate to ask, so just point me in the right direction . . . Do Natureopathic physicians have a different way of treating hay fever type allergies? Have had these since I was a kid, and the traditional medicines (antihystemines) are either becoming intollerable because of side effects, or ineffective. It is that time of year here in OH with ragweed . . .

Do you make housecalls to Ohio?

Deb,

That is an awful story. I would write to the hospital adminstrator as well.

PTA is actually kind of under control... I am just waiting for the next crisis to happen.

We had a fire here on the mountain by our home. They blocked off our road and had structural fire trucks out all night so our homes would not burn. DD could not sleep she was so worried about evacuation. She has not slept really well since, she wakes up every night. I am hoping she feels secure again soon.

I am just core dumping, can you tell? We had to move DD's ice time to mornings on Wed and I am the walking dead today.

I am going to Berlin next week. I just found out friday. Anyone have any good advice?

I need a vacation....

Kim

OH how like Sophia that sounds.

We are still going through the "I don't want to go to school" litanies every night now. Any change gets the girl so upset. I can't imagine if we had a fire nearby . . .

I told Amy, I LOVED the start of school (yeah, I was a real nerd) our kids got this lack of interest in school from her - not me! I couldn't wait until school started - I LOVED it! Of course, Amy told me she was just like Sophia.

Alex, great student that he is had no love for school either.

And finally, if I ever hear that he does something like that doctor did to Deb when he is practicing, his dad will come out and tan his hide - doctor or not!

We are a bit sad tonight. We sent our dog Gator to go live with my mom. She has five acres and there is plenty of room to run. Gator has been sort of lost since Lilly (her mom) died and my mom has a rottie named Big Un - and he's truly is the size of a small pony and they lost Gator's father Ernie last year so Big Un is pretty lonely as well. I know it will be good for both of them, but I am sad just the same.

I know how you feel V...I miss Angel too, even though she was a problem dog, she is still my dog that I love. Maybe you should consider getting a puppy for your house.

:woohoo:  :woohoo:

We had to have 1 of our dogs put to sleep last month and the other dog is totaly lost. It is hard too watch them knowing there is not much you can do. It sounds like your dog has a good enviroment to recup in.

Oh Gydell, I'm so sorry for you...I think it's one of the hardest things to ever have to do. I had to put my favorite dog to sleep one year ago and it still hurts to this day...I miss him so much. That's why we got the puppy. But the puppy is nothing like the dog I lost. It's a shame. At least you still have another dog, even if the poor thing is lost....just give him some extra attention and love.:goodvibes :cutie: :goodvibes

WOW! I'm gone for 3 days and 30+ pages behind. I'll try and skim them over the next few days but we have certainly gotten chatty here again, so keeping up will take most of my time! :lmao:

Taylor started K today and took the bus. Yup, I was the mom in the minivan following the bus to school so I could be there when she got off:rotfl2: She was so excited to start and didn't even get teary eyed like her dear old mom!!!

V....did I miss all the WDW pics?! Did you have a great trip?

YEA Taylor....congrats on starting K today! Any pics Kaylee, we'd love to see them if you have a chance.

Savannah's teacher called us the first week of school every day because Savannah said she was sick. I'd go in and she was a HUGE STRESSBALL. I think she just needed a hug and reassurance. Now she is fine, but wants me to check in on her when I am at school. Change averse.

I have to tell you the funniest story. I was at school helping the first day of k and the principal had tissues out just for the parents! It was so cute. The kids were totally stoked and the mom's were tissue laden.

The fires are still burning. She has spoken with her family and all is fine, for now. She heard of a story of a mom and four kids that they found charred to death, hugging one another. They tried to escape by car but there was an accident and so they got out of the car and tried to escape by foot but the 100 mph winds that were propelling the fire, caught them...and the rest you can surmise what happened. How awful!

Thanks for asking!

Oh Lisa, how aweful for your mom...thanks to all that she got through to her family and they're all ok. Just think of how hard it must be for everyone living there with these fires...just your one story was horrific! Prayers to them!

Well, we're off to dinner - it's our anniversary too! 14 years!!!! Happy Anniversary Karen and Ted!!!!

How cool for you and Mark to share with Karen and Ted. Happy 14 years to you and hubby. It's amazing to see how quickly it goes. I'm sure it doesn't feel like that long. Hope you shared a special romantic evening together.:cloud9:  :cloud9:

Sophia actually has already missed a day - the day after the holiday. She was one big rash. Doctor said it was a virus, and she was OK to go back today. She is FINE once at school - but just does not want to go - tummyaches, you name it!

Tonight she told me that the teacher ignores her!:rotfl2: I said what do you mean - she said she does not immediately acknowledge her when she raises her hand. This is coming from a girl who is used to immediate attention from her dad (yeah, my fault) whenever she so much as hiccups.

it's funny - the day I met Johnny I called my Grandma and told her I met the man I was going to marry!

I did the same thing with my grandma when I met John...she told me she thought so too. I was so very close to my grandma...I miss her every day!
 princess:

i'm back and wilson doesn't have a clue on what he will be for halloween. I wouldn't be suprised if the pirate made it out of the box again...2 years running.

Molly is driving me crazy. She is out of school at 1pm been fiddling around on homework since then and still not done with it. she has to write 2 paragraphs, 5 sentences each. she is dragggginnnggggg this out until I die..... She has always had a motor skill problem, very poor fine motor skills in writing and any use of her hands and then it showed itself as a reading problem in first grade...at the end of 3rd grade (with lots of extra tutoring and help with an OT for a year) she mastered the art of reading (and now is a reading freak) but the writing part just doesn't get better. We've had her tested for everything and she scores so well on the inteligence side of things that she doesn't get any extra time or help with writing (& specifically spelling) she spells at the level of a 2nd grader (or worse) all phonetically. We are waiting to meet with her teacher(s) in her new school, hopefully soon, as this is really making me crazy....okay deep breath. If only school could be verbal for her she'd do great!

We (me, Darrell, and my sister) are going to the Disneyland Halloween Party as the Average Joe's. My niece is going as Pocahontas.

I was right there with Sophia :thumbsup2

OK - Bedtime.

Stayed up until midnight last night watching the Indians make a comeback. They are now 7 1/2 games up on the Tigers, and I am ordering playoff and World Series tickets next week - Wooooo Hoooo! ( or should I say Wahoooo!)

Sweet dreams everyone.

Good luck Nan with your daughter, if she is smart, it will all work out in the end.

Safe travels Kim - nice to hear from you.

Get after that doctor Deb!

Post more Pictures V!

And to everyone else, catch you all tomorrow!

Gretchen's "last" first day of elementary school. She is the blonde. (The girl next to her who is almost as tall as her is a 2nd grader)
