On our last cruise, we booked our hotel through DCL and so we checked in at the hotel. If we had not had to get new room keys (for cat 3) we could have just used our keys from the world and got right on. This nice lady sat in the lobby at the DCL desk every morning and took care of all the passengers.

They had after packages too, I wondered if they were doing this at DL.

Gotcha . . . If you had said "land and sea" package, I would have understood. Would they do that at WDW, DL, or both?

Who wants to call DCL to find out?

Bed time - night all!

Tennessee won the women's NCAA in Cleveland.

I sent Kevin at DU an e-mail... I will let you know as soon as he replies.

Kaylee:

Do give me more San Jose info. I'll stalk them accordingly....just kidding... but seriously, perhaps we do have a common conection...what ages are their kids? girls or boys.

We also would like to do trading, but we always seem to buy at Dland and then they can't give them up. I'd love a source on ebay or whatever that ran less than the +$6 we spend per pin at Dland.

The Disney Warehouse stores have some good buys on pins. We buy two or three of the same ones there and use the extras as traders. We only trade with cast members though.

I know there are not a lot of us with kids going on this cruise, but if there are as few as I think, Sounds like the adult pool will have a harder time finding chairs than the Mickey Pool!

Think they will make a special carpet from the adult pool to the ice cream area?

Totally not on any topic, just sharing...

DD just put a sign up in here: Come to Layla's Kabob Shop

So, I did. I guess she'd been downstairs making kabobs of raisins and sliced string cheese. Loose raisins were free. Kabobs cost a hug AND a smooch. Her brother got a deal. He only has to pay with a hug (she says his smooches are too slimy).

(Layla's not her name. We decided that since she and I don't have sisters, we would be each other's sisters. Every now and then she changes our sister names. Used to be Rose and Sunflower. Lately, it's Layla and Elayla.)

Carolyn

Awww, that is so sweet!

Oh my, I just don't think we (comunal we here) are ready to don on that outfit.....we'd need to drink to get up the nerve....

Yep, and I think the rest of the people would need to drink up to get us (comunal us here, lol) looking like that :lmao:

Well, my DH has my daughter and now one of her friends as well. The flight takes off from Tampa at 6:15pm (about 6 minutes) and they are on board!!

Today, a total of 8 students are sick (out of 40).....Annie and Laura are the first to leave.

I bought trip insurance on this trip. The trip was $2,000 and the insurance was $159. I am on the phone now with Worldstrides and they say the insurance only covers injury not illness. This really makes me mad.

I hope she is well by now.

Not fair though that she can sit up in the first part of it - I can't - I feel like a 250lb bullet being shot out of a cannon as I lay there going at breakneck speed down that sucker!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Just popping in to say good morning before I take DS9 to the dentist. I forgot to tell you all that he knocked out a good portion of both of his front teeth (about 1/3 of each one) on our very first day of vacation in Hawaii on a waterslide. We rushed him to a dentist who said he would be able to keep what remained of his teeth, thank goodness. We waited until we got home to have them bonded, however, so we could have it done by his regular dentist. Hopefully, he will have his usual bright smile back by lunchtime.:beach:

Dont feel bad, I tell you my funny tooth loss story that just happen last week.. We had just started our Magical vacation in Disneyland. On the second day there we entered that park, I decided to have a breakfast bar, as I took a bite I paused and realized my bridge just snaped on my upper front teeth. I was not going to let the loss of my teeth spoil my trip. I knew there wasnt anything I could do until I returned home. Needless to say I sounded a little like daffy duck but with out the spit. Thank goodness I work in a Dental office..

Congratulations. I just bought tickets to see the Police! Anyone remember them?

Woody
I do , I do, I would love to see them, I doubt if they will head to Oregon,

We tried and it told us they had nothing availabe and I was on hold for 45mins before I had to go to class. So I went to the library and e-mailed them and when I got home there they were! DH had been dealing with it before and only gives it to me to deal with when he gets tired of it! It wasn't a nice e-mail but they came. Only problem is I had to pick someone up and they only hooked up 1 cable outlet. DH is out of town so he will hook the internet up on TH when he gets back until then I use my moms computer when I can.

Boy they sure must be slow in your area!! They hooked up 3 new cable sites with DVR and the internet in one half hour in our house.

Here is Jweiss (jennifer) & nskjerven (nan) with our kids at the Oakland Zoo a couple of weekends ago
Jen also has a teenager...but she was hanging out in her teenager land that day....I'm assured she'll join us on our next mini-Dis meet.

Great pics Nan!!

Only 65 more pages to go :scared1:

How do I explain to my husband that I don't have to pack my unmentionables, because some guy named John is bringing them??

Carolyn

ewwww gross, no fittings for me.....I'll bring my own unmentionables rather than have to have a fitting...

Yeah, just tell him a "John" is bringing them . . . that's the ticket . . . after all, you have to pay for this cruise one way or another!

Stop! I'm laughing out loud and he's waiting for his computer...I really need to relinquish control here. Geez, now it's, "Honey, one of my Johns is bringing my underwear!"

Carolyn

I don't know......could be fun! Hey, we all need a little excitement in our lives, don't we?! Or should I say entertainment?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Alright, will give into the temptation. Meet one of our gift to our daughter's for Christmas - - - Pumpkin and Macaroni

Your girls are beautiful and the sleeping picture is the sweetest!

We need to start a new list!

The DH and DW's that never post and get drug along for the ride.

My DH thought I was crazy before our first cruise but then he saw I had it all under control (some what) and knew what was going on. I even heard him telling his brother how much I knew before we left and if he needed any advice before his cruise to ask me.:lmao: He still will not get on board with us. I don't know if he secretly reads. More power to him if he does.

You can add mine to the list, and I am positive that he doesn´t read the disboards, even secretly, but loooooves to complain about how much time I spend here, but will admit to everyone that we always have good trips to Disney, short lines, good ADR´s, etc.

:thumbsup2 Roger - will do!

Having lunch at Norway today with the Princesses too.

Last night we had dinner at Boma, and it was a Great dinner! I think Sophia had about 5 of those Zebra Domes for dessert, along with about 3 sccops of chocolate mousse. So far, not that crowded - I'll let you know how Epcot is. I think next week and the following week are the BIG Spring Break weeks. We may be lucky.

In Mexico we have 2 weeks of vacation for the Holy Week, so we get this week and Easter week every year, and tons of people go to WDW these weeks, especially the first one.

Thought I would share some pictures of Lily Ann.

Lily Ann

She is beautiful, congratulations!

Is DCL doing add ons like they do at WDW for this cruise?
On our 11 day cruise disney added extra entertainment to keep the crew happy. The Muffets were a great addtion to our cruise along with the additional adult Crew variety entertainment show.
The seas should be calm.

so here't the afro I got Johnny for 70's night....do you think he'll have to go sideways through the cabin door?

:rotfl2: DH would kill me if I bought that for him, it is really hilarious!

Okay, here is my Annie story for today. I was able to get her into the doctor at 10:30am. (Everyone was like what are you back for...was there yesterday with Gretchen's broken thumb).

Annie has strep, bronchitis and pneumonia!! They did not put her in the hospital. She is on 4 drugs, including steroids for her lungs. I just keep hearing over and over the teachers telling me "Annie is bouncing back" " Annie is better today" "Annie will be fine" The doctor said she is very sick. She is also contagious.

I called the head teacher and left her a message with Annie diagnosis, in case the other 6 still have fevers or if there are more fevers. I asked her to ring me back....but no surprise...no call.

Annie heard me leave the message and she said "Are you trying to make my teacher feel bad" .. I hate admit it, but I think I was trying to do that...(mouths of babes!!) I just feel like they were not good stewards of my very special child. If I had left her there, the pneumonia would have only gotten worse. No wonder, she could hardly walk in by herself.

I know I need to get over this...but I am still so angry.

The teacher deservers to feel bad, I know that she tried to reassure parents, but you reassure them for a simple cold, not when a child is that sick!

If anybody remembers my tuition problem resulting from taking a semester off, I had a bit of good news this morning. Yesterday I had sent one last pleading e-mail to school explaining my situation and asking for suggestions on what I can do to be able to continue my schooling. I asked that if whoever read it was unable to help, if they could please forward it to somebody who might have an answer for me. I received an e-mail from the Senior Accountant of the Billing Department this morning telling me she'll offer 5 monthly payments of $1,042.00 each, starting April 1. I wrote back and told her I really appreciated her offer, but there's no way I can come up with $1,042 in 4 days. So she offered me the 15th of each month, starting April 15th. I accepted, knowing it will be much easier to get a loan for the first couple payments rather than the full amount. No way can I come up with that amount each month, but at least it buys some time to worry about the remainder of the balance.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders because I now know I can continue my education! WOOHOO!!!!! Sure, the problem isn't completely solved, but it's a huge start! :woohoo:

WooHoo Holly!

Okay Holly ... Quoting myself again. :lmao: :lmao:

One funny thing...my DD10 (Gretchen...broken thumb) came up to me today (after listen to me ranting and raving;) ) and said "Mommy, Daniel and Annie got to go on this trip...are you going to let me go when I am in 7th grade?":

I don't think so!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was playing with the pink tink idea, it was fun to dress her up. Use her, leave her, she is your to enjoy.

Great job :thumbsup2

When I buy GS cookies, I always wondered where the money goes.

: Made me think of "Where in the World is Carmen Santiago?" Does that show even come on anymore?

I remember having a Carmen Sandiego game for the computer, and I was such a geek that I would have the Britannica Encyclopaedia on hand so I would beat the machine and find her on time. I definetly enjoyed playing that.

... in my dreams :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think I have been spending such a long time these past couple of days trying to catch up that yesterday I dreamed will you and our cruise.

At least I can tell you we all had a fun, even if crazy and weird time, lol :lmao:

:thumbsup2 This is where I have been getting mine for pin trading. We stop at the warehouse in Fullerton before we hit the park.

[Love the trip report and all of the pictures! It really does look like paradise!:beach:

I also think that it's great that you are in the pictures! The opposite is usually true of us; DD and DH are in the shots and I am on the back side of the camera (my best side!!):rolleyes1

Karen

I was thinking the same thing. I am rarely in the pics. Sometimes wonder if I was really there at all:lmao:

Does anyone know what the website is for the roaming stores to find out where they are now? I know they were in Bellingham a month ago or so, but thought they were moving somewhere closer.

Thanks

OT: Elementary School Concerts.....
I remember when I was in elementary we would do 1 or 2 "choir" concerts per year with the whole school. My DD (in 3rd grade) does 1 (3/4 concert) and it is all this weird stuff about harmony, drumming beats, and simple songs. Are all schools teaching this stuff or is it just my DD's? I would love to see them sing some nice songs, not do all this other stuff with pots and pans and boom whackers (yes that is what the teacher called them). Just wondering what other kids were doing. Of course, it was a joy watching DD up there singing and smiling and proud of herself!
