2000 Chevy 2500 Suburban. Well, it does have 133,000 miles so I can't complain. One thing I learned from my father is buy a car new and drive it to "death". Both DH and I had our last cars last 14 years before we bought the Suburbans.

That's our theory too. I bought mine new in 2002, and am making the last payment on it in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping it will last for a long time!

Wanted to let everyone who enjoys Greek food know that there is a good Greek restaurant here in Orlando.....close to downtown....called the Greek Corner. I've been there several times and have enjoyed everything I've had there (of course I'm not used to home made Greek food, but it tastes good to me!!).

Noel - that's great you won enough to cover the repair! When I was in college the drive from Lakeland to gainesville was about an hour and a half back roads through the green swamp area, perfect to get rid of someone and this was really before the cell phone craze and I always worried driving that stretch. Luckily all was ok! Glad you were safe!

Ok, just got home from my leadership seminar....going to get the girls together, they love it when we both - well Daddy picks them up! I think I packed half the house, lots of Gator junk!

It's HOT very HOT.

Have a really wonderful trip.

Thanks! You know I will bore you all with details when I get back! :)

I could just.....um....my DH....and that's not dear. He was off today, he could have CLEARLY been ready to pick up, but no, he is jabber jawing with the new pool man. He's covering the pool now with the "spidey" net so no accidents while we are gone.

Hurry up Johnny!

I also was aked to join a college football fantasy league which is a lot different than the NFL one I am in. It has an auto draft! HUH? I got some Bobcats in Ohio, I had to go make sure they were a team, never heard of them. And Purdue RB's.....but luckily I got lots of Gators as well, but come to find out I want the teams that don't play D and score big! SO I just had to frantically set my lineup on the fly.

How about "Miss Mary Mack"?

 Never heard of this, but someone please tell it to me.
I really, really have to know, because I am 'Mary Mac' :) - so named in a previous job to distinguish me from another Mary who was already there when I arrived.

If it's a nice nursery rhyme, perhaps I could persuade my nephew to sing it to me instead of 'Aunty Mary, had a canary ...', which is hardly flattering. (If you don't have this one in the US, ask Marilyn if she knows what the next line is! Or perhaps Scottishwee, as I think it may be Scottish in origin.)

My nephew, by the way, is now 28. DH and I are currently dealing with his mother's :hippie: estate. But most times when he phones, he sings this to me. Is it any wonder I never had any children? :lmao:

Who is Mazzy and what happened?

I hope Deb is home and happily settled soon.

I hope Tyler is having a good day today!

I had two clients cancel their homecare visits for today. One due to a doctor's appointment so I will see her tomorrow and the other has pneumonia. Thus I am home in the middle of the day. I caught up with the four threads I am following, called my Mother at the Alzheimer's Community where she lives and now may post a bit or read some threads from the main cruise board.

Happy day all,
Jan :earsgirl:

I never heard of Miss Mary Mac either. Also never heard the canary one. Sounds like I am glad my name is not Mary.

Yes, it is a shame isn't it?

Mary, I don't know that rhyme, not the Mary Mac one. Of course there is always the Mary Mary quite contrary one!!!:rotfl:

Mazzy is from the UK and she posted on a UK site we are on that she has decided to cancel her Jan Disney cruise. She is hard of hearing, and decided she wouldn't get that much from the shows or the cinema because they don't have subtitles at the cinema or a sheet with the words to the shows. She lipreads but doesn't sign.

Glad you have a little time off, but i suppose it makes you busier at another time.

No, neither of us have nursery rhymes named after us!!!:rotfl:

I did used to get teased because of Marilyn Monroe, but I was named quite sometime before she was famous.

OH My Gosh - I totally know what you are talking about. One would catch the elastic rope with the toes and jump and cross the other side. I remember this game! It was so much fun.

We played this and I seem to remember it was called French skipping. No idea why. :confused3
