Marilyn - If you want to sent something to me for a gift basket, I will forward it to Shirley. Or if you can tell me what you want then I can get it for you and send to Shirley.

That is very nice of you, thanks. Just not sure what though!!:lmao:

FYI for those who might not have seen this on the main cruise board....

The Palo Service Team will get $5 of this fee while $10 will go towards maintaining and enhancing the venue.
I read that.....!
This accident was the lead story on the 11pm news in DC tonight. It must have been horrible.
It is - I4 is still closed. One man was trapped all day but never lost consiousness...a semi cab was on top of his car. Now they are saying it was 70 cars involved. The smoke I saw last night was from a plane crash here at Myakka State Park.

Carol - nice to see you post and I hope you are feeling better soon.

So there is Diamond Horseshoe at DL? Is it the same as ours was? I loved that!

I know it has been a long time since I have been on the boards and you probably think we have canceled our trip. This is not so. I am afraid that I have been dealing with a pretty bad case of depression and have not been up to doing much of anything. I just wanted everyone to know that I am getting it under control and hope to be back to my old self before long. I want those that have stated interest in Fish Extenders to know that I will be starting to sew again very soon and have not forgotten them if they want one. Hopefully I can get myself to sit down at the sewing machine in the next couple of weeks.

To those on my Fish Extender committee I have not forgotten that either if it is still being done. I will try and get some information together soon.

I haven't even felt like reading the boards and after finding out all the pages I have missed I will not be trying to get caught up but will try and stay caught up from now on. If I have missed anything of importance I hope that someone will PM me and let me know.

Carol

Carol,

I can relate 100% with you....know that we are here for you whenever you feel up to chatting.

Please take care of you!

Wellcraft Marine just announced they will close their doors, 300 people will be out of jobs. They have been here 20+ years.

No, you should not admit it publicly . . . We are going to give you the honorary LbGraves award for early packing for this cruise!

I missed all the apnea talk this afternoon - another Cpap'er checking in here . . . what everyone told you Monica is very accurate. No pain involved in the sleep study, but I cannot tell you that I was comfortable. Mine was supposed to go until 6:00 am - at 4:00 am I just could NOT go back to sleep all trussed up with wires like the Griswold's holiday light display, and I asked the nurse if I could stop it then. She said, oh yeah, one of the worst I've seen in a long time.

Amy made me go, because she could not sleep - my constant snoring, and my stopping of breathing really had her worried. I finally decided to do it (this was in 2000) when I found myself nodding off while driving. Sophia had just been born, and I would literally come home from work at night, hold her in my arms while watching TV, and fall asleep by 7:00. I actually got the machine before our first Disney cruise, and took it with me.

Of course, I thought I was sleeping OK, but could not figure out why I was so tired. I too had forgotten what dreams were like. With my cpap now, I sleep like a baby, and need only Six hours max sleep a night to feel great. Many nights I am up until 12 and I get up at 6 for work. Sleeping in for me is anything over seven hours now, and I am never tired during the day. I never nap now during the day, and on the rare occasions where I have been so tired to fall asleep in a chair, I actually get a headache without my machine.

I also use headgear with nose pillows - it would be impossible for me to get a seal with a mask with my mustache. I used to have one that was hard plastic that was always breaking. Now I have one that is straps and velcro over your head, works great other than the bad cow lick it does to my hair some times. The best part is this one allows you to easily sleep on your side or your stomach with your head turned.

Both Amy and I sleep better now.

Make sure too that you ask for the most compact machine they can give you. My first one was pretty big, and a pain to haul on trips. My current one is about 1/3 of the size of the first one, and very light and easy to pack - even with the humidifier.

Losing weight does improve the condition - when I was down 40lbs I was MUCH better.

I just went out tonight and bought us an elliptical machine at Sears. The Nordictrac 990 that Sears had on sale, and consumer reports rated as a best buy in their newest issue. I had stopped using the treadmill we have because of knee issues, so this too should motivate me to get my butt in gear. I will pick it up this weekend when Alex is home - it weighs almost as much as me!:scared1:

John - thanks for your input too...I'm hoping they can figure out what is wrong so that I can sleep better and not feel so tired all the time.

You all have been great to me! Thanks again!

Btw - 3rd night in a row on the bike!

Samantha's teeth are really loose...she keeps wiggling them. I am afraid they will come out and she'll swallow them.

On our cruise last November, we had a group of DISers who walked in the morning on sea days. We had three sea days and walked from three to four miles each day.

Any walkers out there?

Woody

Woody - this sounds like a great idea! I know I try to do the steps as much as possible while I'm on board.

I'll be up for laps around the ship....can't be tooo early though, and John would love someone to hit the gym with him. He goes very early as soon as they open - I think 6am?

are girls bringing their costumes? I wasn't going to - aside from a pirates costume and one princess one that isn't disney but is very pretty. We don't usually line up to see the characters all too often so I am thinking there is no need really. No stroller either. Is that nuts or do you think we'll need it?

Good morning Marilyn!

I'm off to bed, still have a bronchial infection thing going... so not feeling up to snuff!

Hope you have a wonderful day!:hippie:

Karen

Venetia -

Good luck with both the weigh in and the sleep study. Keep us informed. I'm a little nervous about the study--never had one before. I do know that my dad sleeped A LOT better w/ his CPAP.

50lb loss is AMAZING!

Monica, good luck with the sleep study tonight.....I have done it and I must say it freaked me right out. I hated the whole thing.....but I'm not good with medical procedures of any sort.....doctors, hospitals, sleep studies, dentists......I'm a BIG baby and I DO NOT do well with these sorts of things. I read what everyone else wrote and they are right.....but for me it was devistating. I couldn't look at all the things attached to me, it spooked me. I could not get comfortable to go to sleep with all that stuff attached to me. Fortunately I did fall asleep and they got a good read. I was out of there so quickly. Then I had to schedule another night about a week later to get all wired up again and try to sleep with the c-pap on. Well that for me was even worse. I couldn't get used to the idea of this thing on my face blowing air up my nose and just breath naturally. I freaked out again. I did force myself to do it but it took a lot of concentration and it wasn't easy for me. I did manage to fall asleep again and they got their reading and I was glad to get out of there again. The end result was that I needed to use the c-pap because I went from 300+ episodes a night of not breathing to about 3. It really does work. But my problem at home now is that I don't use it. It still freaks me out and so I have lousey sleep habits and never get a good night sleep. Since I don't work, it's not a serious issue, I can nap in the afternoon if I need to. I still do have the issue of not breathing, but I would rather deal with that then use the machine. I keep it at home in case I get the courage and change my mind. Don't let my story frighten you. You'll probably do fine. I have a serious problem with anything medical. I just wanted to let you know the opposite side of the story just so you know the best and the worst of it and you'll probably fall somewhere in the middle. Good Luck to you I hope it goes easily and that it does indeed help you.

So behind, but had a moment to read a couple pages. The weather in Maui is just fantastic - a lot better than back home in California! We went on a sunset whale watching cruise last night, just beautiful. On Sunday, we watched the PGA Mercedes-Benz golf tournament - very exciting as it was the last day. Today, it is our actual anniversary (15). We rented one of the cabanas by the pool/ocean and will sit and do nothing all day!

We used her last January - we sent a whole bunch of pirate stuff to her ahead of time and she added those things to the basket (costumes and such). The kids loved them.

Hope Frank is not in pain anymore...they have so much medicine hopefully they can get the right plan in place....Prayers are with you and him and your family.
Thanks for the wishes about Hawaii - it is wonderful!

With a "guys" basket - I was thinking about sending Shirley a sports watch to put in a basket - my DH could use a sturdy watch, maybe Nike or something. And then some candy and such. I think you can put beer in, but my DH doesn't drink.

Love Big Love!!! I'm sure you will like it. I think I liked the second season better than the first.

Congrats on the job front!

Ok, off to the pool area for some breakfast. Happy Wednesday everyone!!! Lisa

Glad you're having such a great time Lisa, just an FYI, when you get back please clean out your PMs.....I can't send you the PM for the Master Dis List. We need your input to be included. Thanks.

Hi Deb

Thank for explained to me about tee shirt which I was confused recently days.

Anyway, about lime green, who I order it from? Should everyone have to wear it on first day?

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Hi Deborah, you can order your lime green shirt from anyone or anywhere that you find one. I know there is one at disneystore.com if you want to order from there. Or you could just look around locally. Any shirt will do, they don't all have to match, just be the same color.

You could wear it at the terminal on the first day if you'd like so everyone knows you're a DISer, but you don't have to. You should wear it for our picture that we'll take of all the DISers together. As long as the color matches, the shirt does not have to.

Hope this helps!
