Boy, am I having a fun day - NOT.

Since our levy did not pass, we cut bussing to state minimums for the second semester. Laid off 17 bus drivers, and all children within two miles of the school do not get bussing. This saves us $300,000 and keeps the money in the classroom.

Well, big snowstorm on the first day of this. So a bad situation became worse, and I have parents calling me at work today to complain. Probably the same parents who did not vote for the levy the last time.

I need to find a better hobby . . .

People don´t pay for bus service? At Estrella´s school it is mandatory, we live less than a mile from her school and pay about $ 120 USD por bus service.

I was wanting to call in, the girls did not want to go to school, they wanted a stay home day which normally John is off, but he had to work today. :sad1:

My dd didn´t want to go to school either, and since she is on antibiotics AGAIN, she stayed at home with the maids. When I got home after work, she was busy scrubbing my tub, so at least she is still learning something while at home, lol.

Those are GREAT!!!!

Count me in for 3 sets. . .

What do we need to do to pay, pickup/mail, etc them?

WOW. Great Job!!!

Stacey

Count us in for 3 sets too. Who do we have to pay?

Our cruise is paid in full!!!!!! :woohoo:

So I'm sitting here waiting for Tyler's pediatrician to call me back about whether she wants to see him for his tingling hands & feet or if we should go straight to the neurologist and see if he thinks it's related to the seizure disorder. We've never seen any signs of seizures, but maybe this is the start....I have no idea, but am sure the docs will have answers for me.

:grouphug:

well, when you meet everybody IRL, if in doubt just call them Lisa;) chances are you'll be right:rotfl:

LOL :rotfl2: :rotfl:

It is fine - she can take the lead - I will help out however she wants or needs me to - I had not said what to PM me with yet and I edited out the post about me doing it to not confuse anyone. I am happy to be a helper and not leader. Just was willing to step up - besides I am still waiting to hear about doing the kids group.

Oh it is just all SO good on this thread!! :goodvibes :grouphug:

Perfect...just wanted to make sure you knew your post was noticed! ;)

:scared: Happy thoughts! Happy thoughts! ;)

I would suggest that you have as many people book tea as possible for the day that you want to do the tea. Have one person get a list printed up of all the resie numbers with the name and stateroom of each person that will use that resie number. Go immediately to RNBD and ask to speak to PJ. Explain the situation and I can assure you that if it can be done...PJ will see to it. :)

Last cruise I organized a brunch for what ended up being 30-40 people in Palo. I had the first group of 14 for the group and then everyone else who wanted to waitlist for it was on a seperate list. When the resies opened everyone tried to get resies for that day's brunch. When I got confirmation that we had the private room...the first 14 people were taken off any of the resie numbers and those were then opened up for others who wanted to join the group. PJ and Marco worked with me to get everyone matched up and he sat the rest of the group at the three tables along the window outside of the private room so we were all still close enough to visit during brunch.

Also on my first cruise before I knew anything there were 10 of us who booked brunch as a group. They sat us at one long table to the left as you enter Palo...so it can be done. ;)

Thanks Lisa, this is very helpful. We will all try to book and get as many tables as we can. The one problem that we are running into is that they said they just don't take large ressies for tea. There is no private dining for tea and you can only have four to a table for tea. They seemed to differenciate tea from brunch. But we will give it our all as you suggested and see what happens.

One question though Lisa, you said go immediately to RNBD and ask for PJ. What or where is RNBD? We aleady have our lists, that's what I faxed to DCL when they called me to say not going to happen.

Well, cocktails in your cabin while a few of us do our wash sounds like a good plan ::yes:: a few room service cheese trays, some cookies, a :mickeybar or two could turn that chore into a PARTY. :dance3:

mmm a party, maybe I will do laundry on the cruise...

I'm not very knowledgeable about it, but could those of us at WDW we do a Grand Gathering?
I've never done GG either, but that sounds like a great idea Marilyn!Anyone else interested, or know more about these?
We are going to Epcot on Friday before the cruise. Anyone want to meet?

Cheer up sleepy Jean . . .

Woody

Woody, if there's a meet in Epcot that day, I'd love to join you:goodvibes I love the Flower & Garden Festival .
I'm arriving at WDW later in the day on the 8th, staying at CSR. I plan to go to AK in the AM on the 9th, then I'll be heading to Epcot for the rest of the day.

We are applying to 2 different schools for K. Both schools have a 2 hour play period where they go to different stations and do a variety of gross motor skills, fine motor skills and comprehension, interaction with other kids, verbal, nonverbal testing. The school we want to get into does a 30 min. individual exam in addition to the 2 hour play. She's a very bright kid at 4.5 she is reading on a 2nd grade level, so we're trying to get into a bright and gifted school. BUT, there are 120-150 applicants for about 22 openings. Fortunately, we teach drug ed as visiting lecturers at both schools which will help. We also had some pretty powerful recommendations from headmasters to headmasters to help too. It's a dog eat dog world of Kindergarten here. As you can see she didn't get her brightness from me... since I can't spell Kindergarden!

I work at a private school and it's admissions season now...we're getting 10apps a day! It's crazy time. We do a screening, visit and parent interview. Alot of work for full day k!

Epcot was going to be our last stop on Friday, so that would work out perfectly for us. Since my dd has never been. We are really going to maximize our time at the parks. I was looking at the schedue and it looks like all the parks close at 9pm on friday. Am I right? Anyways, if thats the case, we could meet after that in DTD or as late as possible in epcot. I really plan on staying in the parks from open to close. I know I'm crazy:rotfl:

I have been thinking about taking a car service from WDW to the port instead of the bus. Anyone interested in sharing from WDW or is it better to take the bus.

Any information greatly appreciated.

I meant Lisa/lbgraves because she mentioned it. But thank you for answering because you're probably right. That makes perfectly good sense.

Nan, I tried to send you a PM regarding the list, but I got a message saying that your box was full. So I couldn't send it.

Not sure which is best Steph, I have planned on taking the DME bus back to the airport early on the 10th so I could hopefully be on the first DCL bus out to the port:cool1:

Hi there! Welcome! Oh we've done cruise talk over and over, I think we just stared early! I think it will all resume again. We've recently done a lot of excursion talk and now we're on the lanyards. We live in CA so our plans are pretty simple...we have school aged children who are already missing 11 days, so as much as we wanted to get to FL early, it's not possible this time. We're flying in on the 9th, staying at MCO. We have good friends who live in FL that are meeting us for dinner. In the morning we're in the DIS hummerzine off to the port (early). After the cruise we're renting a car and driving home! :sad2: Like I said, simple plans. We're just happy to be on the ship!!

DITTO to what Lisa said!;)

Karen

Me too V. Like this time last year - only much better of course as now it is only a little over 3 months to go!:dance3:

I haven't started training yet!

By the way with Karen not being able to ship the Champagne etc how do you think we will manage this?

We can ship to hotels and we will be staying at one the night before. We can bring it on board with our luggage.

Karen

Monica, you're so sweet. And I'm so proud of you doing 2 miles on the bike. I only did 2 minutes on the treadmill today and that was a lot. Then I did some work at the ballet barre. I'm better today than I was yesterday. Thanks for your encouragement and support.....and right back at 'cha!!!

Well done Deb and Monica!!!:thumbsup2

 :cool1: alright, has anyone else gotten the cruise info packet yet? you know, the one with the pamphlet listing all ofthe excurscions and such? we just got ours today and I'm soooo excited now:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:

I was wondering about those.

If they had Wi-Fi at the dance studio, I would carry my laptop with me there . . . instead I got to listen to . . . yes, more issues with bussing today.

Amy got some interesting news today at work . . . they may send her out to their call center in the Philippines.

If she goes, it is two 18 day rotations with 18 days at home in between. If she goes on the first one, she will leave as early as the first week of February. If she goes on the second one, she gets home from the second rotation April 23!:scared1:

Do ya think that's cutting it a bit close?

She has not traveled for awhile, I don't think since Alex was young. I will have to learn the single parent thing all over again! I told her I will take the first week she is gone for vacation so that I can get the routine going.

She finds out for sure later this week.

Wow, she's brave. Does she have much choice in this?

That will work. Go see PJ when you board (at the Palo booking place, probably Diversions) and he can switch the names for you. Good idea.

Does the names on the reservations actually matter as long as the right number turn up and the right stateroom is there to charge to?

FYI - there are Hooters in Aruba, Acapulco and PV.
Hard Rock Cafe in Cabo Acapulco and PV.

DH told me one is opening soon in our neighborhood, then he tried to pretend that no one would go there, HAHAHAHAHAH he'll be there for sure. What the heck I guess it's okay to let him look right?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
