Have a lovely day! How great to be so close to DL!

I am sitting inside and the rain is coming down again!!! Weeks and weeks of rain.:sad2:

Nice day tomorrow, and then - wet and windy again!

 I'll dream of our cruise.:)

Welcome back. Let us know where you have been.

We have ben in Phoenix in 113 deg, but just can't imagine 120.:scared1:

Thanks - I spent 5 days in DC for work - super hot! Flew back to San diego on Thursday (took 11 hours - delayed in Houston). Then worked Friday for 4 hours and flew to NC for 9 days. NC is where my parents and sister live. Spent the first part of the week at my parents. Then my sister and I went to a Scrapper's Dream Vacation. We spents 3 nights at a hotel where we set up our scrap stuff and could work round the clock. It was a great time - lots of fun - and I got quite bit of scrapping done!

We are headed off to see Live Free Die Hard this morning.

Happy 4th everyone!

We might have overlapped in Bethlehem! We moved in August 1994. Did not do Musikfest that year because of moving to Indiana. We lived near the shopping center with Giant, Wel-Mart and Home Depot as the end and middle stores, on Rt 191. Where did you live? Why the move north?

Jan :earsgirl:

My nephew Robert Sandie who is the founder of Viddler.com went to Lehigh in Bethlehem and still lives there.

Good morning all! Welcome back to everybody who was traveling!

I feel sorry for all of you with those temps way over 100! Yikes! CRIKEY! (We've been watching the Crocodile Hunter movie a bunch--Tyler's first exposure to Steve Irwin).

We had some rain come through overnight and after that my migraine went away. It's crazy, but after somebody at work pointed out to me that some people's migraines are linked to weather, I started keeping track of it and sure enough, when I get a whopper of one, a day or no more than 2 days later there's a change in weather. Crazy, huh?! People have told me the change in pressure in the air does that, sort of like how people with arthritis can tell you a day or 2 ahead of weather change. And my dad's dog used to act squirrelly the day before a storm and the vet said it was the same reason. Strange! But whatever the reason, my migraine is gone!

We slept until 9:30am!!!! Tyler tried waking me up at 6am, but I told him just lie down with me for a minute and fortunately he fell back asleep for 3 1/2 more hours. :woohoo: We never sleep this late!

I asked my doc for muscle relaxers and she told me no since I don't get migraines too often anymore with the stuff I take to prevent them. Bummer. She's never really accepting to anything I say. Usually barely talks to me. Quite often when the appointment is done, she just walks out and it takes me a couple minutes to realize, "Oh, I guess we're done." :sad2:

Well, the parade starts in an hour, so we're headed out soon! :yay: Have a great day everybody!

I am so glad you are feelin better Holly. I always love reading your posts about you and Tyler!! Sorry about your doctor's attitude. Sounds like time to change doctor's!!

John and I are spending our anniversary (today) in Reno with friends. Plan to see fireworks and have a wonderful late dinner.

No you're not, we have to head straight home too. We won't get home until Monday and will take Tuesday to try and overcome the jet lag, back to work on Wednesday after a full 3 weeks off. :sad2:

I think we will fly back on an early Tuesday AM flight if we don't come home Sunday. Have to wait until the time is closer as will depend on John's work schedule.

Weather here in Reno may get up to 105 which will not rival the 122 in Phoenix but TOO hot for me to go outside. Luckily hotel has a lovely spa and indoor pool.

Samantha still has not found an internship so is working at her lifeguard job for the city of Palo Alto. She is working today and will get triple time for 8 hours. She is saving every time and we are very proud!!

Happy Anniversary Noel and John. How many years? It is our 38th tomorrow.

Enjoy the meal and fireworks.

That seems hot for California. Should be a lovely evening though.

Just wanted to be sure a member of our thread got the 20K.

Well done!

Nice to see you here Noel. Hope you are contuinuing to be well.

Best keep your wallet in the room with the history of Spas in Reno!

We are in Truckee, staying at Old Greenwood. We went to Wild Goose last night for dinner and fireworks http://www.tahoemountainclub.com/index.cfm?event=club_amenities&id=41.

Today, we will head to some family friends from Woodside at their place in Tahoe City. Don't think we will stay up for the fireworks tonight...it was a long night with the little one.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY EVERYONE!

Happy 4th to everyone who celebrates it!

It's going to be a hot one here in Murrieta today....108, which is hotter than normal for this time of year. We normally don't see temps like that until August and at that it's only for a few days. Fortunately we're going to my friends house for swim and BBQ.

Have a great one!

It's a small world Jan....we lived right off of Rt. 191 in the Spring Garden Townhouse Apts. for about 4 years until the rents went up past $1,000 a month. Then we moved to Elizabeth St right across from Moravian College and stayed there two years and paid $500 a month for a 3 BR apt. We saved for two years and bought the house that we're in now. We moved North because the housing was a lot less expensive and we have almost 3 acres.

We love Musikfest and try to get there every year. We definitely overlapped for a year.....we moved there in August 1993....it IS a small world!:cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2:

Our sons went to Spring Garden Elementary--the older one for the end of 5th grade and the younger for the end of 1st up to 5th. Then East Hills Middle School. The older one graduated from Freedom High School, Moravian College and got a Masters from Lehigh University--he is the one who got engaged on the WONDER and married on Fire Island in May. The younger made it to the end of 7th at East Hills and then we put him in Bethlehem Christian School because his unique perspective on the world and IQ (marches to a different drummer geek type kid) got him singled out for abuse from other kids at public school.

Just think--we might have been in the grocery store at the same time. SMALL WORLD:cheer2:

Happy 4th July to all my new found US friends.

We are going to DL for 3 or 4 nights. I have just booked the Candy Cane Inn. There is no way I would get John in a tux I'm afraid, but he does have a nice dark suit. I really don't know what I will wear as I don't 'do' dressy very well. I would have loved John to hire a tux, but it was part of the deal to get him on a cruise in the first place as all he could think of was being all dressed up every night!!!

I am sure I will be using the same clothes over and over!!! Mix and match skirts and tops. Thankfully we will be on upgraded flights accross the atlantic so I can bring more clothes!!! Some airlines only allow 1 bag 20Kilo!!!

Mix and match skirts and tops with different jewelry makes different outfits!

Thanks! I wish I could switch doctors. The plan I have assigns a doc to me. Fortunately she's retiring next month, so I should be receiving something in the mail soon telling me where I'm to start going when she's gone.

I never heard about weather being a factor in migranes but can vouch for the arthritis aspect of it. I wonder if a future treatment regime might include pressurzied cabins like people who get the bends from ascending from scuba diving too fast.

It rained on our parade today. Not heavy, just drizzly the whole time. A bit chilly, but we still had a good time! :goodvibes Went out for lunch afterwards. Just Fazolis, but that's one of our favorites. Since it's supposed to keep raining all day, we're not going to a park like I had planned. Will make this a cleaning day instead. House desperately needs it! Tyler's waiting for me to get off here because he doesn't want to clean alone (even though it's all his stuff all over the floors)! :rotfl: Will probably go to bed early tonight because of how late we were out last night watching fireworks!

Have a great day all!
