How's everyone's weather? I have to say this has been the oddest year for weather....it is now back to where I need the air on, yet the past two days we had the windows open??!!

still lovely here....really hoping it stays ncie for the weekend as my friend is getting married on Saturday!:cool1:

A dear friend of mine is a Christian Blogger. I wanted you guys to read her account of the church service last night for the Westfield kids. This really moved me.

That was wonderful thank you for letting us read it.

Thanks, Mandy! Having a better more productive day today!!

I'm sure that it's because of all the DIS Hugs and Pixiedust!!

Karen

Good! I'm over my hangover now thank goodness!:woohoo:

Off to pick up my friend from the station soon as she's staying for a couple of days. Then we are off home for the weekend to Southend on Sea where my friend gets married on Saturday. It's also Dad's birthday on Sunday so we'll be there for that too which is nice, and shall get together with my brother and sil for Sunday lunch at my parents.:woohoo: A busy weekend!

I'm a bit peeved though as I've looked everywhere for a red cardigan to wear with a black & white dress for the wedding...I have black shoes but a red hair flower, necklace and bag and wanted a little red shrug or cardigan to finish it off....can't find one anywhere!! All the reds I see are more orange or coral :( I'll have to try again on Saturday morning before the wedding I think.

Oh well! have fun everyone:yay:

Reds are so tricky, Mandy! I really prefer that deep blue red too!:thumbsup2

I do hope that you find it!! Best of luck! pixiedust:

Tree Limb Falls on Person Riding Boat at Disneyland

Person Suffered Minor Injuries

Apr. 18, 2007 (KABC-TV) - Anaheim Fire officials say a tree limb fell on a passenger who was riding a boat on the Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland on Wednesday.

Officials say the person suffered minor injuries in the incident, which happened at 12:40 p.m.

So far there is no word on whether the wind played a factor in the limb falling. People in Anaheim told Eyewitness News it was windy there on Wednesday afternoon.

I noticed that the Jungle Cruise was closed when I walked through Adventureland yesterday--it was probably a little after one. I didn't think much about it. It was really windy yesterday!

Recently we shared that Shawn's mother passed in our home a few years back. After Jenna was born, we ended up making a decision to build a new home. By the time our house was finished, Jenna was almost 18 months old. A few weeks ago, Jenna said "Can we take Kayla by our old house"? So, on our way to Costco, we drove by and Kayla said "Oh, I never lived there".

This morning while Leslie is getting for work, Kayla comes in after waking up and says "Mom, I just had a really neat dream". Leslie asked her what it was about. Kayla says "We all moved back into our old house, and you know who lives there - Daddy's mom! We got to live with our grandma and you know what - she is really nice"!

Kind of freaky! Jenna and Kayla don't know that their grandmother had passed away in our old house. Even that she had visited us in that house.

Your story reminded me of what my GD Bailey said after my mother passed away in 2003. Bailey told me GG was really happy because Heaven had a library. After my sister passed in 2004, Bailey told me GG was happy to see Karen (my sister) could now go shopping together again. Bailey didn't really know that these were the two things my mom and sister really loved to do together.

I think these stories are the most precious of all. Little children are so innocent and pure. My niece's little girl made a couple of similar remarks after my mom died. She was less than a year old when mom passed so never really knew her. I can't really remember them clearly at the moment--I'm feeling a little fuzzy this morning. I must be having a Disney hangover!:hippie:

I just checked my weather page after reading this. It looks like today is going to be nice and tomorrow is going to be...windy! Oh boy, I get to drive home in the wind! I hope it's not as bad as the trip over!:scared1:

As Christians, we believe God can bring light in the midst of darkness, hope in the midst of despair...what we believe matters most when the world seems the most dark and hopeless. When we feel helpless, it matters that we pray. When those around us are too devastated to pray, it matters that we stay with them and pray for them until they can see the light for themselves. Last night was about seeing some friends in a dark place, being willing to crawl into that dark place with them and bring our flashlight.

The service was beautifully planned and led by Don, Neil, Jeff, Sharon and Sammy. To each of you, thank you for allowing God to use you. What you did last night mattered and I am grateful to you. You shined a light in a dark place and made a safe space for others to join you.

Beautifully written--thanks for sharing this.

I am hopeful that in the coming days your life will return to some semblance of normality in spite of all the tragedy.

Well, it's amazing how sick some people can be. My son brought home a school letter yesterday that said there was graffeti at the nearby high school that said "Everyone at VMHS will die on 4/20" and "the bombs are already planted." Of course it's probably not true but the fear it instills is awful. I can't understand it.

I hope everyone is doing well. It's seems like there's a cloud over the nation...even the board seems to have less posts!!! I know the cloud will lift soon!!!

You're right, that's just sick. :sad1: And sad. :sad2:

On a brighter note, we're having what's probably our most beautiful day yet! It's sunny and supposed to hit 60! WOOHOO! :woohoo: I think tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. Might have to do some yardwork if my finger feels better by tomorrow. Crazy story....I had a hangnail that I pulled off over the weekend and it became infected! I've been putting antibiotic ointment on it, but this morning when I woke up, it looks quite disgusting (no need to describe the gross, infected details), and throbs non-stop. Going to try one more thing today: 2 co-workers told me to soak a tiny piece of bread in water, put that on the infected part and wrap it up. Supposedly it pulls the infection out. I'll give it a shot when I get home from work today, but if that doesn't work, I'll be headed to the doctor tomorrow. :guilty: This hasn't been a good month.

Poor Holly when it rains it poors.

My water heater went out yesterday morning and I was just thinking it was the pilot light. No such luck though when I went to check it out it was dripping.:scared1: So the guy is here putting a new one in right now. At least our tax check will be arriving soon. I am jumping in the shower as soon as he leaves. The funniest part about it was when he checked the code on the water heater it was from 1976.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your water heater. At least it only dripped, rather than bursting like some do. That happened to my dad and stepmom one day while they were at work. They came home to find their cat sitting on the kitchen table, glaring at them, because the whole floor was covered in water.

What a terrible thing to do!!

I am well and DH is very busy at work.

I agree the board posting seems to be way down. People seem to be very busy or somber.

Could be a bit of both. :sad1:

One of my guys here was doing his own typing today for some bizarre reason and the other has been doing a mediation all day, so I've had NO work most of the day! :woohoo: Plenty of DIS time, but not much to read. :upsidedow

I think people are in shock over the tragedy...

I have heard of that and the plumber said we were lucky it did not happen. I do need new floors though.:guilty: :rotfl:
