Happy Mother's Day! Sounds like you're going to have a great time. Speaking of afternoon tea.....does anyone want to do High Tea at Palo's? I have heard some good things about it, but I have never done it yet. Would love to do it with friends. Anyone interested?

The Tea was great, but hard to fit in with having room for dinner afterward as they feed you too much!!!:rotfl2:

Karen

Can you give an update of what you would like us to send in a PM? I know I sent info, but now need to add more and I have forgotten what!!! Nothing new there.:rotfl:

I know...we've added so many things....ok, so for the DIS Master List please PM me with:

Your cabin number, your first and last name, the names of those in your cabin, the ages and grades of children (if any) in your cabin, your email address (if you want it posted), your location, if you're celebrating any special anniversaries or birthdays and if you have a fish extender - WHEW! That's a lot!

Mmmmm... Yummy!! ;) Looks like it is from his "Fly" or "Earthgirls" days.

We'll definitely get 14 and probably more...I'll keep the list and I can easily fax it if you'll PM me the fax number. OK EVERYONE, if you want to do a Ladies Only High Tea, PM me and I'll put you on "the list".

Deb - I believe you have to be in a cat 3 or above to fax the list in?! :confused3 Someone may have already addressed it?

So what exactly do you folks get for vacation?

:thumbsup2 We can then have "Our Big Fat Greek Cruise"!

I first saw this movie on the Magic!! It had just come out and there was standing room only to watch it in the Buena Vista Theatre!!:thumbsup2

Love it!!

This will be a sad Easter for us since mom passed away last December. Amy has not yet learned all of the food, and certainly no bread that mom used to make with the egg in the center. Food was so much a part of our lives.

John-I'm sorry, I know it's tough. My mom still misses her mom, so I know how tough it gets, especially at holiday time. And greek cooking is not always easy either, so I give credit to Amy for trying to learn it!

Yes, my soup recipe is a quick version to pacify my craving for avgolemeno soup and also have it as a main meal (hence the chicken pieces). It's been americanized, as my mom says!!!

Check above . . .

Did your mom put money in the bread at New Years?

No one makes bread here like Ya Ya's . . .:sad2:

Yes, yes, yes!!! You're right, no one makes bread like ya ya's do!! Our American friends who would be with us on New Year's would be wondering what the foil wrapped coin was all about in their slice of bread and we'd be ecstatic for them, yelling...you've got the luck, you've got the luck....the first time they thought we were lunatics!! Too funny!!! :rotfl:

Weather has been 80 degrees today....been outside most of the day by the pool.

92 degrees here......DH and my oldest son just left to go up to the mountains for a boy scout weekend and sadly they had to leave the sled here because all the snow MELTED!!!!

Holly, welcome back....were your ears ringing last night??? Everyone really missed you and mentioned it.

Speaking of missing...where is AuntyBrat and her round ups and roll calls and fantastic sense of humor??? Counting too many beans I presume....
:rotfl2: Nope, my ears weren't ringing.....too busy being mesmerized by Alejandro's cute smile! ;)

It never ceases to amaze me the difference there is between our two countries on how they treat their Servicemen and women, and military veterans.

In the US there seems to be a general respect for them, as well as financial and other benefits. You even have Memorial Day, a public holiday, in recognition of their contribution to your society. I've read about businessmen giving up their 1st class seats on planes to Servicemen, or signing them into airport lounges. During my most recent visit, as I boarded a plane, there was a soldier taking his seat and the man next to him thanked him for what he was doing for their country.

I'm sad to say that it is completely different in the UK. :sad2:

I think there is a general feeling NOW of supporting the people, whether you agree with the policy or not. Personally, if someone is volunteering to protect us, it's not his/her decision where he/she is sent. Ya know? And, well, DH was in the military for 15 years and we have an 18 yr old in the Marines. We know the personal sacrifices they and their families make. So, to say thank you, or to offer to buy a meal, really is nothing in comparison. (DH was on a plane recently where they bumped up four young men to first class. He says they looked so surprised and pleased! But, he was also called a baby killer once, too. It's not perfect here, either!)

How would you say service people are treated over there?

Carolyn

Lisa, Since DH does all the cooking, mom taught him how to make it....and yes, I love it and I don't care who makes it as long as I get to eat it. Mom also taught DH to make grapevine leaves with Avgolemeno sauce...they make them with rice and meat rolled into the leaf and then the egg and lemon sauce over the whole thing. My mouth is watering. When mom or DH makes them, I eat them for every meal until they're gone. They are my favorite. Mom does Easter bread and she makes her own baklava. To die for!

My Greek friend, Sandy, makes Easter bread, but it's about the only thing I know of that she makes that is Greek. She really is not a "cook". :cutie:

I should probably send my DH to her mom to learn how to cook all these yummy things!!:woohoo:

Karen

What a nice thing to say!!

One more thought, shall we add where people are from????

Noel

If people want to do High Tea, maybe we can start a list as we will have to coordinate dates when to request.

Just a thought.

Noel

I guess I should have waited to PM all 3 of you until I was sure that you were done with "the list"...:cool2:

Going to run some errands before dinner as I am going crossed eyed from all the spreadsheet talk..
