Hi all...
Ok, back and almost unpacked from our first disney cruise in the med. It was fabulous. We found out that all of the people that worked with us (servers, stateroom and kids club) are all going to be on our panama canal trip. It makes it even more exciting...kinda like coming home. Although, I checked my room and it was a cat10 so maybe we won't have our room steward,Philip...but I'll try!
So, I haven't kept up but I read the first page again. Doesn't look like any new changes. I'm now getting ready to go on this trip.
So, on board the magic they gave everyone the rebooking info and next to our cruise it said "sold out" in big red letters. Plus, I asked the DCL rep to check the price and my room is 1000 more than it was when I booked. While I had hoped that the prices would go down so I can save a little in the payment...it reassures me that we booked at the right time. I can't even use the 10% discount to save on a cat 11..i'd still be paying more now.
I did book a dummy date to save for summer 2009. Let's hope they offer another new and exciting adventure.
Anyways, thought I'd start popping back in and get reaquainted.
Have a great saturday.
Steph

Welcome back. Glad you had a great trip. I believe the weather was good too!!!

Too much partying and playing and wild adventures last night. Must go back to bed before starting my beach adventure with Tyler. Need to recover. Have a great day everybody!

A quiet day on the beach then Holly???;)

The weather was great! A little hot in naples and rome, but otherwise fantastic. We actually got a little of everything. Rain, Rough Seas and 90 degree days. All in all made for a great trip.
Of all of you who've been to castaway....
is the manta ray excursion worth it? We probably won't be doing many excursions on this cruise, but I saw that one at castaway and thought it might be something interesting.

Any thoughts?

My DGS loved it. I could have skipped it. My DD and myself said we will probably skip it next time. Its only about 30 - 45 minutes You get to feed the rays at the stations about 5 or 6 times. Then if you want you can swim for a few minutes - we really just stood around and watched the rays. The water is not deep.

Love seeing all the family/trip/talent pictures!
Having met Aaron at the DIS meet, I must say Savannah has made a good choice!

Where do you work?

Jan :earsgirl:

At the local NBC Affiliate...been there for for almost 28 years! :scared1:

Welcome home! Are you going to do a trip report? If not, please share some highlights with us here.

, but I saw that one at castaway and thought it might be something interesting.

I did it on my first (solo) cruise and enjoyed it. I didn't snorkel after, but since we had the 11AM and there was no noon one, we were able to sit in the water and talk with the CM who had come over from Epcot to work with the rays....very interesting :thumbsup2

I'm just sitting here waiting for the :sunny: to go down so I can go do my grocery shopping.....don't tell anybody, but I'm actually going to start SERIOUSLY eating right to loose weight and get healthy! :ssst:

Hey kids, did you know that in the DISboards chat there is a special room for people to meet and discuss their DCL cruises? Pretty cool....next time several of us are on the at the same time, we should test it out and talk in 'real time' !!

hey guys, wanted to pop in and say I was back from kansas....the 14 hour drive home today almost killed me, but I made it! off to do laundry and go to bed (thank god in my own bed...)

thanks for the manta ray info...now...can I sign my daughter up and not me...just hang around? maybe that might be the way to go...
My trip report is in my signature line...tayandstephadvetures

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! And yes, Aaron comes from the best of famlies. I'd be fine with an arranged marraige now.. I don't think they would mind in 14 or 15 years:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Alex is managing to get around and see loads which is great and making the most of his short time here. Stonehenge is something very different - I hope he took some photos for you to see.

We walked to the London Eye once, but John wouldn't go on as he is scared of heights, but I would love to someday. I didn't know you could go to the Bank of England.

Have a good journey home John and Amy.

Finally home after an 11 hour drive - my eyes have the jitters from driving!

Sophia is spending the next week at her Aunt's in Williamsburg, doing Busch Gardens, and Water Country USA. Both my kids are having a blast, and I have to go back to work soon . . .:sad2:

:lmao:

Have a safe trip home --- sounds like Alex is having a blast and getting to see loads of things!

Well I had a cruise dream last night.....weird, I was only cruising with my best friend from high school and we were LATE....6pm LATE......I forgot my birth certificate and I was wearing a fur coat??!!! But I am happy to report the boat did not leave without me....as we boarded they handed us silverware and directed us to our table, which was not linked!

Yes, I think Amy had a bottle of that at the 4th of July Picnic, but she did not have a fur on in her dream.

I know EXACTLY how you feel, with just a slightly shorter drive!

Loved reading your blog! Sounds like a wonderful trip and now you are an official Castaway Club member! :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous of you all getting together, I think our Dec meet is not going to happen, but I am meeting other folk there so I am happy. Still will meet you all next year!!:)

Marilyn,

We may be able to squeek in a morning meet before we depart on the 26th from WDW.

We'll see how the airline schedule works out.

Still catching up!

Karen

We're renting a car....so will be able to do DL and other area attractions.

Yes, we will be dressing for all the formal nights.....do you know how many of them there are? How many semi-formals? How many other themed nights?

:confused3 ;) :confused3

Deb,

The last Panama Cruise that we were on had 2 formal and 2 semi-formal along with Pirates IN the caribbean and mexicalifragilisticexpialidocious night!

Of course, since I am four days behind still, someone else probably answered this already!!

Karen

Good morning all! Welcome back to everybody who was traveling!

I feel sorry for all of you with those temps way over 100! Yikes! CRIKEY! (We've been watching the Crocodile Hunter movie a bunch--Tyler's first exposure to Steve Irwin).

We had some rain come through overnight and after that my migraine went away. It's crazy, but after somebody at work pointed out to me that some people's migraines are linked to weather, I started keeping track of it and sure enough, when I get a whopper of one, a day or no more than 2 days later there's a change in weather. Crazy, huh?! People have told me the change in pressure in the air does that, sort of like how people with arthritis can tell you a day or 2 ahead of weather change. And my dad's dog used to act squirrelly the day before a storm and the vet said it was the same reason. Strange! But whatever the reason, my migraine is gone!

We slept until 9:30am!!!! Tyler tried waking me up at 6am, but I told him just lie down with me for a minute and fortunately he fell back asleep for 3 1/2 more hours. :woohoo: We never sleep this late!

I asked my doc for muscle relaxers and she told me no since I don't get migraines too often anymore with the stuff I take to prevent them. Bummer. She's never really accepting to anything I say. Usually barely talks to me. Quite often when the appointment is done, she just walks out and it takes me a couple minutes to realize, "Oh, I guess we're done." :sad2:

Well, the parade starts in an hour, so we're headed out soon! :yay: Have a great day everybody!

Hi Holly, my michigan twin! I too get bad headaches when the barometric pressure is up. I often have issues in the wintter when it will threaten rain, but it won't rain, so I have headaches until it finalyy does rain, or the pressure changes!

Still catching up!!

Karen

Have a lovely day! How great to be so close to DL!

I am sitting inside and the rain is coming down again!!! Weeks and weeks of rain.:sad2:

Nice day tomorrow, and then - wet and windy again!

 I'll dream of our cruise.:)

Marilyn,

Still catching up, just on July 4th...

It was over 100 here Tuesday, Wednesday and in the mid 90's Thursday. Back down to the high 70's - mid 80's the last 2 days.

I wish we had some rain! We have already had several fires and extreme situations that we don't usually have until into late summer!!

Karen

. . . We walked to the London Eye once, but John wouldn't go on as he is scared of heights, but I would love to someday.
We went on the London Eye right after the Millenium. Spectacular views!

Woody

Thank you both! We have just had a lovely meal out at a French restaurant - nothing too French, but lovely. Will be watching the tv tonight!!!:rotfl:

It doesn't seem like 38 years and it is only when I speak it out loud that I realise just how long a time it is!

Happy Anniversary... A couple days late!!

Still catching up!!

Karen

Oh well... next time.

Karen
