For the lanyards: On our repo last year, one person did all the work and it was exhausting (I contacted him to ask the company he used.) Instead it maybe easier for us to make a master design and post it on photobucket, then put it at the bottom of the new updated master list. Each family could then download it and enter their own names and print it. Does this make sense? I'll post a picture of the lanyards that we had last year. We had lanyard teams who each put in about $20 to pay for the lanyards for everyone. He then met everyone at a table at the port to distribute them and then we had a dismeet at 3pm at Scoops.

I love the idea of every family downloading the master design and entering our own names. I couldn't imagine someone trying to enter in all the names, exhausting to say the least.

What are everyone's plans for sunday?

Mom and I are heading to Williams-Sonoma for a cooking demonstration/class (free is for me) and then we will have lunch at Johnny Rocket's or Red Robin and then we are hitting the Mall. I have to return some items that I bought during their sale last week online (cruise wear) so out of 11 pairs of pants/capris/crops I ended up with 7 pair that fit  Some will get made into Capri's from Crops, or Capri's from Pants but since most didn't cost more then $11 its not that bad a deal!

Then its onto Cabela's (does anyone else have one near by) I am going to bring my Camera and ask them if its ok i take photos (i always ask afraid of copyright infringement) if i get any i'll post them here for all to see!

 I have Sun/Mon off so I am glad its my weekend!

--Lisa/lbgraves-- what does WM mean? (abbreviation meaning challenged)

FOOTBALL!

NFC and AFC Championship games. I bet Cabela will be EMPTY!

The closest one to us is either about four hours away in Michigan on the way to Lansing (son went to debate camp at MSU) or 3 hours South in WV.

We must be talking two different things. The shuttle I took from the airport to the DL Hotel and back was, I think, $14 each way - $28 total if you paid for both legs at once. It was maybe $17 if you bought a one-way. I was just there in November . . . but, it was a big bus - not a van. Picked us up at the hotel, and I was at John Wayne in about 25 minutes (it was VERY early in the morning though) I think I left the DL Hotel at 5:00 for the 6:45 flight on Frontier. Did not need a reservation either - just get in line at the curb and wait.

Does anyone know the name of the company John used?

We have one about an hour away, but I've never been. But from what people have told me, it sounds a lot like Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. I went to the one in Grapevine, TX and it was AWESOME! I took tons of pics, but that was back in 1999 or 2000 before I had a digital camera. ;) Have a great time!

The one near you is HUGE Holly. It is like a destination.

I've got to take down the rest of te xmas stuff today as well. John took my car to work so I have no excuse.

I love this group!!

I am so glad that we are not the only people on the planet with our Christmas stuff still up!!

We are actually going to leave it up till Monday as we have friends coming over for "Christmas" dinner. We usually do it between Christmas and New Years, but with my being so sick this year, we kept putting it off.

This Monday is a holiday so we will do it then and we will take Christmas down the rest of the week.:thumbsup2

Thanks for making me feel right at home!!

Karen

Bobby should be fine for a long time. With all this talk of travel companions I went out to the garage last night and looked for and found my 3 foot tall inflatable California Raisin from (DRUM ROLL PLEASE) 1997 (his birthday was tattooed on his back-lol). He is fine, a little wrinklie but stands proud and tall. :thumbsup2

I know that guy has never been near a spa, the sun yes (that explains the wrinkles, right). :cool2:

I was amazed for 2 reasons: 1) I found him and 2) he was able to be restores to his original size.

I wonder if he would be interested in a visit to his birthplace in late May????

Bring him along!!! The more the merrier... just don't pack sunscreen for him or else he's going to be a grape...

and Lexi freely goes out? I have to drag Tebow out when it's any kind of chilly or raining!

Opposite of Tebow. I have to drag her out when it is hot here. When it is cold she will sometimes stay outside until I go and get her. When it is hot, all she wants to do is lay on the kitchen tile floor in the air conditioning.

The one in Dundee. MI? It is HUGE!! From their website ...

"Cabela's Dundee, Michigan Retail Store is located just southwest of Detroit off U.S. Highway 23. In addition to offering quality outdoor merchandise, the massive 225,000 sq. ft. showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction, featuring a décor of museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats."

Just out of curiosity . . . is anyone getting email notices of posting to threads anymore? I'm not. That is how I would get to the DIS and to our thread when I wanted to. I would click on the link to the thread and let it take me there.

I have not been getting them for several days now. Since they put the new server up it has been off and on, but now mostly off.

is it just me or is anyone else having trouble getting notification emails that posts have been made? Ever since the last server update or whatever that was a few weeks ago - I haven't gotten the notices and I was just wondering if it's just me. I watch 4-5 threads and have gotten no notices for any of them....

just wondering...

Iowa!! wow!

Yeah, right, wow! It's going to get down to -16 tonight. Yikes!

Hey, I think I mentioned that we used to live on Siesta Key, on Gleason Avenue on the north end. I loved being able to walk to the village. Is that really good breakfast place still there? I think it was called the Broken Egg or something like that. It's making me hungry thinking about it.

John, from what I understand many people's ISPs are not recognizing the new server info so the emails are going directly to the spam or delete folder. HTH.

ThreeBritts and her family (Heather -- who hasn't posted in a long time) on this cruise are probably moving to Iowa soon, so that will make 3 Iowa families! :goodvibes

Moving to Iowa voluntarily? Why? Just kidding. We are from here originally and moved away after college (as does just about everybody in the state). After living in Florida and Georgia, we moved back when we were ready to have children to be closer to family. Ah, how I miss that house on Siesta Key, especially on cold nights like this.

Not in there as far as I can see Lisa. It is just weird, because there were some days that I would get them, and then they would stop again. Now they seem to have stopped for good. If it is an ISP problem, the ISP must not be letting them through at all.

We went to the movies today and saw "there will be blood" it was pretty good.

trying to come up with something good to do Sunday and I just realized that the kids have Monday off too. We might take a day trip somewhere, I was trying to get DH interested in Mendicino.

OK, I think I can finally go to bed now.

Hopefully, I will not wake up to 20 or more pages . . .

This thread is really getting active again!

Thanks for stopping by Lisa (LbGraves) lots of Lisa's here.

Jan, maybe you want to post Bobby's adventures in Indy on his trip report thread?

John, is that Sophia in the photo in lbgraves signature? She's such a cutie.

Thank you!

Yup, that is Sophia with her buddies, Kaitlyn, Savannah, and Isabella. Taken on our December 9 2006 cruise in the terminal before the cruise. Did you notice the lime green shirts?
