You'll have to tell us what the scariest ending in horror movie history is! I barely sat thru the first one...!

Will do. We actually didn't see the first one in the theater. I love horror movies but prefer slasher type over gross-out types. Finally rented the first one and we were surprised we really enjoyed it (ok maybe enjoy isn't the right word for this type of movie...) the bonus behind the scenes shorts on the DVD were very entertaining and gave a real look into what all goes into making the movie.

There is a reason why the foreclosure and bankruptcy rate is so high out here.

I make a decent income, and live in a manufactored home in a park. House is paid for, but space rent is over $600 a month. Average rent is going to run you $1500 a month for a 2 bedroom 2 bath and that is out here in the Inland Empire/San Bernardino County. Out there, double that at least!!!!

San Diego - we pay $1230 a month - 2 bdrm 1 1/2 baths - 900 sq feet. And they keep talking about raising it! Its gone up $150 in 2 years.

OK Laura, maybe I should put this another way . . .

Why aren't you moving to Ohio?!

We are hoping to get back to PA - we miss the seasons. Especially fall. Ok and fairs. Who goes to a fair to eat sushi and fish tacos - I want things deep fried and served on a stick - spent a lot of time each year at the Bloomsburg Fair while going to college.

.....the more I read about CA....Delaware is looking better and better....10 mins. from the beach, all four seasons in moderation....not -20 in winter and not 100+ in summer, no state tax, no sales tax, only $60k for 5 acres and we're building our own house.
:cloud9: :cutie: :cloud9:

Delaware would be good too! Love the no sales or state tax deal.

Nothing against CA - I know you guys love it out there, but I would feel more comfortable in FL too - except for that homeowner's insurance V! Let me know if you see something down there V.

what's on the block now is " if you write in Fl, you have to write in ALL of Fl!" The housing market now is def a buyer's market. Florida is hot, has seasons (many communities) and is not for everyone, but when your commute is 20min or less, you pay no state tax and WDW is a hop away ---- what more could you want? (AND YES, BRING AMY HERE!!!)

I LOVE the fact that FL is just down the coast 12-14 hrs by car (John does not like flying) and we can go there to play anytime. It's my favorite vacation destination....it has a BIG Mickey's house and it already has the Mickey ships....and so many other great things to do too. It has the CA weather all year long and beautiful beaches too. I'm not a skier, so I wouldn't go to do that. But it can get hot in FL too. That's why I love it for vacation and play....you can always stay wet or in air conditioning.

It will be interesting to see how I feel after this cruise when I get to spend a week in LA for the first time.

does this include escrow?

:scared1: I know what ours went up this year --- it still pains me! I wish our salaries went up as much!

John - the homeowner's is not so bad on newer homes. It so happens ours is the set from the movie "Blast From the Past" (serious - watch it, that is my oven and I LOVE it! hate the kitchen!)

As you guys know I love Delaware!! My county taxes just doubled on a house with a value of $900,000....my taxes were $500 and now they are $1,000!! Best deal in the world!!

My taxes on my "real house" (not worth anything like the beach house) are close to $8,000 this year.

She would love being close to you guys. But it is still HOT there! Let me know if you see something in the paper!

Cavs lose by 9 - not a very good game. :sad2:

On a $250k house, our taxes are about $3,000 for the year. But our homeowner's insurance is really cheap compared to a FL rate . . . I think it is less than $300 a year!

Mostly chitchat Lisa, and some new folks. Not much missed but some nice communication.

This is for rent - forgot that word in my first post. We aren't buying as we know we don't plan to stay and have been trying to find a job on the East Coast for Darrell for awhile.

JOHN ---- IF YOU GUYS are considering CA - I am going to smack you! FL is WAY better....!

although I am a bit jealous. Not in locale.....at all! But I know I could go here and there and make a lot more, I truly don't want to. I think you and Amy both know a bit of my earlier changing job struggle. Now I simply want to go SOUTH - island south! And of course, I would love to do something different thatn crunch numbers, although now I am getting back a bit more to my retail upbringing with neg cc fees, etc. Fun stuff!!

Don't worry, Amy is going to smack me first! I've had fun kidding her about it tonight, and she is not amused. She kept telling me how far from FL it is!

(somehow missed posting this. Too many tabs open!)

Hey, just noticed I got 18,500! pirate: pirate:

Night all!

Thanks John, I miss you guys.

I caught that you are sending your resume to CAL to the Guitar Center. My DH and DD17 and ALL of his friends love that store, We have one in Fairfax VA.

Don't know anything about the management or financial status, I just know we spend a lot on money there!!

Hi Lisa, I was wondering where you were.....we miss hearing from you!!!! Sounds like you have got a lot going on. We'll be here whenever you have time.

Nothing unusual going on....the usual chit chat and adding new people and some cancels.....I will let you know if anything comes up that you might want to be included in or know about.

When does your exchange student get here?

Looking forward to hearing all your stories about the med cruise. AuntyBrat had some good and some not so good experiences on her med crossing, you might want to read that post....it was back some 10-20 pages.

Good to see you checking in when you can.
:cool1: :cool2: :cool1:

This is cheap for rent.....in Centreville the cheapest apt is about $2,000 per month...
Downtown DC my niece pays $5,000 for a 4 bedroom....she shares with 3 other girls.....right on Dupont Circle (upscale safer area of DC)
