Did I tell you guys that we saw the last shuttle launch from the Magic?

We missed the welcome aboard show, but what a show on deck 10!

The Captain parked the Magic offshore, and we watched the shuttle take off! They put the NASA live feed on the Dumbotron too!

It was sooooo cool!

A once in a lifetime opportunity....especially onboard the Magic....how lucky can you get!

Karin - we will miss you :sad1: - but have a great time on your other cruise. Can't wait to hear all about it.

We love the Ruins we have been to - Chaccohoben, Tulum and Xcaret Eco Archaeological Park (in Cozumel) were all wonderful.

I'll keep an eye out for you at Target (I was there tonight!)

Lisa, we were in Tulum and still think it's the most beautiful beach we have ever been to....we loved it there!
:cheer2: :cloud9: :cheer2:

I thought you guys might want to see some more Bobby photos . . .

Did I tell you guys he attended the wedding onboard? A DIS'er got married, and we were all invited to the wedding - even Bobby. After this photo, they had to cut him off.

So Bobby IS old enough to drink...what a lush!

Deb,

Did you sleep at all last night?

Karen

I have a weird sleeping schedule depending on how I feel....I'm not on the clock like the rest of the world....I stopped working five years ago and now I'm on disability....I have lots of things wrong with me healthwise. I do the best I can, but some days are spent sleeping and so I wake up at weird hours of the night. When we cruise, I take steroids just to keep going, but can't stay on them long term.

That's why I have an irratic posting schedule too. Ya just never know when it's going to be a good day or not. Lately, it's been very stressful with the DGS Tom situation, so I'm feeling drained and sleeping more often....then I'll wake up a couple of times during the night.:confused3  :confused3

Well today my angel graduated from preschool!!! Hard to believe. It was so cute to see him so proud of himself!

Here he is with his two teachers:

and here he's saying the pledge of allegiance, which he memorized!!!

How adorable....that's your baby....they do grow so quickly...enjoy them while they're still young. :cloud9:

The itinerary was we left Honolulu at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Kauai from Mon. morning overnight until 12:30 Tues., Hilo on Wed., Kona on Thurs., Maui Fri. morning until 9:30 Sat. night, disembark in Honolulu Sunday a.m.

My friend and I planned this as primarily a way to scuba dive in Hawaii so 3 of our 5 1/2 days in port were taken up by that. We rented a car on the other days and I felt like we got to see quite a bit. We had 5 hours on Kauai to drive around, a whole day at Hilo and a whole day on Maui. I felt like I got a good overview of every port and now have an idea of where I'd like to go back to and what I'd like to spend more time seeing. (This was essentially my first trip to Hawaii BTW). Also re: car rental, we picked up 2 of our our rental cars the night before (Kauai and Maui) as was suggested by the travel & shopping consultant on the ship. She told us where we could park for the night. It made it much nicer to have the car first thing in the morning and just take off!

I would consider doing the trip again and not scuba diving, just to have more time to sight-see. I thought the ship was fine, pretty w/tropical decor. Our stateroom was fine, also. We had the cheapest cabin, an inside, it was roomy enough although a little tight when all the diving gear was laid out to dry! Really didn't spend much time on the ship at all, only went to one show, mostly in the evening we were tired, ate and went to bed.

The only thing I thought was not good was the food--and I mean NOT good. If I went again I would skip the dining rooms entirely and go to the buffet for all meals. The buffet was OK cafeteria-style food; I just thought of it as fuel. HOWEVER--they had REAL hand-dipped ice cream, which was delicious, and good coffee, both of which I quite enjoyed!

We went to the dining room 4 times--3 of the times the service was extremely slow and the food not good. One time the service was OK and the food not bad--unfortunately they both didn't occur on the same night!

Re: the "freestyle" concept--the first night we were going to try the dining room the wait was 90 minutes! (we didn't stay) The next night we went at 5:30 and were seated right away but waited so long for our food that we left before we got dessert--we were just tired of waiting and decided to go get ice cream. The other nights we went to the dining room about 9-9:30 and again were seated pretty quickly. Never went again at "normal" dinner time. The one morning we went to the dining room for breakfast (because the buffet lines were 20-30 minutes) we waited about 20 min. to be seated. Food was nothing special so we went back to the buffet after that.

On my Disney cruises I've always had late seating so never felt rushed to get to dinner, plus it suited my internal clock as I come from AZ so I'm 3 hours behind eastern time--eating at 9 p.m. is like 6 p.m. for me. Personally, I'd rather have a set dining time and know I'll be seated without a wait--but that's just me.

Summing up and to answer your question: yes, I felt it was a great way to see several islands, there was quite a bit of time to sight-see and I'd do it again.

What was your favorite Island...where would you want to go back and spend more time???

And DCL when are you going to take us there???
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Good morning.

I don't think the MIL is the problem other than she tries to keep the FIL happy. LoL. He and SIL are the complainers. So poor MIL gets stuck making the plans in the hopes that FIL won't complain. I gave up on this years ago.

We are doing the Segway tour on November 24th. We will be in Disney from Nov 21st to Dec 2nd. Very excited to see all the christmas decorations.

We're there from 25th Nov to 10th Dec, with a 4 night cruise from 2nd Dec!! We might just see you then!:)

I know something that no one else knows....it's Kaylee's (fourmcds) birthday today!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!!! :yay: :cheer2: :flower3: :bday: party:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Have a great day.

What a great experience. We actually saw this launch from the car park of the royal Pacific Resort. It was amazing the whole sky lit up. This December we disembark that day. It will be tempting to hang around if the launch is go!

Did I mention (gloating...) that we got Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's during our stay in November?

So excited!!!

Karen

I would love to do this but I fear there will be so many foods we don't like.

DD has been home sick all day. I hope that she will be feeling better by tomorrow. Scratchy throat, fever, stuffy nose.

I hate it when she's sick...

Karen

Hope she is feeling better today.

That explains it Deb! I wondered how you could keep up with so little sleep. How horrible for you though. I hate being awake in the night but as I get older it happens more often - much less sleep than I used to have.

Good Morning Marilyn...any more hooping classes??? What's your day like today? Going shopping, cleaning or walking? Loved the pics of all your favorite sweets. I have a sweet tooth too and they all looked delicious to me.

I have some items to return in the mail, hope I have enough energy to get it done today. DGS Tom will be coming over after school today, he helps me get some things done around the house then I'll drive him home. He only has a couple more days of school left, then I'm not sure he'll be coming over anymore. He'll probably get a summer job.
:flower3: :goodvibes :flower3:

Missed that post Deb with the Dis going down.

I was supposed to go to hooping class today but the instructor is ill, so going to do an aerobic one instead!

Baby sitting tonight for son and daighter in law so no internet tonight!! They are connected, but have it so it denies access from anyone else!:) Mind you when it is evening here and I am here chatting, you all are busy working or doing other nice things. Very quiet on here during my evenings.

It is very grey at the moment and a bit cool. It should be warming up though.

We are off at the weekend to visit John's mum. She has got to that point where how ever many times you go it is not enough, and it is quite hard for John driving the 5 hours after a busy week. Certainly don't mind visiting her, but before we leave she is asking when we are going again and then constantly every phone call. I feel for her daughter who gets the brunt of the care as John's mum has never been an easy woman, even before she aged. Needs doing though as you never know when it will be the last time and really she doesn't have too great a quality of life, so if it gives her pleasure to see us(well John) then that is a good thing.

How adorable! What a cutie pie he is! :goodvibes I love it when kids are filled with pride about an accomplishment. :thumbsup2

love the preschool grad pics!! So cute!! I keep thinking that will be Samantha next year!

I have had a couple of requests to be put on the new list for fish extenders so I thought it might be a good idea to post again that there is a cost of $25 for the extender and $5 priority shipping in the US. I will try my best to get started on these again by the beginning of August or before so if anyone wants them for a cruise before the May one I should be able to get it out.:thumbsup2 If you are interested in being put on the list just let me know.

Carol

Happy Belated Birthday, Kaylee, from another fellow b-day person on June 2.
It's a good day to be born.

The Shuttle Launch pictures are awesome! How cool to have seen that from the Magic.

Drew's graduation. How cute! He was surrounded by cuties. Mom, you better be prepared for when he's a teenager.

Bobby Banana is quite the partier. Hey, who's that holding Bobby while his picture is on the Dumbotron? That looks like quite a pirate (CM?).

Well, I was at Paradise Valley Mall, yesterday, near JCPenny's and yes, I bought am Auntie Anne's bagel dog. I didn't get the cheese through. I didn't know that was part of the deal. It was delicious. Also, I was trying to be good. I lost 2lbs so far. I'm right there with Holly at NOW just under 200lbs.

I'm still trying to recover from the weekend. I didn't take Jack with me. He didn't arrive until Monday, but I'm sure to take him on my next adventure.

I hit my mid-life crisis in July 2003. My DH is still waiting for me to come back down to reality. I refuse. Here's a picture from my latest touch with my mid-life crisis.
