2000 Chevy 2500 Suburban. Well, it does have 133,000 miles so I can't complain. One thing I learned from my father is buy a car new and drive it to "death". Both DH and I had our last cars last 14 years before we bought the Suburbans.
I know what you mean. Bought my 2500 2001 Chevy brand new and only have 50K on it... LOVE IT! Almost paid off and I'll run it into the ground before I sell it. It's the vehicle of my dreams... :cloud9: Always wanted something big enough to haul me, my horses and hubby around to see the sites. We love going up into the mountains riding when it's cooler up there than here. HMmmm we should do that!

:flower3: :upsidedow :flower3:
Thanks, it's great to be back!
Glad your back!

I don't know who she is and I want her to put a saying under my name. I am feeling left out!

Ahhh, the Tag Fairy. Well, not sure if anyone has posted but here's a clue _ hang out on the TAGLIARCHY! Beg and donate CHOCOLATE - and she'll come out and tag you!

Last night I found Budget rent-a-car which is 6 miles away from the port (located at east ocean blvd, phone # 562-495-4316). Budget doesn't offer a shuttle service or pick up service to the port but I spoke to the agency and they said it costs about $15 to take a taxi and if you have a two day or longer rental they'll give you $10 back. So, I was able to reserve a Taurus with a different drop off location for $64 (one day rental). DH will go rent the car and pick us up at the port...since it's only 6 miles away, it'll take just a few minutes. If several people rent from that location, they can share the cost of the taxi...just a thought!

Yeah, I looked at their web-site a while back to rent an SUV to drive home to Phoenix. I'd get a AAA discount too. Think I have to re-discuss this with TiggersPal. Don't want to wait too long on this one.

wow you guys have been a chatty bunch lately!!

School started again, so you probably won't see much of me on here...especially wednsdays--ugh work at 7, class from 11-8:30....that's a long day!

Deb, I know I'm late, but I'm so glad you're feeling better and you're at home where you belong....

Wow you guys have been busy posting. I went on vacation for a week then was scheduled to have LASIK when I got back. I went in for the LASIK but at the last moment they told me my corneas were too thin so I had to have PRK which has a longer recover time than LASIK. So I had the PRK and had a rough time of it for a week. I had really bad light sensitivity so I couldn't watch TV, read, or get on my computer. The light was just too bright! I missed a couple of days of work and then when I did go back I had to wear sunglasses all day because my eyes couldn't take the light. I looked very silly inside with sunglasses on but what the heck.

Now I can see inside and outside without sun glasses. Hooray! My vision has gotten better but I still have to wait a few weeks for the final results. Hopefully I will end up with 20/20 vision. Right now I have 20/40 which is still a LOT better than what I had before the surgery.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am happy to hear you are doing better and can SEE! Isn't it amazing what technology can do these days?

Quick note to remind everyone that I'm off to Argentina--will not have access to the DIS (oh no!) until the 5th at the earliest....can I make it through the withdrawl???

Wanted to wish Kathe and Holly a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Thank you to Nan's friend for posting what's going on....Nan if you get a chance to read this (or if a friend can pass it along to her) - prayers for you, your mom and your family.

:grouphug: s and

HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Prayers to Nan!

HAPPY B DAY to the GALS!!!!

Thanks for the info. No answer at 5:18 p.m.... AZ time. Wonder if I dialed the wrong number.

Your Wednesdays sound like my Fridays will be starting next week: work at 8:30am, then straight to class from 1-9pm (sometimes 10pm). But your Wednesdays will be a bit longer than my Fridays. Yuck!

Hi everyone, I have'nt been on in a loooooooooong time. I do try and keep up but I mostly just lurke.
I am booked for this cruise, my very first ever and I am going solo but I am so excited. I live in Western Canada and I see that there are other Canadians on this cruise. I would like to know how I can link my dining (2nd) with another solo dis'er, and when and I would like to know what excursions some of you have so I can join some of you. Also, what are the special get togethers that have been planned? I see the champagne girls that I would love to join.
Thanks, I may not post for a while but I try to catch up every day or so.

Angie

Well we are using a dis bus to lax then renting a car there as were going to dl then to vegas and flying home from there. Im sure we could get 2 more pople in our car ,or maybe we should look into a minivan.

Hi Heather, We're doing the same thing as you...p.u. car rental in LAX and d.o. in Vegas. We're going to take car service from the port to LAX...do you want to come with us? I've already got the rental booked, but I'm waiting until after final payment in Feb. to do the car service. When I look into services and prices I'll check out the difference to get a limo and we will all fit. I'll let you know what I find out as the date gets closer.

Sorry about your extra air conditioning expense. I keep having to dip into the vacation fund monies too...a lot of extra expenses this month. :coffee: :sad2: :coffee:

No, and I wondered why the coats looked so dog gone short! I thought maybe they got a deal on short coats!

What, you didn't know this? You always tell me you know everything!

You could tell this was the case by looking around. All the Drs were wearing much longer coats.

Welcome aboard Angie!! There are a few private Palo brunches and dinners planned. Plus there are teams for gift giving. Hope that helps.

No No dear, it is always you who know everything, and you never have to tell me - I am well trained.

I just figured that when you are finally a doctor, you can afford the material to get a longer coat.
