Noel, you're killing me. THe weather here is awful. I stayed home. I opened the door at one point to see if we got any mail and was PELTED by freezing rain. I did not shovel, so the driveway and walkway are a giant sheet of frozen rain. We have no icemelt to put on the walkway.

Oh, and the peach tree I ordered to put in our garden, has been sitting in a box in my entranceway all week. I keep watering the box and hoping it will warm up so it can get planted.

So yes, I'm jealous of the 80 degree weather!

So I should not be telling you that we are going to bar-b-que steaks and veggies by the pool!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

92 degrees here......DH and my oldest son just left to go up to the mountains for a boy scout weekend and sadly they had to leave the sled here because all the snow MELTED

DD drove out to Big Bear early today and was saying it was 92 out that way!!

You saved 9000, from the EB pirates! :cool1: :cool1: I don't think they have gotten any of ours.

What we really have to watch out for is 10000 as one of ours stole theirs!!

Back to catching up.

Noel

We should find out what each other does for a living....we know Karen sell Wine....

I design and sell office furniture to very large office buildings. My DH, who will not be traveling with me, is a minister!!

The DW is retired from AAA after 27 years where she did most everything from trip tiks to managment and travel agent. She now sews Fish Extenders on the side and keeps the household in order when I have to travel. I repair and maintain gauging equipment. (I know, what the heck is gauging equipment?) It's the stuff used in manufacturing to make sure of the thickness or weight of products you buy, such as plastics, shingles, rubber products, stickem on stamps, etc., all have the correct amount in or on them.

Now that you know as much as I do I may have to find a new line of work.:lmao: :lmao:

I think there is a general feeling NOW of supporting the people, whether you agree with the policy or not. Personally, if someone is volunteering to protect us, it's not his/her decision where he/she is sent. Ya know? And, well, DH was in the military for 15 years and we have an 18 yr old in the Marines. We know the personal sacrifices they and their families make. So, to say thank you, or to offer to buy a meal, really is nothing in comparison. (DH was on a plane recently where they bumped up four young men to first class. He says they looked so surprised and pleased! But, he was also called a baby killer once, too. It's not perfect here, either!)

How would you say service people are treated over there?

Carolyn

Way back in 1966, DH was flying home from basic training and got put in first class. The really cool thing was that it was also his 21st birthday! :cool1:

:woohoo: Wednesday we had temperatures in the high 70's....:woohoo:
TODAY, 6-10 inches of snow predicted:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
Something is NOT working here!

DC is getting about 3-5 inches....lots of ice....CRAZY!! and very very cold!!

I am finally all caught up! :cool1:
John, thanks for posting the Post Count. It is funny I came with about the same amout of posts that I've done here!

Update on my friend - she is able to do the IVF before the Chemo starts on April 1. So she will start to get hormone shots next week.:sad2: Makes me a little scared, but by doing this it will hopefully get her focused then on fighting the cancer (NHL). She has had two weeks of radiation already. The treatments will go until Oct. Her doctor gave her off until Dec, so she hopes to go back to teaching in Jan 08. Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I will see her tonight.

My sister has suprised me with an all paid Maui trip over Memorial Day week-end - four nights! Can't wait - she has lots of miles with work so we will travel first class and have a Mai Tai on the way! Actually, not a big fan of Mai Tai - maybe Champange! What do I care - I'll have a domestic beer. Four nights with no guitar lessons, homework, work....HEAVEN:cloud9:

Ok - off to work! Have a good day all. Lisa

I have been praying for your friend....such a tough break...please keep us updated

I love Maui and I will drink anything I am instructed!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Mother's Day! Sounds like you're going to have a great time. Speaking of afternoon tea.....does anyone want to do High Tea at Palo's? I have heard some good things about it, but I have never done it yet. Would love to do it with friends. Anyone interested?

Happy Mother's Day!!

I would love to Palo tea.....I will email Noel!!

I should be focusing on work, but I am trying to nail down our last ADR for our May trip....such decisions!

I'm all up for meeting in December. We usually go to the MVMCP......
Okay what is MVMCP...sometimes all of the Letters really confuse me!!

Ok I just made $285 in completely extra cash and the potential to make another $250. I am so tempted to book a Friday off work in December and fly down for the DIS meet, lol. Spend Friday night and fly back on the last flight Saturday night. It's a sickness, I tell ya.

Do it PJ! We would love, love, love to get a hug from you in Dec!

Go Hokies!!

Anyone watch this game? Just ended!! The Hokies were down by 17 and came back at the end with a 12 - 0 run to win by 2 ......Great game!!

There are few people on the Gay and Lesbian thread who are on the WB and think we are to chatty. :rotfl: I think they have us confused with EB.

Thanks again to pjpoohbear for straightening them out on our thread. Also, should we post there inviting them to the gift exchange etc.?

mmm, I love fresh citrus. DD loves sucking on fresh limes.

Tell her that citrus can take the surface enamel off of your teeth. I have 6 veneer from sucking on lemons. It makes your teeh extremely sensitive over time as well as taking the enamel off the teeth. It even says lemon sucker on my dental chart!

I sent one in, and the lady laughed when she called and asked if I knew the others who had faxed in 15 months in advance. She just said that she would require a final list early spring next year.

Too funny!! She might mean my TA. I wonder if she cringes when she hears I want to make another addition or change.

My TA is on a first name basis with the suite coordinator with all the ressies, bdays etc. and changes I keep making for both this cruise and our December cruise. Plus, she does a weekly status check with her for me about the 2010 etc. inaugural cruises.

I am on the watch for the best servers on the Magic for our dining tables requests.

I am a Patient Advocate at the Portland Veteran's Hospital. Speaking of honoring veterans. ;) DH is a pharmacist and works for an agency, works when and where he wants. He has worked in hospitals and retail, but really enjoys the freedom the agency has given him. He is booked 3 days on the Oregon coast next week. M-W. I am taking the days off and going with him to try out our new motorhome! :dance3:

Luckily she only has one tooth right now!

Happy Friday night everyone! We went and bought new bedding for our new mattress!! My goodness, I haven't purchased sheets or anything for awhile...that stuff is expensive!! Not to mention our bedroom walls are sort of hard to match ---- sort of a dark mustardy color. The girls are watching Peter Pan and we are watching March Madness.

I did hit the Disneystore and bought my sister an Alice mug, Alice frame, Alice notebook and sticky notes...all were $4.99 and I had a 15% off coupon, not too bad...

V - I bought the Alice mug Wed. for DGS's friend. He loved Alice when we chaparoned the band at DL last year. Liked her even better than the hot cheerleaders that were all over DL. :rotfl: I saw the mug and just had to get it for him. I also got some Ts and a mug each for DrHug and I for the MH.

It never ceases to amaze me the difference there is between our two countries on how they treat their Servicemen and women, and military veterans.

In the US there seems to be a general respect for them, as well as financial and other benefits. You even have Memorial Day, a public holiday, in recognition of their contribution to your society. I've read about businessmen giving up their 1st class seats on planes to Servicemen, or signing them into airport lounges. During my most recent visit, as I boarded a plane, there was a soldier taking his seat and the man next to him thanked him for what he was doing for their country.

I'm sad to say that it is completely different in the UK. :sad2:

the other Day I was in Panera Bread and a serviceman was buying like 7 loaves of bread for a party over the weekend at his house. I told him I wanted to buy it for him to thank him for what he has done for my family.

He graciously accepted.....it cost me $20....best $20 I have spent all year!!

Sorry...If you were here, you could share!! We could have a nice dinner by the pool and some Bellini's.

Youngest DD is thinking about going to Law School after college and has internship at a law firm lined up for after graduation. She has been advised to work in a law firm for a year or so to see if she really wants to go into law.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom....it's lots of fun!! Last year we meet up with John, Amy and Sophia --- we had a blast! (well not sure about them, they could of hated walking around with us....!!)

There was a complete $4.99 section and then the other clearance stuff...which I coulnd't bring myself to buy as I had just paid 50% off the clearance price last time I was in there, it didn't sell then.....
but all the adult sweaters were $4.99, they had Tinkerbell, Mickey, the Big Bad Wolf and Pluto....DH has the BBW already he did not seem to interested in the others. The dog sweaters were $1.99 and winter hats and mittens were as well. You can imagine these are not hot ticket items in Florida!

Do it PJ! We would love, love, love to get a hug from you in Dec!

I lost my AP, lol. But I read a post by V, that it is super easy to replace, phewww! I was trying to see when it expires. But I think it is the 5th of December.

It would be cool to do a 1/2 day ticket. Now to find a pillow to put my head on and a cheap SW deal. If it all comes together, I will be there.:woohoo:

I am a retail buyer, specializing in Apple products for a University marketplace. 20% of my job is officially websurfing, to find out what is come up the pipeline on all tech products.

Working at a law firm is actually a very good idea. We have a lot of lawyers in my family, so I had a good idea of what I was getting into, but it's a good experience to try it out before law school. I worked in a law firm during my last two years of law school, so I was able to graduate with a lot of experience (which is a lot more valuable IMHO than what you learn in school alone).

I finally had some dinner (leftover broccoli combined with leftover buttered egg-noodles). Not gourmet, but it worked. I could still go for a bellini though!

ok, on the dinner front...

I have had a hersey's special dark bar with almonds. How sad, I need normal food.
