I always have a book with me in my purse. I read at least one book per day if not more. When I am at Lake Almanor, sometimes I will read as many as 6 in a day.

WOW! I thought I was doing well reading 2 on Castaway Cay last year. I don't swim in the ocean so I laid on a lounge chair under an umbrella reading while DH snorkeled.

True, I put on weight from Med and you know what I cannot get it off!! it is hard and I put do some excerise nowaday.

At med. I took one home and waitress Alvin said okay I take one menu - dessert - Till We Meet Again as it was last day. He was looking around and said okay take it.

I keep it for scrap book and photos etc together.

Now I must think lose weight for Cruise cos foods were excellent on Med. Cruise for 10 days. Cannot image another 5 days extra lol

Scottishwee35:love:

I love those menus. We managed to snag one of each when they were new. I wonder if Ducky Williams did the artwork? I am thinkiing he probably did. They are my favorite of all the menus so far.

Ummm, big problem here, although I LOVE football, I do believe there is enough time to discuss both!:lmao: So, nice try John, but shoes will still be discussed on occasion!!!!:thumbsup2

Somehow I knew you'd rescue me on this one Kaylee....thanks!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Lisa, Calmom, I expect you to chime in on a shoe now too!!!!

Good morning Marilyn!

Hope you have a lovely day!! :hippie:

I love fish and chips! I probably haven't had the best yet; I'll have to wait till I visit you in England!

Hope you sleep well tonight!

Karen

The best Fish and Chips I've had....where from Seattle, funny huh? Okay
2nd, 3rd, 4th and the rest of the best...London  Memories of our honeymoon

Ha, a best Lake reading memory was the summer we all raced to read Jussasic Park. We had 4 reading and only 3 books. Can you tell the fur was flying sometimes to grab that "extra" one....

Summertime at the lake meant mom and dad wouldn't tell us to turn out the lights at night so we got to read read read....I'm that girl that stays up until 3 or 4am reading on vacation. My silly daughter stays up most nights until 11pm reading too, it's really a good bad habit to have I guess.

I'm waiting on my toes to run over to mom's place (the party is in a hall at her residence) but she checks in daily (to make sure they are all safe and sound) and we can't very well be lugging our party stuff thru the doors until she is back in her apartment...kinda a trickey operation, much like spy stuff....

Had a great night last night with aunt/uncle and cousin/wife from Pasadena. Oh my how I miss my dad. I love his sis (my aunt) but she reminds me so much of my own dad.

off to order the balloons. :dance3:

that is what I find great about these boards.....I have made such great and true friendships on here. Sure you get a bad egg every once and a while...but I am thankful for the friends I have made here, without the DIS it wouldn't have happened!

Hi V !:grouphug:

That is sooooo true. What a great bunch of people. :goodvibes

Cindy called me on her way home from work because she saw I'd called her. They all had to take shelter during the tornado warning, but she was surprised to hear how close to her work that it touched down!

Whew! Tornados are the scariest of storms, in my opinion. So unpredictable. I would rather put up with earthquakes than storms like those. I am so glad you and your friends are safe and sound.

Is McAlister's a chain? My sister has one by her that has the best baked potatoes! I always thought it was local restaurant (she is in Wilmington, NC)
I think it is a chain. We have 2 locally. Sounds like the same place because the potatoes are the reason I go! You really could get 2 meals from an order, but I love them SO much I have to eat the whole thing! People at work laugh at me because I used to be so amazed at the size of the potatoes and couldn't figure out how they got potatoes so huge! Took me quite a while to figure out it's 2 potatoes , but with all the toppings, you can't really see that it's 2 very well. :rotfl2:

At least with hurricanes you know in advance that it's coming and can get out of your home or board up or whatever needs to be done. With tornados, you just don't know. One home was destroyed a few seconds before the sirens started. :sad2: Weather folks try their best to predict, but it just doesn't always work. However, I think earthquakes would be worse because there would be no warning at all! But I suppose buildings in areas known for earthquakes are built to withstand such an event.

Hope you are kidding - or just see things through SC colored glasses. Having attended many games at the Coliseum, we have quite a few not so flattering stories. Such as Trojan fan walking up behind Shawn and pouring his beer over the top of his head.

Nope, she wasn't kidding. GO Beavs!

Nanette: I hope your mom's surprise party goes well! :goodvibes

you know, I worked PT (along with my reg job) at Home Depot for two years, when Charlie was supposed to hit Tampa we were handing out tickets to buy plywood. Employees were able to secure some for themsleves and everyone got 5 sheets a pc. Wow, when the end of the line came the tension rose and people were pissed that they couldn't get any. It was a pretty sacry realization that you just need to have the necessary materials at all times.

Luckily almost all the new homes here are being built with all electric underground....we are not!

Well, if things get too bad there V, you can always fly out and stay with us 'til the storm passes. :)

have we gone through our usernames yet?/QUOTE]

Mine's pretty uninspiring. Tigger because he's my favourite character, 137 is my 'last 3', ie the last 3 numbers of my military service number.

I'd like to come up with something better but I don't think there's the facility to change it, other than completely re-registering.

have we gone through our usernames yet? Most are pretty obvious...

lillygator.....my two dogs, unfortunately Lilly (Lilly Ann Tiffany as my sister dubbed her) passed away and Gator is hanging in there - she is her pup, but over 10 years old.

I use lillygator anywhere I have to register or if it is taken gatorlilly.

Usrname....Well, when I was still working at the hospital I came in one morning and signed onto the computer to a greeting, "Good morning Doctor Hug". I thought it was cool, so I kept it. It used to say "good morning Dennis". The Pharmacy Tech supervisor changed it. (I think...though she never admitted it). All the nurses and techs used to give me hugs. And yes, they were just friendly hugs. :rolleyes1  Well, Ang worked there too, so she knows. :rotfl: I  my nurses. They took good care of all my veteran buddies.

That is one of the first things I noticed about DCL!!!:rotfl2:

My username, which I have tried to get changed but can't is part Grandma, and Maz, being the only ever nickname I have ever had. I soon began to realise that having Gran at the front of a username would give a certain image in folks' minds. But heyho too late now!

Your username is great. I like it.

Goodnight again! 2.17 am and I am still wide awake.:sad2:

Wonder what I will do on the cruise if I have a bad night.:confused3

Ring room service and order Cake of the Day!

But you may find that, like many of us, you'll have no problem sleeping. With the constant sea air, my problem is keeping awake! :)

I love fish and chips! I probably haven't had the best yet; I'll have to wait till I visit you in England!

I could probably be deported for this, but my favourite fish in batter is at the Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom. Although I would prefer chunky chips with it rather than fries.

My user name was my sorority pledge class name, long before I got into visiting Disney. All the girls were named after a Winnie the Pooh character, found out later when I became vp of membership, that I was the girl with the top member vote and that was why I was given Poohbear as my tag.

And you are my favorite poohbear PJ !
