Awwwwww, that one almost made me weepy! :goodvibes What a great ending! My ex-husband used to tell me that someday, years down the road, he hopes we end up re-married. He would constantly tell me every time he heard of that happening to somebody. ;)

And there are many, many nights I have the same dream (with slight variations each time) about reuniting with my 2nd love (we were together from age 17-21). The basic idea each time is that I run into him in a public place, he reveals that he's been divorced for a few years and never really stopped thinking about me, and we end up back together. Crazy!

Well, as you saw, it does truly happen!

Hi and bye everyone. A quick read through as we are off this morning to travel 240 miles to visit John's mum. She is 90 and we need to visit her more often these days.

Back tomorrow evening, don't fill too many pages, but have a great weekend.:)

Kathe,

I am so sorry for your loss. At the same time that is so comforting to know that so many cared for him. My father was very similar and people still share stories with me about him. He was the rock of our family and has been greatly missed. My dad will have been gone 14 years in September and I still get great stories from his friends with smiles and happiness. As you know it helps a little with the pain when others share the happy times.:goodvibes I wish you and your family all the happiness in the future.

Lori,

The same is true of my dad and mom as well. They are always remembered with such love and joy. I still have people speak so lovingly of them after several years.

Miss them everyday, but I have such good memories that are lovingly remebered by myself and others.

Karen

Lori  Thank you. How hard for you to have lost your father. Yes, it does help to remember and share the "happy times" with others, doesn't it? My daughter is getting married this May, and of course, it is going to be one of those "moments" that is bittersweet. Both of her grandparents will be there, my dad will be walking her down the aisle, but her dad will not :sad1:
We do know that his spirit will alway be with us though, as will your dad's with you :goodvibes
Kathe

Kathe,

My dad was able to walk down the aisle with me, but passed away soon after. I am so glad that your DD will have your dad there. It will be bittersweet, but with all of the love and memories, I hope that she knows that he is there with her, an angel on her shoulder...

Ok, I have bowled on Tuesday's with friends for five years and before that ran a 26 team league for three years, and bowled as a kid on Saturday mornings (first five pin then ten pin), never did get to watch cartoons.

This is how geeky I am, there is a bowling alley in Aruba, we could go bowl a game on our visit, lol. Averages? Or is that like asking a lady her age? lol

138, High score of 226.

Karen

165, high score 276 (right after I bombed in a mixed double tourney with my best friend, he wanted to kill me, but he loves me, lol)

Mmmmm:cloud9: Le Cellier :cloud9: I love this place, although my fave is Jiko. Funny thing, I refused to go to Le Cellier my first few trips to WDW because it was in Canada...duh...I wanted new and exciting experiences ;) Now I make sure I dine there at least once each trip! Well, this cruise is my gift to myself for my 50th birthday (this Aug) and my consolation gift ;) since I can't go to WDW this year since I have to pay for my DD's wedding in May...so...:ssst: ...don't tell anyone I've secretly booked 2 weeks at WDW in Oct ! Don't know for sure yet, but I'm hoping maybe I can swing this, and will once again be dining at Le Cellier and Jiko! My dining experience card expires at the end of Oct, I think I need to use it one more time:rolleyes1
Kathe

Kathe,

Did you see my post on Jiko being in our top five restaurants, anywhere!!

We love that place.

Will be in WDW starting on November 17, (Saturday after we get off the cruise ship!) Jiko will be booked as soon as I can!!

Karen

Holly,
I don't know what to do anymore. She is just in between when it comes to teen and kid but tween is kind of a weird term. She has breast and a period but loves dolls. I don't know it drives me nuts. She is lovable some days but a monster and emotional others. We went regular bra shopping the other day and she was so mad because I told her dad what we were doing. OOPS! I forgot you tell dad nothing. Just give us the plastic and don't ask questions. See I trained her right.:rotfl:

Lori,

Right there with you! DD is in 6th grade, a baby one second, (less and less I'm afraid,) and a monster tween the next!! She even uses the word tween all the time. To me, she is worse than I ever was and is as knowledgeable as I was at 15 or 16!

Calgon take me away... and give me strength!!!:scared1:

What was I thinking letting her wear that shirt? This was last year so you can only imagine now!

She looks adorable, lighten up mom!! (Or as my tween says, "oh my gosh, mom") with horrified exasperation!!

Karen

I already have her on ... I have you on the list as HM also. Is that correct. Let me know. Thanks.

Deb,

Still catching up. PM'ed you the DL PP info.

After DD was on last night doing her homework, DH was on till 1:00 am (way past when he usually goes to bed,) working on a program that he is writing for an online company.

Glad I have the laptop or I would have fallen way behind on the DIS!!:lmao:

Karen

Oh, dear. I told DH I was going to be a mascot and he said 'No Way!!!!'. He wants to tell you all how much champagne I used to drink when we met a very lonnnnnngggg time ago. I told him I didn't think I could keep up anymore and he said he's going to be my personal trainer. He wants to see me as a 'Pink Champagne Girl'. Such a conundrum :rolleyes1

OOOOhhhh, Caymus Conundrum, great wine! Very unique! Appeals to people who like Chardonnay as well as those that like wine with a sweeter finish... really good with spicy food...:thumbsup2

Sorry, more wine info than people want... again!:rolleyes1

Karen

What a wonderful story. I am married to a musician....he was in a rock band....I know about the people who come up to you and say "I knew your husband when....." We stopped at a local bar tonight (for a salad) after taking Gretchen to the doctor (Yes, it seems Annie gave strep throat to her dad and her sister) and some VERY CUTE 20 something came running over to my DH and hugged him and said "You're the Godspell guy...I loved it! It was the best!" I think he really liked that.

Anyway Kathe, I am travelling without DH ... just my DH18 and maybe some for his friends. If you want to join up for dinner together....I saw you are travelling alone.....I think I have late dinner.....We have months to plan, but if you are interested, let me know!!

DS18, Daniel, the new HOKIE, loves bowling. They have a bowling team at his High School and they have been to the VA state championship twice!! Haven't won though. I think his average is about 200?? One of the reasons he wants to go to VA Tech is the large awesome bowling alley in the student union. Great reason to choose a college, don't ya think?:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Works for me!!!

Karen

Okay, I have added Tink to my signature....so add me to the Non-tasting list...

That is unless Karen can tell me what Champagne I had in Palo that was sweet and wonderful and they say it is their special??

Was it pinkish/red or clear?

Karen

Hey, check out this cake! The cutting board the fish is on is the cake, the wine bottle and fish and lemons are rice crispie treats covered with fondant. It was made by somebody on another cruise. Cool, huh?! I find myself anxiously waiting for pictures of the next cake! :thumbsup2

I met my DH at a party at my brother's house when I was 18. He had just got back from a one year tour with his "rock band" :hippie: out on Canada's East Coast. He was seated , with many friends around him, telling of all his great tales while away:goodvibes I was drawn to him, and listened along with everyone else. I met up with him a couple more times while at my brother's, then he asked me out for a first date for my 19th birthday:flower3: We were married when I was 21 (he was 24) and had a wonderful daughter and son together. We were married for 23 wonderful years and I never grew tired of listening to his stories:goodvibes We would constantly over the years meet up with people that knew my DH but that I didn't know and it would be so interesting to listen to them discuss days gone by...it seemed to be a lifelong journey getting to know my DH and I loved him more each day. I lost my dear husband to cancer 5 yrs ago :sad1: Even at his memorial I had a few strangers introduce themselves to me and say they had known my DH in school and how they remembered him because he was so kind, never a bad word about anyone, and for the wonderful stories he told :goodvibes We miss him terribly, but his love lives on with us forever.
Kathe

Kathe,
Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like your late husband was a very special man.

165, high score 276 (right after I bombed in a mixed double tourney with my best friend, he wanted to kill me, but he loves me, lol)

I am not good at bowling terms....but Daniel's high score was a spare and then he struck out.......I think that gave him a 289. I know he has never rolled a perfect game (yet:goodvibes :goodvibes )

Off to the Beach house now. I will be cleaning all day and yard work!! I hope I can get the internet up and running there. I haven't been there since Dec 15th. I love it at the beach. I swear it has saved my life several times!!
