Holly...looks like you guys had a great day! Tyler looks so proud of his tree! What fun places to go.

Lisa (Liserann)...congrats to Drew! What a big week for him. My youngest hasn't gotten on the bike yet, but she has her first loose tooth and got registered for K a few weeks ago. I got teary when she showed me her loose tooth...not ready for my baby to grow up yet! What handsome boys you have. Sad...I look at that picture and think, "Oh, I wonder where they are?" and then I realize...no, that is probably in their backyard, they live in warm weather! How much longer does DH need to wear that cast? It has been on for quite a while now, right?

Lisa (disneylover5)...woohooo, having the cruise paid off probably makes it feel great! What kind of excursions are they offering? They are probably much different from the carribean/snorkeling type excursions they have now. Is the whole family going on that cruise?

John...have a great time in NYC. I had originally planned on heading there with the girls and DH for a weekend in July before my HS reunion, and DD(8) was so excited about seeing the statue of liberty and Ellis Island since they studied that this year. Unfortunately, I think only DH and I are heading back east and we will just hit my reunion in CT and no NYC for me:sad2: NYC is one of my favorite places and probably the biggest thing I miss about living on the east coast. Mom and I would head in and catch broadway shows all the time and then eat at Victor's (this amazing cuban restaurant in the broadway district). If you like Bongo's at DTD (or cuban food), Victor's is even better. Their sangria is so delicious and filled with the yummiest fruit. OK, now I really want to head there...a black & white cookie, a decent bagel, sangria, shopping (oh and the shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao: ).

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

It's nice and sunny here today but we may get some rain tonight. I think I am ready for summer!

We went to Hollywood yesterday and saw Wicked at the Pantages. It was a great show. Now I need to go buy the cd.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

Saw that here in SF as well, it was the Broadway preview with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Mendel!! So good, have had the CD in the car ever since! I think it will be 3 years this June!!

Karen

What is it you guys have been saying

Shama Lama Ding Dong....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Guess I am all by myself tonight....

I'm usually alone at this hour and I do one that is to the music of "on the road again"...

All alone again...

Digga dang, digga dang...

Good luck with the excursions in the wee hours, gosh, right about now actually!

I also LOVE seeing pictures of the kids and my DD on here! Proud parents, that's what we are!!

Have a great Monday... after all, tomorrow is another day!!

Take care,

Karen

We go to the movies almost every weekend and this was probably our favorite move for all of last year. Love the character driven nature of the story and how everyone seems like real people. (Ok and I'm from Bucks County where M.Night films all of his movies so thay always have a going home feel to them.) This was our top Christmas gift pick, we gave it to everyone we thought would like it.

As for the bedtime story references - it is definitely in the Brothers Grimm league and I think would scare most kids!

Don't you think that "Night" is an excellent (and attractive) actor as well as an amazing storyteller and director?

DH and I also thought that Paul Giamatti was brilliant and should have been Nominated AGAIN!!

Loved the characters as well, really well thought out and interestingly portrayed as well.

We hit a milestone this weekend with Drew on his first solo ride without training wheels (in addition to loosing his first tooth a few days ago and registering for KINDERGARTEN!!!!).....

Lisa,

That's a lot of first's for a mom to handle in one week!!

Great pics too!

The pics and the videos will keep all of those wonderful memories "new" for a long time!!

Enjoy!

Your boys are so cute!! I remember when Daniel (DS17) was going to kindergarten. I cried when I went and bought the film (before digital) at the grocery store!! My DH really thinks I am crazy.

It is really cool Drew is riding his bike before kindergarten.....that is a big deal. My youngest rode right before she turned 4. I know in school they talk about this and the kids that can ride are cool!!!

The excursions are awesome. This will kill you guys...for my family of 5 we are spending almost $5,000 on excursions.

Palermo - Mondello Beach
Naples - Pompeii, Sorrento, and Capri
Sardina - Coda Cavallo Beach
Rome – Jumping Back into Eternal Rome
Pisa - VIP Pisa
Marseille – None (I think)
Villefranche - Highlights of Monoco and Monte Carlo

This is Daniel's graduation present. Now, after the events of the past week, I know this money is well spent....it made paying off the cruise easy. I want to be with my kids as much as possible!!

When friends heard of our plans.....several decided to join us! There are 30 of us cruising together!!

We are spending 2 days post cruise in Barcelona, I will keep you guys updated on this cruise.

There is another family on our Westbound that is on the same Med Cruise as well. She is also on the Eastbound with us. ....so we are doing 3 cruises together. I have never met them, but we have e-mailed. Her name is Laura and she is active on the Med Thread and the Eastbound, She has posted a few times here. I think her screen name is Eyeore10 or something like that

I agree on all counts!!! :thumbsup2

any idea which night will be pirate night? And what type of menu rotations do they do on a repo cruise?

Great photos -- remember my DS riding his bike for the first time. Hope he has a great time in kindergarten. My DS had a fabulous kindergarten teacher named Mrs. Pepper. People would move into the neighbourhood just to have her as their child's teacher. She said in the interview that her entire focus for the year was to get the kids to like school since they had many more years ahead of them of it. Early in the year she had a bedtime story night -- everyone went back to school at about 7pm in their pj's and she read them all a bedtime story -- she was in her pj's too which the kids all loved. Great memories.

There was a great DING over the weekend so we've decided to go to WDW for the first weekend in June.  Can't beat $200 return for the two of us.

Way to go Drew! :woohoo: How cool about riding solo! Tyler can't even balance WITH training wheels.....he tips over all the time! :rotfl2: We're a long ways away from taking those wheels off! :lmao:

Gee, I thought the first tooth doesn't come out until kids are 6. Yikes! Guess I better start looking! Blech!

We register for kingergarten this Thursday. I'm so excited about having that $600/month day care cost go away! Well, I actually only pay 1/2 because his dad and I split the cost, so I'll have $300/month more for bills. It's really been a rough few months, so that will help SO much! Plus Tyler's excited about going to school. :yay:

Here are my pride and joy (can you tell I just downloaded my camera?!), from a few weeks ago....

family027.jpg
I just had to include the pic in my post because they're absolutely adorable! I just love their arms around each other!

Now why the heck would they go and do something mean like that?! I guess I'll have to go read it.
OK....the possible ideas that a couple people have speculated about do make sense. Just a bummer though. :sad2:

I know, door signs are one of my favorite things!! Now now DIS tag and someone sent DCL an email regarding fish extenders, if they would still be allowed.

Darn. We loved decorating our doors and only used magnets. We actually put up letter magnets and it's amazing the messages we get left just by people going by! Hope this ban doesn't last although I can see a problem with using tape.

Here is a post that was just added....

OK, well supervisor Dennis DCL came through with a researched answer...
The problem is door destruction. Some people have been using glue and tape to post their decorations. They are trying to discourage door decorations for this reason. However, if you use a magnet or magnetic strips that is fine. I told him I would post the info and get the word out about what not to use. Big sigh of silly relief.

So, in other words....who knows what the new "rule" really means!

At least we can still use our magnets although I don't know how they are going to enforce this.

My neighbor just came over with a flyer to do a Carnival cruise for October. It is during our kids fall break. It would be 5 days 4 nights and for all 4 of us to go it would only be 1,000. Which includes taxes and tips. I am thinking yes that would be a great way to break up my wait. She said she already has 70 people going. I know nothing about Carnival but I guess who cares if I get to get away.
