"Are you there God, It's me Margaret?" Who could forget Judy Blume!!!!

John, I love this picture! Sophia is a cutie to be sure, no wonder Bruce gobbled her up!!!!

Well, yesterday Drew has his Kindergarten shots....that was a pure joy! :scared1: He's really strong so he managed to pull away as the needle was inserted, even with the doctor and me holding his arm tightly. So, now he has a scratch along his arm from the needle. Of course, once the needle went in he let out a SHRILL that I'd never heard from him before. He was NOT a happy camper. The lollipop at the end did help. It's funny when you have two children of the same sex to see how different they are. My oldest, Ryan is thin and lanky and Drew has a football player's body. At age 5 Ryan was about 50th percentile for height and weight....then there's Drew (aka bruiser) who at 5 is 80th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. No wonder when they fight Drew takes poor Ryan down. They're 4 years apart in age, but only 10 lbs apart in weight. Go figure. Well, like Lori, we're off to a day of soccer games..............:upsidedow

DD ran out of the room before the Doc could even get the needle in position!!

Thank heaven for the locked door before the waiting room, or she would have been long gone!!!

She is now due for the set that comes when they turn 12!! Oh boy...:scared1:

Karen

Oh no, I have to catch up on 152 pages :scared1: I was catching up on march 19th and had a lot of trouble with the disboards for a few days, so here I am, waiting for the FF club of Aeromexico to pick up the darn phone (have been waiting for 44:29 and they don´t even tell you how long of a wait for someone to answer).

And I am eating about a half quart of mint chip Baskin Robbins ice cream, so I will definetly have to work out when I am finished :scared: or my shorts won´t fit for our trip to WDW on april 28th :cool1:

HEY! Guess what we played tonight?!

100_0345.jpg

Tyler took this pic of me....sort of blurry. He was nice enough to let me have a turn wearing his Capt. Hook hat and hook. But ever since Grandma gave him a cool sword for Christmas, I'm always stuck playing with his old Captain Feathersword sword. No fair! (Ignore vaccuum hose on the right side of pic. Was in the process of cleaning today.)

100_0346.jpg

Those are some great memories your are making for Tyler, you are such a cool mom!

My husband is the "Director of Praise and Worship" We have 11 paid employees at the church. Most salaries are set by the Personnel Comm. This is made up of church members. For my DH and the Senior Pastor, the session sets the "The Terms of Call" (which includes everything from $$$ and all benefits and vacation) and then the entire congregation votes on The Terms of Call. This is funded by donations. Our church is in a major growth mode. Our budget is about 1.5 million $$$ and we just build a brand new building. It is such a gift!! We have a mortgage of 4 million....!!!

My DH is doing a production of Godspell.....has been working on this for 1 year and it is next weekend...Friday night..Sat night and Sun afternoon. I have been selling tickets...and we have sold about 1,000 tickets.....should be a great event!!!

Our life is the church......

Wow! Your church sounds like a huge company to me, lol. That Godspell event sounds great.

This totally reminds me of something I did on my last cruise, but didn't put it in the trip report. I purposely took all my old underwear that I would have been throwing away soon anyway, same with some clothes too, so that I could throw out a bunch of stuff before coming home, leaving more room in the suitcase for souvineers and other new stuff. Well, I did do laundry at one point, and threw away a bunch of old stuff in the laundry room. Then on the last night, as I was packing, I threw all that old underwear away in the garbage can in our room. We went to dinner, out to have other fun, etc. At the end of the night, when we all returned to our room for the last time, we found that when the room steward cleaned our room, he took all those underwear out of the garbage can and put them on my bed! We were just dying laughing at what that poor guy must have been thinking as he was fishing ratty old underwear out of the garbage can! I'm cracking up laughing as I'm typing this!

This reminds me of the time when I flew from the Canary Islands to Madrid through Iberia and they broke one of my bags, so I take everything out of the main compartment and took it to repair shop at the address they gave me. Off to do more errands and back to my aunt´s house. The next morning as I was taking out my clothes to wear after showering I notice that I have no undies but the ones I was wearing :scared1: I had left EVERYTHING in the small compartment of the bag. So I had to go to the repair shop and convince the man that I had to check something inside my bag by myself and that he definelty couldn´t help me. I stashed everything in my backpack and took everything back home then, lol.

Heck, ALL of us here are AWESOME parents because we take our kids on Disney cruises and to Disney World (and DL)!!!! Hats off to all of you!

Definetly agree with you :thumbsup2

I wish more people would put kids first too. Life's too short.....just have fun and play pirates as often as possible!

(and go out for burritos occasionally....read between the lines here).

:rotfl2:

I am always amazed when friends have gotten divorced how all of a sudden 1 of them becomes the world's most self centered person and forgets about the kids. Married they were both great (or so it seemed). Then there is the opposite, I have a friend now who put an additional "wing" on their home and each parent lives in one wing with the kids living in the main portion along with the kitchen/LR/FR etc. They are divorced but wanted to "stay together" for the kids. Great for you Holly for working togethr for Tyler.

Your friends are cool parents too, thinking first about their children.

I quickly discovered that I'm the minority in that aspect. I now think I'm the only one who doesn't have a particular sports interest. Oh well! I'll stick with bingo anyway!

Oh no, don´t feel bad, I definetly am not at all into sports either. The only thing I watch is the soccer World Cup.

I will accept any job Disney throws at me (heck I worked in the Emporium for only $6.25 per hour :scared1: )

To me it doesn´t sound that bad, after all, minimum wages in Mexico run to less than $ 5 per DAY.

I think I need those songs....I have a mental block when multiplying 7, 8 and 9 together! I can recite hundreds of lines of Shakespeare that I learned 35 years ago...but still have that 'hole' in the multiplication tables.

I remember the summer before I started first grade my mom drilled the multiplication tables into my head, I have always loved going out, but I came to dread hopping into the car because that is when she would star :rotfl:

We are going to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, a small volcanic Spanish island some way from Spain off the African coast. We are really just crashing out for the 2 weeks, eating and walking around a little. Swimming too I hope!

You will have a lot of fun, definetly enjoy the yummy food. Eat some tortilla, a good wine with Casera, papas and tapas.

I have only been to Gran Canaria. I loved the sky there, the clouds moved FAST!!!

My birthday story is different from most others here. My Bday is Sept 4th. Where I grew up the law was 1st day of school after Labor Day....so, I always had cupcakes like the very first or second day of school. Everyone loved me as a treat came so early on in the school year. Except my oldest brother, I was born on this 4th Birthday....so his party was cancelled. He did not like me then!!

My dd´s bday is sept. 4th too! And my brother was born on my 2nd bday (veteran´s day in the US), and I always tell him that he was definetly born with the wrong foot! I hated sharing a birthday with him when I was growing up. I don´t mind now since I mostly don´t celebrate, but he is definetly big on celebrating his birthday.

Ok, I have been 60:35 minutes waiting at Aeromexico, grrr

Hope you get revitalized, Holly!! Listening to your body is the most important thing! Most of us (moi) don't do it often enough!!:cool2:

Karen
Thanks Karen.....I did do a bit of sleeping on and off during the day while Tyler was still at his dad's. Feeling almost like myself again. I remember when I first joined the gym a year or so ago, I was going 4 times a week and I felt like this back then too......I was really run down for about 3 weeks until my shocked body adjusted. Then I reached that wonderful state of feeling energized all the time from regular workouts. So I'm sure that's what's going on this time too....just an adjustment period. :goodvibes

Hi Julie! I'm so glad you're back! Missed you! Your wait on the phone sounds awful, but aren't you glad you have the DIS to keep you occupied while you wait?! :thumbsup2

I'm so happy to have cable now! I had forgotten how much I love the Lifetime channel and all their movies. :goodvibes And the MSNBC Special Reports. Just finished watching Supersize Me on some other channel....hadn't seen it before, but knew all about it, of course. Good motivation to stay on track with my workouts and better eating!

Goodnight all!

Grrr, 74:52 min waiting for FF of Aeromexico and they leave at 10:00 pm (now 9:53 pm), so I guess I should hang up now, ok, hung!

I am not caught up yet, but I wanted to let Carol know we got our fish extender over the weekend! It's awesome! Thanks so much for your hard work! There's no way I could have come up with something that cute all on my own! You Rock!:cool1:

Carol my friend received our fish extender but forgot to take it to my mom´s hotel, so it is still in NYC, but don´t worry, she will either mail it to me when I visit WDW or will bring it herself when she comes to Mexico next may, I guess that we still have enough time to decorate??? :lmao:

OK, now I'm posting to my own post....Holly, John....how did this happen.....:rotfl:

Just added another for tea:

txaggie94gigem

I think Hollyness might me catching :lmao:

Love the Star kitty picture. Here's what my handsome 16 year old cat A.J. is doing right now:
AJSnoozing.jpg

He's started doing the craziest thing. He'll sit in the middle of the floor and look down... and just sit there staring at the floor for the longest time. It's like he's trying to remember why he's there or where he's going. Can't help it but it reminds me of Holly's boss!!

:rotfl2:

Hi Julie, I think as we tried to work this out on the boards, we may have confused everyone....but you got it exactly right! There's some hope for all....I received your PM for High Tea and you're on that list.

As far as the master list of info for active DISers, if you want Lisa will take your update. OR if you want, don't do anything. I will contact you. I'm working with the POSTS list. Starting from the bottom up and I'm PMing everyone to get all their info for the master list. Then I give my updates to Lisa and she updates and gives her list to Noel, the master keeper of the master list. Noel will have current info, including last minute changes, for the Active DISer List. Many of us are GTY only and we want to participate in gifting and we're afraid we won't be able to find everyone.....so hence, begins the lists....I think we've got it worked out now. I just hope we didn't confuse too many people trying to get it worked out.

best,
deb

Got it, thanks! :thumbsup2

Linda (Seaulater) also has a great system for keeping everyone up to date once we're onboard. Where is Linda anyway? I haven't seen her here in awhile. Anyway, she has generously offered to print a mini-navigator with the master list you are all so graciously gathering. The mini navigator also includes the various activities we have lined up (Bunco, group photo, tea, brunch, etc.). She does this as her sail away gift. Anywhooo, she also has some system for keeping DISers updated as to cabin changes. Something about having a deck monitor on each deck where folks can check in for changes. I'm not sure how it all works, but she's done this on previous cruises and seems to have it all worked out. I'm glad all of you list keepers and navigator makers are here to keep us organized.

This will be a great gift, at least I know that it will be thanks to her that I will make it to everything that has been organised, now I just need a fool proof system to remember to keep checkin the mini navigator, lol.

I have never taken Estrella to McDonald´s or Burger King, because I hate those places with the playstructures where it is really hard to keep an eye to what is going on, so I don´t want her to know that they are so fun, so she doesn´t know what she is missing, bad mommy, I know, but I hate the food and the place too.
At least you lost it to your son. My brother was born on the same day as I, but 2 years later. Talk about being born with the left foot, lol. I am just now getting over it, but I hated it for most of my life up till now.

See? I said Hollyness is catching, now I am quoting myself too.

I posted tonight about how my bro was born the same day as I and had already posted about it.

And I just jinxed myself, Estrella slept last night at my mom´s and told her today that she wanted to go out for breakfast. My dad lives next to the mall and they found him out and he convinced my mom to take Estrella for breakfast at McDonald´s  so much for me wanting to keep her away from that place!

Like hot chocolate, love tamales...I'd be set!

May 10th, got it. I'm sure you posted correctly. I was probably trying to speedDIS again.

Aurora!! Your ironing lady is named Aurora??!! Oh, DD would be be in heaven! (Pink heaven, though, sorry Thea!) And, I'll make a note: no McDonald's for Estrella! (You mean, she's never had a Happy Meal toy??)

Carolyn

Our Aurora definetly doesn´t look like Sleeping Beauty at all, buy she is the sweetest person and Estrella adores her.

Estrella had never until today had a Happy Meal, but she definetly has a lof of happy meal toys that my dad has got for her, he doesn´t seem to understand when I tell him that Estrella doesn´t need any more junk, he still brings them, and it makes me laugh when he says that he must eat today at McDonald´s because X thing is coming out, he is really sweet, but I could definetly do without that stuff, lol.

DH tans very quickly...I stay white, don't tan and don't burn. Nice not to burn, but bummer that I am always white. So, the spray tan works for me. Only sad thing is I am tanner in the first of my vacation pics than I am in the end :lmao:
I have 3 massage therapists in my office, so I get spoiled getting massages regularly. I used to have one a week for years, but have slowed my habit down to 1 a month. It can be hard to handle massages if you have a lot of inflammation...if you find someone to do gentle swedish and you drink a TON of water before and after it might make it more manageable. A lot of my fibromyalgia patients do that.

I am like you, won´t tan, but usually won´t burn either, I can be all day out in the sun and still look palid, I hate it!

Since the Aurora thing was brought up again...I was watching Cinderella 3 with DD's on Friday night. In the previews there is a new Princess series coming to DVD with the "first ever" new Aurora segment. In it, she wore a dress that was pink on top and blue on the bottom. I giggled to myself thinking that was one way to solve the "better in pink or blue" issue! :rotfl2:

mmmmmmmm, tamales. I love tamales. DH makes some good ones, but not very often since they are so time consuming to make.

Wow, he must be good in the kitchen, I have only made tamales once with the ladies that help out in our house, because they come from Oaxaca, and those tamales are the BEST. They are made with "mole negro" yummy!

Our retired school principal went to Oaxaca for 6 months last year for immerision/missonary work. Ever since it's been in my minds eye and here it comes again. Are things better there now? the violence was disturbing to hear about.

so glad to see you too, I missed your voice :goodvibes

hey! I'm also there from 19th October til 2nd November

I'll be in World on the 1st and 2nd of November...I could do a PI meet....

....and 'Originals' and 'Devouts'....;) ;) So, Deb....do we get to wear a special costume...or tiara's maybe as the Founder Girls???;) :lmao: (that's FOUNDER not FLOUNDER btw!!!!);)

You're so right...I like the idea of tiara's....look in my formal pic with DH in my signature....I'm wearing my tiara as a headband, but it's real and can be worn as a tiara, bun wrap or headband. It's a row of flowers made of crystal and pearls. Guess I could wear this and we'll look for one for you!
;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

ok..here's our story...

Mark and I were both members of the DIS (UK) boards and used to pm each other as friends. In 2002 the boards crashed :scared1: and as we hadn't shared email ads or anything I thought that was it, then when they eventually got going again I had the sweetest message "I thought I'd lost you", from him, and after chatting on msn, another UK board, and by email I eventually agreed to meet him one day....you know how you tell your kids NEVER to meet anyone you talk to on the internet? :rolleyes1

It was a very tough time as I was still married (technically anyway) but we both knew from the first time we touched hands that we'd found our soul mate, that missing piece of jigsasw puzzle. We've been through a lot, especially with my dd, who has had to adjust to a very different life, but we're all a lot stronger for it.

We married in 2003, with our good friend from the DIS as a witness, honeymooned (where else) in Disney, and on our repo cruise next May will be celebrating 5 fantastic years of marriage :cloud9:

So, the DIS and the Mouse brought us together, it's Magic all the way.....

Mandy,

Very sweet, so glad that you found your soul mate and followed your heart!!

Karen

Well, it looks like John and V have their championship match-up. I will remain neutral and cheer for both, I guess. Congrats John and V. :cheer2:

Julie, do you know of a good English/Spanish translation website? I want to be able to look up how to say things ahead of time that I want to talk about with Alejandro. And to look up things I heard him say to his cousin or friend so I know what they're talking about....well, I might not want to know what they say always! :rotfl:

Mmm no, the websites that I have seen make very bizarre translations, but I will be happy to help you any time.

There are so many animal lovers on this thread that I thought I'd tell you what I've found. I've had the hardest time finding info on the recalled pet food. At first they said it was store brands and then I found out it included brands like Nutro (which is what we feed our cats). Anyway, here's a link to the info on the recalled pet food. Very scary stuff because they can't find out exactly what is in the stuff that is killing the animals.

We are lucky that we feed Cordelia Royal Canin and it is not on the list!

the tension! it's too much!
pirate: d'oh!

Well done you pirate:

Thanks Deb, and yes, I definately want to be a taster ;)

....And so you are....already had you down as a taster...glad you're joining us....to date we have 14 tasters and 9 non-tasters....23 total....it sounds like a great party!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
