Holly - sorry about the migraines...that must be terrible.

It is so gorgeous out here...but very warm. I feel we need a revolving door...it's constantly in and out of the pool and house for one thing or another. I think we should have Wednesday's off every week! (but be paid for it of course)

I think I mentioned my mystery shopping on here. Next weekend I had signed us up for an AP Tower of Terror event and had booked a room at rack rack at a value, which I canceled...$122 for Pop, is just too much. Well I got an email mystery shop hotel in Orlando assignment, they pay for the hotel and I also get paid over $100! How cool is that?

Also, we have a new baby bunny in our white birds of paradise. Very cute.

We need one suitcase for our Pirate outfits because DH has a Captain's outfit I made since he did not want to be a scruffy pirate. It has a crushed blue velvet long coat, britches, homespun shirt. One time he wore it with sandals and other time with loafers on which we made silver buckles out of duct tape. I wish I could find him nice pirate boots that were not too expensive or hard to pack.

is anyone planning on shipping a box back home? We are definitely shipping one to the ship with costumes, DIS goodies, etc and I think we will need to ship one back from LA to not run into the 50lb deal. Where do you find scales at the airport?

It's crazy, but after somebody at work pointed out to me that some people's migraines are linked to weather, I started keeping track of it and sure enough, when I get a whopper of one, a day or no more than 2 days later there's a change in weather. Crazy, huh?! People have told me the change in pressure in the air does that, sort of like how people with arthritis can tell you a day or 2 ahead of weather change. And my dad's dog used to act squirrelly the day before a storm and the vet said it was the same reason. Strange!

When I was teaching, I could very often predict a change in the weather by the kids' behavior. A day or so before a big storm system came in the kids would just be nutso! Nice kids would act out, kids would cry, not be able to focus, giggle and act silly, etc. etc.

John and I are spending our anniversary (today) in Reno with friends. Plan to see fireworks and have a wonderful late dinner.

Cheri: I know just what you mean about behavior and weather. It's killing me with this hot weather and 3 rowdy boys stuck inside. No leaving AZ as a family until the oldest gets out of his summer program. Then it's off to San Diego for some sailing and DL to follow.

I'm escaping this weekend (not to a lovely spa, that was Satruday) but to Old Fort MacArthur Days in San Pedro, CA. (Yes, I'm working an event, shooting cannons.) I got a hotel room nearby the Port, so I'll have to post about it later. Any locals, come out for a shoot up good time and take pictures. I'm not allowed to take pictures when I'm doing historical re-enactments.

Hi everybody.....

Been a very difficult few weeks. My mom was directly instructed by her doctor she can no longer be alone and my life has turned to H*LL. My brothers and I are trying so hard to be accomendating. She does not want to go into assisted living...so we suggested spending some time with each of us during the year. She only wants to go home to her own house. She does not want to be with any of us. She has lost 16 pounds in 6 months and now weighs 95 pounds. They can find no medical reason for the weight loss at all. She is just not eating enough.

I am supposed to leave in a few weeks for the MED cruise and I am hoping I do not need to cancel.

Please keep me in your prayers.

We are in Truckee, staying at Old Greenwood. We went to Wild Goose last night for dinner and fireworks http://www.tahoemountainclub.com/index.cfm?event=club_amenities&id=41.

Today, we will head to some family friends from Woodside at their place in Tahoe City. Don't think we will stay up for the fireworks tonight...it was a long night with the little one.

Thanks! I wish I could switch doctors. The plan I have assigns a doc to me. Fortunately she's retiring next month, so I should be receiving something in the mail soon telling me where I'm to start going when she's gone.

Fingers crossed for a new doctor who has the courtesy to listen.

Oh no, Lisa....that's my worst nightmare and I know that my day will come soon enough when I'm confronted with your situation too....just why did it have to happen to you a few weeks before your MED cruise....better if it had waited until after. Regardless, DO NOT cancel. You are going to need this trip and it's important that you keep your plans no matter what. You mom will still be there to care for when you get back....let a sibling take care of her while you are gone.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers that it all works out well for all of you. Keep us updated when you can.

I have been thinking of you. I know you will face this....it is not fun. My mom is stubborn...she does not want to listen to anyone.....I just do not know where to go from here.

I am in Delaware right now with my mom and she has agreed, at least for now, to stay with my brother here until we get back from the MED....but then she changes her mind and demands for me to take her home and then she starts crying.....
