I am following your saga - wish I had some ideas that would help. Airfare was the major reason why we did not do a Med Cruise. It made me crazy thinking about it!

I hope you can get things to work out, and just wonder how they could do that to you at travelocity - keep us posted.

This is an eye opener for me with Travelocity. I thought when they took your money you had a contract of some sort. Expedia did not book our flights last Dec until the day of departure and there were no seats on the return flight for us. We found this out when we arrived at the airport and the electronic check in would not work. They had not booked our outbound since the return was not available. But....they did find us a flight (took a day) and there was no extra charge. I guess I just assumed that was their responsibiity as they had accepted my money. But then I'm not an attorney.

I will check Virgin....good tip...I had not thought of them.

The flights we are looking at are $1100 Air France Dulles (IAD) to Barcelona (BCN)

I did check Aerlingus....JFK (New York) to BCN.....they were $1,200 round trip.

They said it will take 30-60 days for the refund to process....in the mean time I need to come up with a quick $10,000 to buy new tickets.....

If anyone wants to look and likes to find airfare....

We will fly from IAD - Dulles, BWI - Baltimore, JFK - New York, or Philadelphia.

We need to be at our cruise on Sat July 28th...so the 26th or 27th.

We need to fly to BCN Barcelona

Returning - the cruise ends on 8-8-2007...disimbark at 7am

I've always used Travelocity. Now, of course, I'm thinking twice about ever booking through them again. I usually call the airline and double check everything directly with them--sometimes I call two and three times....

Welcome back! Wish I could meet you all at the DIS meet. This week-end is auction crazy. First our elementary school auction which can be insane. One couple donated a $45,000 sports car. It is crazy bidding and fun to watch (as a bystander!). Then we have the Meals on Wheels auction on Sunday. My goal is to get through the week-end without raising my hand. I just need to think....need to save it for May 2008!

Thanks I am still looking. This was a new site and they had British Airways Dulle to Barcelona for $939 and I got excited......except to find out it did not include $250 worth of taxes.

Any other ideas....I am open .....

I'm sure you already thought about it, but you have no points or anything? Or know anyone that has points that they will sell you? Ebay maybe? I have bought upgrades. Not sure how it works. There isn't anything illegal about buying other people's points...it is usually just against the program rules. But maybe Ebay or Craigslist...I saw one for Virgin in the SFO Craiglist where at least your $1200 would get your business class. Of course, your dates might be all blackout dates...I'm not sure. OK....somebody on my other meet thread just posted a question that will help the newbies here understand our obsession a bit more. Here goes: At what point do you have the best feeling on the ship and at what point do you have the worst? For many people it would be stepping on the ship and getting off at the end. Anything more specific?

Here's mine -- Best feeling onboard: every chance I get to sit on the balcony when out in the middle of the ocean, just watching the water go by, and hearing that splashing sound against the side of the ship. Worst feeling: hearing my alarm wake me up the morning we get off the ship.

WAY, WAY BEHIND... But I'll go for this one!

Best feeling: Hearing the ship horn "when you wish upon a star"...

Worst feeling: Having to pack up ALL our goodies from the cruise, knowing that IT'S OVER!!

I love WHITE MERLOT!! My favorite. I am going to see if I can order from here...I think VA is one of the states you can not hsip wine too....maybe I will have to have it shipped to the DL house....I worry about that as I am not usually there.

We can ship to VA, so I'm sure that others can!

Hi everyone!

Back from our wonderful cruise and Orlando holiday at last! Had an awful flight home, delayed for hours on Saturday night, so I'm now trying to wade through a very large pile of laundry etc

I can't beleive there are over 100 pages to catch up on, I'll never get through that so forgive me all that I've missed!

we were so sorely tempted to just stay on the Magic on Saturday instead of flying home, really wish we'd done just that! Our server was saying that they were even closing the late seating at dinner because there were so few people on board! Guess we'd have got a really good deal if we'd been able to book it onboard

Anyway....the best bits of the trip.....

The couples spa villa....out of this world!!
Seeing dolphins swim alongside the ship as we entered Cozumel harbour...
The great service by Disney staff on board....
Palo, as always....
The beautiful weather.....
Disney Dreams...the enhanced version....made me cry several times....
Our lovely table mates at dinner...the wonderful MacDonald family from Washington State (hi Lisa & Doug)....


The not so good bits...

Disney staff not enforcing their own rules (mainly about dress, smoking, and under 18's in Quiet Cove...

...oh and having to come home!

Missed you all...Deb (Ellaenchanted), thought of you as I sipped my mimosa on our anniversary!

This is why I think we can't fly out on that red-eye the day of the cruise. I think we just have to bear the wrath of an angry school and leave a day before just in case.

And this is why we always use a Travel Agent! It helps that my sister is our Travel Agent!!

Disneylover, I'm so pleased you have flights!!! What a relief, even though you had to downgrade cabins. Travelocity - not good!!! I really hope you get a free upgrade at the time, but whatever you will have a brilliant time!

I had their amazing Mushroom bisque and DD had the Ceaser.

DH had their mixed greens salad.

Third Course:

Orange and Poppyseed Waffles with fresh berries and whipped brown sugar sour cream!

Poached eggs and a skillet seared Colorado Lamb Chop with Country Corn Bread, Jalapeno Hollandaise and black beans!

Oak roasted Halibut with tomatoes, fennel and Meyer lemon vinaigrette!

Fourth and Final Course:

Scharffen Berger Flourless Chocolate Cake with Spring Cherry Ice Cream and Port Wine Sauce:

Napa "Pick Me Up" Valrhona Chocolate-Espresso Mousse Cake with Bailey's Irish Cream & Coffee "Pot Au Creme".

Creme Brulee Tart with Fresh Raspberry Conserve

The food and service was just amazing and we had a truly Magical Meal!!

Whew! Finally caught up!

I had fallen asleep (on the couch as usual) and woke up to the DIS back up again.

Here is one last pic and I am off to bed!

Another great meal was our lunch at Blue Bayou!

We really enjoyed our meal and then we went on Pirates! We had a real Jerk behind us who, as we went by Blue Bayou, shouted out "don't eat the chicken" and then preceded to try and tell us to never eat there as he had "heard" that it was not very good.

I, of course, told him that we had just eaten there and that we had enjoyed yet another wonderful meal! AND, that we always go there because we have always enjoyed our experience!

We were too far into the ride or I would have also told him that he should try things for himself before bad-mouthing them! Would probably have fallen on deaf ears...

We had dinner at the Napa Rose our first night in DL too! Really fantastic, of course!

This is me with a glass of the Quilceda Creek 2002 Cabernet that we brought with us. It is the first 100 Point wine from Washington State. (Wine Spectator raiting).

Ok, I am really going to bed now!
