Looks like I'll be smacking around some folks from Fed Ex tomorrow!
Good luck! I think my house is in a black hole. I often have people send things that never arrive. So far, they've all been through ebay and I was able to get my money back each time. Plus the party supplies....those were from pinatas.com and they also gave me a full refund, including what I paid for FedEx next day delivery. Hmm....maybe FedEx just doesn't like coming to my house. Come to think of it, I see lots of UPS trucks going down my street, but NEVER FedEx. Maybe there was a big fist fight between the UPS and FedEx driver on my route and UPS won, so FedEx was forced to stay off UPS's turf.

OK.....I think it's seriously time for me to get some sleep! Getting loopy here!

Just checking in from the home of the NBA Eastern Conference Champions!

GO CAVS!

What a series!

Congratulations!

Really don't like the way Rasheed Wallace plays and acts on the court! We were cheering on the Cavs the whole playoffs. We wanted to meet them to play for the championship.

Being Suns fans, we don't like San Antonio much either.

So GO CAVS! You have fans in Phoenix!

We are going back from september 27th until october 6th. Anyone planning to attend MNSSHP on october 4th?

We will be in Orlando on October 5th and hope to sneek in a few hours. Haven't had time to check of MNSSHP is scheduled that night. We hope so because we had a great time there last fall. We board the Magic on October 6th - can't wait, only a hundred and something days to go!

I have been reading everything everyone has been posting, but too exhausted to comment and catch up . . .

Not a very good day. Rough day at the office, and when I was getting ready to leave, Amy called with bad news - leak in the waterbed. We have had a water bed since we were married. The first one was one of those kind you usually think of - bookcase type, big sideboards, dark ugly wood, etc. About 3 years ago we made a switch to one that looks like a traditional bed, but has tubes filled with water hidden in the mattress.

I have really loved our waterbeds, and other than on the Magic, I usually sleep badly on other beds.

Well, I called the store that sells water beds in town, and he told me he sells the tubes - $25 each, or all 10 for $200.

I get home, and start to try and figure out what to do. There was not much water that got out, it is all in the liner, and I am trying to figure out what tube is leaking, but they are ALL wet! Impossible to figure out easily or quickly which one is the leaker, and I do not want to sleep on the couch tonight. So I resign myself to buying all 10 new tubes.

Get to the store at 7:00, and the guy says, "oh, you have a King size, I have to order those, takes about 2 days!":scared1:

So what are my options here . . . he does have the big "bladders", and I can buy two of those for $250. I don't know if any of you have a waterbed, but the WORST part is filling up the bed - seems to take FOREVER.

While I am trying to figure out if I can get to another store before closing, he tells me I do have another option . . . switching it to an "air" bed. Now that sounds intruiging - no more hoses and water, I can set my side to my own level of comfort . . . sounds good. But the glorified canvas "raft" that goes inside costs $350! :scared1: Oh, and by the way, the toaster sized computerized air pump that blows it all up is another $320! :teacher: :scared1: :scared1:

Options are running out, as is time. My choices are very limited if I plan on sleeping on my own bed . . . so there goes $670 all in the name of a good night's sleep. So once I am done catching up, I will find out if sleeping on air is better than water. Sorry for the long post - what an ordeal!

Had to respond to this one . . . COOL! We can use the help. No one is giving us much of a chance. Rasheed was a real chump! I LOVED it when he got the double T in the game and got tossed - DESERVED it!

Thank you for everyone's advice. It was helpful in our thought process. It looks like we are going to stay at The Villas at Wilderness Lodge. We are planning on using our points, so it just didn't make sense to stay at GF or Poly. Those are two places we really want to stay at though. The only downfall with WL is that we have stayed at the Grand Californian at DL probably 10 times. After waying all the pro's and con's, it just seems like the best thing to do. It will still be different and a ton of fun.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

Am I dominating the thread or what!?!?!?!

How insane is this - have a doctor's appointment that needed to be scheduled in Scottsdale. Well, a certain sale starts on Wednesday at Shawn's work, so I made the appointment in the afternoon so I could hit the sale beforehand! Bad part is, don't get to see Shawn much for the next 10 days. At least they only have three sales a year - whose kidding who - I would hate to have his job!

Never been to the GC, but I think you will really like it at VWL. Just remember to take some time to sit in the lobby some evening and unwind. It is such a beautiful place.

Oh, and if you eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe, you have to ask for the ketchup!:rolleyes1

Ok, so now I am taking over the thread . . . :dance3:

Know exactly how you feel. Yesterday our DE filter chamber thingy decided to literally blow up in a million pieces! Guess 6 years of sitting in the Arizona sun baked it to the cracking point. Luckily we were in the backyard when it happened. Water was shooting 20 feet in the air, above our roof! Someone had the bright idea to run over and turn off the pump - without a stick! Got a little bit of a electrical shock - knew it might come, so was quick handed. Even knowing this, why this really smart person just didn't grab a stick in the first place :confused3 ! Could have been a pretty serious mistake.

Called today it the nice replacement only runs $600.00 not including labor. Ouch!

Done for the night - have to run and pick up Jenna from dance class. Didn't want to sit with the gossiping mom's tonight.

Ohhhhhhh . . . this weekend is recital time . . . can't wait for that!

Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Good night everybody.

To our West Coast Friends, as Tom Bodette would say, we'll leave the light on for you . . .

I've been unable to get to the boards for what seems like forever. Between just not feeling well to being away on the weekends it looks like I'm at least a couple of hundred pages behind. I will probably not be able to catch up so I hope I haven't missed anything important.

Anybody else in the group a Type 2 diabetic? I just started this new medication that alleviates the need for insulin shots and helps with weight loss. (it's no wonder! I've been sick to my stomach for almost 3 weeks now.) Anyway I have to figure out how to keep this med refrigerated on the cruise.

So, I missed you all. It's so funny how I feel like I know many of you already because you share so much of your lives. I sometimes think I shouldn't share to much of mine as I don't want to seem whiney with the negative stuff or bragging about the positive. It's a little hard for me to let lose.

:rotfl2: I forgot all about him! Goodnight John! Sorry about your waterbed fiasco. What are you sleeping on tonight?

hmmmm seems I had this same story told to me just a few weeks ago...from my sister. She gave up the ghost and bought a good mattress ($1500) and is very happy. okay I gave her the advice. We also invested in a good mattress a few years back and have never slept better. (I'm not a water bed fan, never had one and can't sleep on them) perhaps I was trying to convert her???:confused3

wow John!! When I first met John2, he had the traditional water bed as well!! :)

IDK, I have been in such a funk it seems since the beginning of the year. I am not sure what is wrong with me....everything really. I just hope to snap out of it this summer!

I just made 4 weekends worth of Gator game reservations....this will be the first year we are keeping all four of our seats (we usually sell off two to finance the next year!!!!!) and will have the girls and since the first two games are at 6pm (we live 3 hours away) and Tenn at 3:30 all back to back weekends I decided we needed to stay, I looked at it before, and thought I booked one or two but I don't have any confirmations?? Also booked FSU and homecoming weekend....managed one nighters for ALL except homecoming only becasue we want to run in the Gator Gallop and go to Gator Growl the night before the game. (so I need to give up something for all this spending!!)

The girls were very good tonight. We came home, ate and then I bathed them sep, and hooked Samantha up on the kitchen counter to wash her hair without getting her ear wet ---- Haley of course, wanted the same treatment! Who on earth wants to lay on a hard kitchen counter when you could be in the tub?? Then we painted toenails and fingernails and all willingly went to bed......I hope there is no more sickness to come!

I don't think anyone here is a Gator fan, and I have heard everything about our basketball coach today. Most of the guys at work are saying how can you believe anything he says?? I think at the thought of $27 mil I would say YES right away as well...and now, I don't know what happens. I know we were prepared to let our recruits go where they wanted but I think it isn't about money so much as being comfortable, knowing your surroundings, knowing what your Gator Nation expects of you. I would be willing to bet all I have Spurrier would, in hindsight, have stayed, esp if our stupid AD was gone. (who wanted him to interview instead of looking in the rophy case!)

I hope Billy goes with his heart --- which I truly think is with the younger players, whether it be with UF or not. I know - not in this capacity - what it is to "waffle" on a job....the grass always looks greener, doesn't it?

Me! The only thing I take is Metformin (no insulin). My mom is also and her doctor had her on something (I totally can't think of the name but it starts with B - maybe?) made her very sick to her stomach. they had her stop it and then wait 10 days and retry it. Same results - her doctor was positive it couldn't be this med as none of his other patients had this problem. they are trying something else now.

As for the fridge - have your doctor fill out the medical form and indicate you need a fridge for the meds and fax it to Disney. They will provide real fridges for people who need them for medical reasons.
