How about one of all of us at the Disney Visa Meet n' Greet . . .

Sorry not many more others - not too much computer time!

AAAAWWWWWWW.........I knew you'd come up with a great one to share with us! Sophia's such a cutie.....and what a great family photo! :thumbsup2

Where I come from, we call them trailer parks . . . and not always a nice connotation :rotfl2: If you have seen "Cars" Mater has a line where he says he is "happier than a Tornado in a trailer park!" That one had me:lmao:
:rotfl2: Tyler is such a huge Mater fan.....Runs around saying lots of his lines. But I get to see the man behind Mater soon! Going to see Larry the Cable Guy here in town 4/20 with 4 other girls.....FRONT ROW! :goodvibes

John, all the pics are great! I just love Sophia's smile on the carousel....adorable! Although Tyler was only 3 when we were at WDW, he still remembers the Barnstormer ride. It was his first rollercoaster ride ever. He only remembers that and the teacups. Hmmmmm.....I guess we need to try to go again soon! Probably after we get our taxes back next year. That would be a nice treat for him shortly before I leave him behind to go on this cruise. And he's been bugging me all the time to take him back to Sea World (went last May and he still talks about his favorite parts all the time), so we'd do that at the same time. Hmmmm.....I guess I'd better start planning! WOOHOO! Another trip to plan for! :woohoo:

I'm gonna have to skip the gym today. Feeling really run down and having difficulty staying awake since yesterday morning. I think my body is trying to fight off whatever virus Tyler had earlier in the week, which I think I had a touch of too because I did as much sleeping as he did those days off. So I'm going to sleep most of the day until I pick him up from his dad's, take Zicam in an effort to get rid of whatever's going on, and just plan on hitting the gym after work Monday before picking Tyler up. I did go Wed, Thurs, and Fri, so I don't feel too bad about skipping.

Sorry, too much boring information! So I'm off to have breakfast, go to the bank, and then back to bed for the afternoon. :thumbsup2 Have a great day everybody!

Amy wants to know if this qualifies her for membership . . .

Seen outside of France, somewhere in Epcot . . .

I might add this was immediately AFTER a sparkling red wine in Italy!

I LOVE seeing all the pics and hearing all the activity updates!!! Keep them coming...

Now, does this pic mean I should add Amy to the Champagne Girls tasters list??? Let me know....I would say she definitely appears to qualify!!:woohoo:

Also, DH Grumpy John watched the church moving program last night. He said it was pretty fantastic! Thanks for the heads up.

:wave2: :wave2:

Sophia with Brucie - Fish are friends, not food . . . .

John, I love this picture! Sophia is a cutie to be sure, no wonder Bruce gobbled her up!!!!

Well, yesterday Drew has his Kindergarten shots....that was a pure joy! :scared1: He's really strong so he managed to pull away as the needle was inserted, even with the doctor and me holding his arm tightly. So, now he has a scratch along his arm from the needle. Of course, once the needle went in he let out a SHRILL that I'd never heard from him before. He was NOT a happy camper. The lollipop at the end did help. It's funny when you have two children of the same sex to see how different they are. My oldest, Ryan is thin and lanky and Drew has a football player's body. At age 5 Ryan was about 50th percentile for height and weight....then there's Drew (aka bruiser) who at 5 is 80th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. No wonder when they fight Drew takes poor Ryan down. They're 4 years apart in age, but only 10 lbs apart in weight. Go figure. Well, like Lori, we're off to a day of soccer games..............:upsidedow

Poor Drew! :sad1: No fun! At Tyler's 4 year checkup, he wouldn't have needed any immunizations, but it was noticed that a HIB shot had been forgotten along the way. His doc told me that since this would be the first time he'd be old enough to remember the shot, bringing him back the following year would be a nightmare for the 4 he'd need then, so she gave me the option to do all of them at once that day. We did...and I'm glad we did because when I took him to the doc when he had strep not too long ago, he didn't want to go because he thought he'd need shots! :scared1: But I assured him that he won't need any for a while. :thumbsup2

They had a wonderful flank steak last night, which should satisfy the meat part. The potatoes were African spiced, but I liked them very much. I also had a WONDERFUL chicken corn porridge that was just delicious. There are a lot of vegetarian offerings, rices, hummas, etc. There is always mac and cheese and pasta on the kid's station!

The flatbreads are also very tasty.

we love Boma...it's one of the few places dd can eat lots of variety as she's a Vegan...

Thought I would share some pictures of Lily Ann.

Beautiful little girl, Carol! Congratulations :)

Okay, here is my Annie story for today. I was able to get her into the doctor at 10:30am. (Everyone was like what are you back for...was there yesterday with Gretchen's broken thumb).

Annie has strep, bronchitis and pneumonia!! They did not put her in the hospital. She is on 4 drugs, including steroids for her lungs. I just keep hearing over and over the teachers telling me "Annie is bouncing back" " Annie is better today" "Annie will be fine" The doctor said she is very sick. She is also contagious.

I called the head teacher and left her a message with Annie diagnosis, in case the other 6 still have fevers or if there are more fevers. I asked her to ring me back....but no surprise...no call.

Annie heard me leave the message and she said "Are you trying to make my teacher feel bad" .. I hate admit it, but I think I was trying to do that...(mouths of babes!!) I just feel like they were not good stewards of my very special child. If I had left her there, the pneumonia would have only gotten worse. No wonder, she could hardly walk in by herself.

I know I need to get over this...but I am still so angry.

I know Annie is feeling better now (still catching up with all these pages) but I'm sorry she was so poorly. I'd be so angry at that school!

I was playing with the pink tink idea, it was fun to dress her up. Use her, leave her, she is your to enjoy.

fab thanks PJ!!!!:thumbsup2

I think we should get a picture taken of our Champagne Girls too. That would be a good one to frame and put up behind the bar.:dance3:

YES YES YES!!!

Isn't that how it always happens....when you're content in your life and swear off meeting a man...when you least expect it, or rather, when you no longer expect it, then...voila...it happens!

It's amazing, so many stories are like that.

That's so sweet Marilyn, I love hearing "how we met" love stories. I want to hear more, ok everybody, how did you meet?

ok..here's our story...

Mark and I were both members of the DIS (UK) boards and used to pm each other as friends. In 2002 the boards crashed :scared1: and as we hadn't shared email ads or anything I thought that was it, then when they eventually got going again I had the sweetest message "I thought I'd lost you", from him, and after chatting on msn, another UK board, and by email I eventually agreed to meet him one day....you know how you tell your kids NEVER to meet anyone you talk to on the internet? :rolleyes1

It was a very tough time as I was still married (technically anyway) but we both knew from the first time we touched hands that we'd found our soul mate, that missing piece of jigsasw puzzle. We've been through a lot, especially with my dd, who has had to adjust to a very different life, but we're all a lot stronger for it.

We married in 2003, with our good friend from the DIS as a witness, honeymooned (where else) in Disney, and on our repo cruise next May will be celebrating 5 fantastic years of marriage :cloud9:

So, the DIS and the Mouse brought us together, it's Magic all the way.....

DH and I met on the internet in a chat room on Prodigy (are they still around? :lmao: ). We started emailing each other in January and had our first date on March 1st. It was a disaster and we both decided that we weren't each other's types. He lived in Mansfield and I lived in Columbus and we decided that even though we weren't each other's types we enjoyed emailing so we continued. One day he came down to do some work on my basement and we became friends. This was in '93 and we married in May of '94. I was 47 and he was 51. I had never been married and also had decided that I finally liked being single and he had been married twice and had no intention of marrying again (never say never :rotfl: ). We will be married 13 years this May. :cool1: Two of our daughters (the one with the new baby in CA and the one in OH) are from his first marriage, the third in WI is his step-daughter from his second marriage (she thinks of us as her parents, long story). So I guess the moral of many of our stories is never give up, the right one will come along when you least expect him.

Absolutely agree!!!!!:thumbsup2

Here's another romantic story - after tragedy that is.

Yes, Daphne and Peter married just 6 weeks after us in 1969. They were happy, but couldn't have children. After 5+ years, they managed to adopt twin 6 month old girls which was wonderful. Only a few months later Peter developed a brain tumour, successfully removed, but with the complication of a brain bleed. They sorted this in another operation, but he was left blind in one eye and with tunnel vision in the other. His personality also changed and other problems arose - I won't go into them. Eventually after deteriorating slowly he died when the girls were 14/15. She rebuilt her life, went on cruises(they had never been out of the country) and made new friends, and said she didn't want another man!

I can't remember how many years it was, possibly 7, she came accross the mother of her first love who she went our with from age 13 to 16. They got in touch, met up, (he had not long lost his wife to ), and well, they got married.(I think about 8 years ago, memory bad!!) How fantastic is that. He is lovely and they have a great life together! Makes me smile just thinking about it!

fabulous story:hug:

Thanks for the birthday wishes! It started out great. DH & the kids showered me with presents in bed before he took them to school.

Molly gave me a pedi gift cert to my favorite salon.
Paul got me a beautiful gold necklace to match a bracelet I got in Florence Italy
Wilson...made me a a gift certificate for a massage on the cruise :goodvibes
(I have to go back and look it at, I think he drew the Magic on it)

All fabulous gifts and such sweeties.

Love hearing the stories of how everyone met. Helicopter huh? That would have freaked me out too. (I flew little airplanes (2 seaters) when I was 15-26 years old) but helicopters still scare me.

I think I'll go get that pedi I'm up and awake so I better go enjoy the day :goodvibes

sounds like you had a lovely day Nan! Happy (Belated) Birthday!:flower3:

I met my DH at a party at my brother's house when I was 18. He had just got back from a one year tour with his "rock band" :hippie: out on Canada's East Coast. He was seated , with many friends around him, telling of all his great tales while away:goodvibes I was drawn to him, and listened along with everyone else. I met up with him a couple more times while at my brother's, then he asked me out for a first date for my 19th birthday:flower3: We were married when I was 21 (he was 24) and had a wonderful daughter and son together. We were married for 23 wonderful years and I never grew tired of listening to his stories:goodvibes We would constantly over the years meet up with people that knew my DH but that I didn't know and it would be so interesting to listen to them discuss days gone by...it seemed to be a lifelong journey getting to know my DH and I loved him more each day. I lost my dear husband to cancer 5 yrs ago :sad1: Even at his memorial I had a few strangers introduce themselves to me and say they had known my DH in school and how they remembered him because he was so kind, never a bad word about anyone, and for the wonderful stories he told :goodvibes We miss him terribly, but his love lives on with us forever.
Kathe

Kathe, what a poignant story,

Katy when will you be there in October? I will be there the 20th-26th.

I'm actually booked from Oct20-Nov 6 but will definately not be staying that long LOL. I am trying to find fairly decent airfare and am hoping for an AP discount. I have two different ressies right now, Oct20-30 is at CSR and I am hoping to keep this one. It would be great if we could meet up this trip!Where are you staying? Have you booked airfare yet?
Kathe

hey! I'm also there from 19th October til 2nd November

OK, now I'm getting confused. Just let me know what you want and that's how I'll include you. We have champagne tasters and non-tasters who are HMs. We also have Mascots who are non-tasters.

....and 'Originals' and 'Devouts'....;) ;) So, Deb....do we get to wear a special costume...or tiara's maybe as the Founder Girls???;) :lmao: (that's FOUNDER not FLOUNDER btw!!!!);)

A truly magical story...it brought tears to my eyes!!

:pixiedust:

OOOOhhhh, Caymus Conundrum, great wine! Very unique! Appeals to people who like Chardonnay as well as those that like wine with a sweeter finish... really good with spicy food...:thumbsup2

Sorry, more wine info than people want... again!:rolleyes1

Karen

Actually that sounds like a really great wine, and something I might like.;)

I am not good at bowling terms....but Daniel's high score was a spare and then he struck out.......I think that gave him a 289. I know he has never rolled a perfect game (yet:goodvibes :goodvibes )

Sounds like you hit in on the nose, that is mighty impressive, wow! :woohoo:

Kathe, you're on the list....you just joined after the last update....I'm waiting until I get some more to do another update. I have you on the list as one of 12 tasters. If you want to be included, but not sample the champagne, then I can add you as an honorary member. Let me know if you want to sample champagne or not, either way you're on the list.:hippie:

Thanks Deb, and yes, I definately want to be a taster ;)
