87,000 people in our area lost power!!!! I sure do feel lucky!

that's terrible. we were without power for five days after a tropical storm in 2001, I can only imagine what a true hurricane would do to our home and community.

Ok -back to catching up - I keep thinking when I hit the next page arrow... I only have _ pages to go, but it keeps adding pages at the end. OH MY you folks have been busy.
I admit...I'm the guilty one today with all our tornado drama. :guilty: Sorry!

Miss V - this is so adorable... the look on HER face - how do you keep from laughing all the time with these two little faces???

I have to tell you, we were at 1900 Park Fare and Samantha was eating dinner and Charming (should I say Prince Charming since I call DH Charming!) tapped her on the shoulder and that was her reaction. I am so glad I was able to capture it!

yes, we're a chatty bunch...I don't think I am this chatty in person although others on this thread may feel differently!

I can't even imagine! :sad2: I think I'd constantly be a nervous wreck if I lived in a hurricane area!

Yep! Our Trojans are a class act whether they are winning or losing! :cheer2: We take as much pride in that as in the outcome of the games.

Hope you are kidding - or just see things through SC colored glasses. Having attended many games at the Coliseum, we have quite a few not so flattering stories. Such as Trojan fan walking up behind Shawn and pouring his beer over the top of his head.

Holly I can safely say I am a wreck during hurricane season. I am a worrier by nature and try hard to keep it in, but wow, I worry so when the storms are brewing. They are so devestating and destructive. And there is nothing you can do.

From Manchester on the 6th and from LA to Heathrow on the 28th. Hopefully we have someone to pick us up at Heathrow.

Just miss you!

We flight out on 8th from Glasgow to Stanford Airport, hopeful book Limo or minibus then stay at Raddison for two nights - Relax before Disney Magic Cruise:woohoo:

then on 28th May AA flight from La to Orlando then stay overnight, dont know where to stay for one night yet then flight home 29th Stanford to Glasgow.

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

I know it doesn't help to worry but, I have plastic tub with our photos and a few odds and ends I want to keep to throw in the car, we usually retreat to WDW or my mom's if we need to evacuate. When the police/fire and sheriff's are going up and down each street on a bull horn telling you to get out, it's pretty eerie.

 I saw that happen at a hockey game. Can't remember which one....I think it was the Muskegon Fury, but I can't remember who they played. Anyway, a Fury player was in the penalty box, and a fan from the visiting team climbed up and dumped a beer over the side of the penalty box all over the player. The player tried climbing up and OVER the plexiglass to get out of the penalty box and get that guy! That was definitely a case of going to watch a fight and a hockey game broke out.

Just awful :sad2: I had wondered whether people who live where hurricanes happen just get immune to the fear. Must be very difficult to deal with each hurricane season.

Oh my gosh! Scary.

I hope I am not boring everyone...I am cleaning our the pics from my pc.....I (hope) I have all these on disc.
Personally - I could look at pics all day! Too cute!
Another drive by posting from Miss Cheri!

And a glass of Banfi to go with them!:drinking1
Aint' that the truth - I could use a choc covered strawberry and some banfi right about now!
ok Jackie and Peggy ---- who's the eldest/youngest?
I think Jackie answered this but she's 9 years older ... and wiser by far!

I am so trying to keep this site from my family although my sis is a former CM i am sure she is in the know!

If she's like my sis - you can't keep much from them!

I took some Brits to the House of Blues in West Hollywood. They were not used to non-smoking bars. One guy said, "I'm dying for a ***." I laughed and said, "Be careful of what you wish for."

Woody

That is hysterical!!! TOO FUNNY!!!! Hey my friend - how's Ms. Woody??? Have a lovely visit with your friend this weekend!

Jackie - other Marian Keyes books I liked were, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Sushi for Beginners and Watermelon.
The one Jackie is reading now continues with the Walsh family (Rachel's Holiday)... but it's more about Anna than Rachel this time!
When it rains it pours...
went to my meeting this morning and when I got home hubby was bent over in pain ( the man is NEVER sick) off to the hospital we go.Sat in ER where we both work and they gorked him with pain meds and said he prob has or passed a stone. He refused to be admitted, so brought him home on meds.He promised me he'd go back if got worse and meds didnt control it( stubborn)But I love him  Now I have to go back to work for 12 there UGH

Poor guy - Give him our best!

I admit...I'm the guilty one today with all our tornado drama. :guilty: Sorry!

Our neighborhood got hit with a twister/tornado when I was young - I was at the stables looking out for our horses - but it was really scary! Glad you are ok!

Any news from Deb's Hubby? I might have missed an update - I pray she's doing ok, its horrible when you have to go through something so scary!

I think the last update was when he told us about her headed to the OR to have the wounds opened and cleaned out. Poor Deb. :sad2:

But surprisingly, there are no bad eggs on this thread! :grouphug: I'm about to go nuts waiting for all of us to meet!
Be too - I can't wait to meet everyone!

That picture was worth 20,000 words~ at least.

OUCH~! Poor Deb...

Sorry, I was a bit freaked out. I was in the bathroom, reading a book :rolleyes1 and could just barely hear what sounded like the tornado sirens. The get tested once a month, the first Saturday of every month at 1pm, so I recognized the sound, but couldn't figure out why I was hearing them. DUH! You'd think the severity of the storm would have clued me in. Anyway, I turned on the TV to see if I could find any info and immediately saw the radar map with all red everywhere, and tornado warning. Then my phone rang and it was daycare letting me know that Tyler had already been picked up long enough ago that he'd already be home. They didn't want me to worry. Nice of them! I thought about running across the street to my neighbor's house because she has a basement, but things seemed to be clearing up already.

You must be joking that you were reading a book and heard tornado sirens!!:scared1: Lucky you were not staying in bathroom while reading book when torndao came along and leave you read with a book with no building left, :lmao: :lmao: Opps, Sorry!! I cannot image that if it was me, How I know because I cannot hear:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Must be terrified

Scottishwee35:rolleyes1

No, I really was reading in the bathroom (but while doing something else). I had to hurry up with the other business because like you said, I didn't want to be left sitting in the bathroom with no house left around me! :rotfl2: I shouldn't laugh about it, but just the mental picture cracks me up! :rotfl:
