Thank you to all that shared well wishes, thoughts, and experiences. We really have never had something like this happen to one of our children before and it was comforting - thank you! We felt very guilty - horrible parents.
Kayla's visit to the surgeon was pretty uneventful. There was still too much swelling so she has to go back on Thursday. This is bad because I have a surgical procedure on that day. The concern is that the fracture is near the growth plate, but the bone should heal fine without any problems.
Kayla is actually opposite of what one would think with the attention. She hates people seeing her temporary cast and covers it up whenever in public. If I was almost five years old, I would have been eating up the attention. At the fashion show today, she was very shy and tried her best to conceal her arm. She was suppose to wear a hoody around her shoulders/neck (preppy look!) but refused that look and had to wear the hoody with the outfit. She did great though. Worst part was she fell in love with the Juicy handbag she had as part of her outfit. Granted we receive a nice "Leadership" discount, but still!!!! She wanted that bag in the worse way - and of course Dad came home from work with it! Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled! Below are two really bad photo's from the event - they were just too quick on the runway!
Again, thank you for everyone's kind words.
