Good night all.

Have a good evening packing V.

Have a good night Deb - tomorrow you are home!!

Deb, when are you down after Thanksgiving?

Marilyn, I would love to see you and John, if you're going to be there when we are....Turkey Day Nov 22, Fri Nov 23, Sat Nov 24 and Sun Nov 25.

When will you be there??? We're already trying to do a meet and greet with V and family on Turkey Day and a champagne toast with Karen and Ted and Alex on the 25th maybe. Where will you be staying? We could do the Karen and Marilyn meet on Sunday the 25th. Let me know if you'll be there then. I would LOVE to give you a big hug!

YUP, he's smitten! Any boy that will dance....at five years old....touching a girl....he's smitten, you can just see it in his face, he's lovin it!!!

It's hard to tell how Bethany feels coz it's the only pic I've seen of her....although....anything with a boy at nine years old is MAJOR!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Deb, here's a different perspective. This is from our cruise in Sept. '05. It cracks me up because it looks like she's thinking, "Help! Get him off of me!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tarpon Springs is in between New Port Richey and Clearwater.

Thanks V...that's not far from where we'll be on Turkey Day in Bradenton...maybe on our way out of town, John and I could stop there for some cheese and olives.
:wizard: :cloud9: :wizard:

My heart just breaks for him....what a sweet soul trying to figure it all out....I believe there is a tangible reason coz the kid is just too good at being a Mr. Mom and taking on so much responsibility for himself....he's too sweet and caring and reflective and it's just not in his personality. There is a real reason and the poor little guy is just trying to figure it out. Hugs for Tyler that he gets his answers quickly. :grouphug:
I know! Poor kid! Thanks! :goodvibes He made a picture for me, using his Disney cruise coloring book. After he colored Captain MIckey, he drew 2 smiley faces on the border and put a couple stickers on it and told me, "Because you're the best mom in the world, you get TWO smilley faces, but one is bald." :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Very sweet.....and funny! What kid would call their mom the best in the world after taking all his toys away?! Some serious sucking up going on!

Have a fun time:woohoo:

I have to feed my DD and then pick up DS from school... hopefully I can have my DH pick up my wallet for me:confused3
I hope he can pick it up for you. Then you'd have peace of mind knowing it's safe with you again.

WOW, you guys can chat! It took me 40 pages to catch up again! Thanks, I had nothing to do this afternoon anyway....

Noel, my surgery sister, you know what I'm going through coz you'll be in the hospital soon having yours. Your words comforted me.

Heather, you are soooooo like Holly, you amaze me, such a giver in life, I'm fortunate to know you now....can't wait to cruise and do Vegas baby!

EVERYONE, your care, concern, prayers, support and hugs and love are coming back to you tenfold....I got em, I feel em and I'm giving em back!

Lucy and Bob came in person and I got a minnie face pillow and she's beautiful and a really cool box that has mickey and friends on it that I don't want to throw out.

Best yet, is the beautiful flowers, lime green carnations, that I got from everybody with a cute teddy and balloon....the teddy's name is DISy I thought it was clever coz I was dizzy at the time and it's love from my DIS family.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

You really don't know how much you have all helped. For every miserable procedure they did to me.....I closed my eyes and turned my head and I was hugging all of you on Mickey's ship....of course, drinks were in hand.

I'm finally showing signs of improving today...and John brought me a broadband adapter today so I could WiFi at the hospital. YEA! Happy Now! It has been very hard....after surgery....I threw up from Friday until this morning....YUCK! I think we finally got the meds right now and I'm doing way better. They said no follow up surgeries, so I'm happy about that....the legs are progressing, so I'm happy about that.....I can eat now, so I'm happy about that! It's all good now....we just want to go home.:flower3: :goodvibes :flower3:

Deb I am sooooo glad to hear that you are showing signs of improvement. My surgery will hopefully not entail an overnight stay but you never know. Can't wait til you are better again as we miss your terrific posts!!

Well Finally....a confirmation....We're out of here tomorrow....We're going home tomorrow....anytime after 11:00am the doctor signs you out, then case management sets up your aftercare, then they let you out of jail and back to your life. YEAHHHHHHHHH....I couldn't be happier. I will lock up the puppy and not let her near me.

I'll have to do wound care three times a week to change dressings and continue antibiotics orally. I can do that. Then I get to be back at home with my sweetie, my Tivo, my DISers, my Ella and Angel, my to do list, which has been put on hold and I can now get back to.....it'll be nice to be surrounded by all my favorite things.
:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo:

Hoorary for you that you get out of that stinkin' hospital!!

My latest adventure happened yesterday when I was driving home from Lake Almanor. About 1 hour into the drive, my Suburban decided to stop running. Luckily I was heading toward Reno and not the Chico way as the Chico was has NO CELL service.

I called AAA and one hour later he had my Suburban on the Flatbed truck for the 75 miles trip to Reno. We dropped the Suburban at the Chevy dealer and I got a room at the Atlantis.

Needless to say, dealer is so busy this week and they can't look at the car til Tuesday so I am flying home tonight. I have doctors appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday so must get home.

Hopefully, the car will be ready by Thursday when we fly in for the Labor Day weekend.

DH thinks it may be the fuel pump but we shall see. Got to dash to make my flight. I will check in later.

Noel

Deb... :dance3: :cheer2: congrats on getting the official release tomorrow!:dance3: :yay:  healing always is so much easier from home!

I am so happy - the girls Gator outfits came today!

My word, Michael Vick may end up getting himself killed if he starts turning other people in.

Hi Jan, Hi Karen, Hi Marilyn, Hi V.....yes, I'm back posting....still in the hospital though....but feeling much better and posting again.

They said I could go home either tomorrow or Wednesday....I hope it's tomorrow.

I'm actually starting to feel like a real person again. Now I want to go on a trip....I was reading about V going to Mickey's World and I thought....gee, it might be nice to just get away from it all after this experience...Mickey's sounds good, I would like to go there.

But Alas, I do have to wait another 2 months....then I do cruise and world and I cannot wait until the day we leave coz I need it bad.

OK, what else is going on in everybody else's lives??????

Karen, Did you get that computer up and running yet?

John1, Have you had any time yet to develop the 'be your own boss' job?

Cheri, How is the reunion coming along?

Kaylee, Did you have a good time at yours?

Heather, What shifts do you work after all the 12 hour nights?

Holly, You're still the best mom ever!!! And I'm NOT selling my Turtle sandbox!

Marilyn, I don't think I like smashed peas, but I do like fish and chips!

Ginamarie, Nice to have your family back, did they have a good time?

I'm doing a miniDISmeet with Lucy and Bob this next month....I asked to make it towards the end of the month, not the first week. When they came to see me here in the hospital, all we could talk about was Mickey, Mickey, Mickey! Amazing how one little mouse can affect your life so greatly. Especially since the one little mouse gave me my whole DIS family. Now that's one powerful little mouse!
:cheer2: :flower3: :cheer2:

How DO you remember all that?!?!?:confused3 You are amazing.
Do you want to fill us in on what they did and how it looks? If you don't want to do it on the thread but would like to unload it, you could send me a PM or e-mail. I listen well to medical details.

GLAD YOU ARE ON THE DIS AGAIN:banana:
Jan :earsgirl:

We will have to do something about our Angel though. I cannot let her near me because she is just too wild and won't listen....not at all like our Gandalf. She's a sassy butt and does as she pleases, which is why I ended up in here. Don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I had the edema in the legs, then the puppy jumped on the legs and scratched them when I switched to wearing shorts for the summer. Of course, they got infected...hence, surgery. And now the puppy is seven months old and 70 lbs. :headache:

So sorry to hear how this all started.

I know very little about dogs, but Oprah had her dog trainer on a couple weeks ago and that lady has a book THE LOVED DOG or something like that. She said that to get a dog to stop jumping on you, you have to turn your back because what they want is your face and your love. So, you turn your back and they don't get it. You say SIT and then turn around when they are sitting and give them attention. If they jump, you turn your back again. .....well..... it worked for Oprah.

Personally I would say Angel has to stay in another room all the time. But that's just me, being very protective of your legs!! and all the lovely surgery the MDs just did!!:cool1:

Very interesting to read your observations about family history and leg problems. Sounds like you have it pegged and I am SO GLAD you did not follow the family tradition!

Thanks for posting that. When I went to bethanys school this morning to volunteer and talk to her teacher, I said something about her missing the last 2 weeks of school and she looked at me in total shock and didnt seem very happy. I said well this is a private school ( which gives more days off then public btw) and I had long talk over the summer with the principal before I paid her whopping tuition about wether she would be penalized or not for missing and explained the reasons. Hubby and I are both medical and or busy season is from sept to may when the snowbirds are down and were basically not allowed to vacation then. she said it was ok but apparently forgot to tell the teacher, isnt that special. Anyway, she ended up being better when I explained I would do whatever need be and that we had until Feb to cancel if beth wasnt making good grades. There is a little Panamal Canal museum here and with that book ill be able to help her with the whole huge report she has to do. Personally I think lifes adventures like that are so much more educational then sitting in a classroom for the last 2 weeks when they usually dont do much anyway.

Right-o. Family trips are the best education, whether you are going to WDW or Panama Canal.

Deb - so very glad to hear you are doing better. I, along with many others were concerned for you! You sound so chipper and I'm happy about that!

Lisa- your poor exchange student! The weather wasn’t even that bad in NYC last night.

Peggy- your DH was on Long Island? Islip airport is only about 15 minutes from my house.

He was indeed. Heading back west from Sweden. His brother picked him up at LaGuardia and he stayed the night then he left via Islip - I miss my old stomping grounds!

All by myself...

All alone again, Digga, Dang, Digga, Dang...

Been a while since I said that!

Karen
Karen - you crack me up - thanks for that - a very busy and hectic day today!

Hi Karen,
You're not alone! Of course I'm on here--it's early for me! Although I've got to cut it short tonight as I have an appointment w/the eye Dr. at 8 a.m. tomorrow:scared1: ! I would never make an appointment that early but I have to get in and have him recheck my eyes. I got a new Rx about a month ago and ordered new glasses and they're awful! I've been wearing progressive bifocals for over 15 years and have had my Rx changed in the past with no problems but these are killing me. I wore them for 1.5 days because they said I had to give them a chance (which I understood) but that was all I could stand. I wonder if part of the problem is that these lenses are smaller than the ones I've had (therefore less in-focus space at different distances). Well, I'll find out in the a.m.

:woohoo: :rolleyes1

I had a very similar experience - made me sick looking thru them!

Yes, I'm all for a 9/17-9/19 visit!

OK, all you AZ or close by folk - plug that into your calendars for an AZ DIS MEET!

Back to catching up...
