3. Witchy Women - Kristin Chenoweth

I have not heard that song...She did Glinda (Galinda) in Wicked right? What's that song from...I need to know. Tapping my pea brain...:scratchin I just love her as Glinda...could she BE any more cute?

Mekayla is at an all day (8:00am to 9:00pm) Native American class so after my knitting class I went and got a hair cut. I cut all of it off! I had lower than shoulder length hair and now it's so short they shaved the little back of the neck hairs! It's cute, but my daughter's gonna' flip when I go pick her up tonight. I am having hair cut remorse.....it's cute, but sooooo short.

At this point, I have 38 people that expressed interest in riding the hummerzine to port. I think almost everyone will be either at the hyatt or arriving that am to mco.

I know there was mention of doing the van instead, as it might be cheaper and hold more people. I would really love to surprise my dd's with the hummerzine and think I would stick with that. If others want to hop out now and go for a luxury van...just let me know. Nothing is reserved yet.

Here is the breakdown that I have so far...let me know if I missed anyone or got anything wrong. I thought about putting all kid families in 1, but there were too many so I just randomly split people up, based on when I heard from them....

limo A
fourmcds 4
birkner 2
liserann 4
mexicanM 3
tiggerhappy 2
been2 marc 2
kymma 2

limo B
clynne 4
nskjerven 4
tammyalph 3
granmaz 2
lwilliam 2
ukangel 2
tigger 1221 2

with this breakdown, it is 19 people per limo and works out to be about 21.00 pp plus tip. I think that might be a better deal than most transfers to the port. I was going to call them and ask about their cancellation policy and see if I could reserve them for the am and then we could finalize names per limo based on departure time later. was thinking we could have one leave at 9 and the other leave at 10, unless everyone can make the 9 then we could just follow eachother there! would a 9 departure be too early (with the grocery stop) to arrive at the port?

This works perfect for us! And the 9 am departure would be great too!

Definetly the Hummerzine for us, would never ever have thought about riding one of those, definetly will make for a good memory.

Well, here I am again, perfect timing and all by myself . . .

I went over to the other side to try and find where they were making fun of us, but I could not find it. I was going to go over and tease them a bit. PJ, you and I both have 11 posts over there - someone daily updates how many posts everyone has.

Maybe we should all pick a day and time and ALL go over there and post like we are posting on our own thread. We can tell them we are just being neighborly and trying to help them out in what matters most!

Hope you guys are having a super Saturday night!

Question for today . . . How many of you have pets, and what kind?

We have a dog (Labradoodle - 1/2 lab and 1/2 poodle, chocolate colored), four tropical fish, and two hermit crabs.

We have a 12 year old Rottweiler, a 13 year old Sheltie, 5 cats (two were inherited when my mom died) and two fish.

Just had to post this . . . the expressions on the kid's faces just kill me. This is Sophia's BD party from last Saturday. She is the one in the black shirt with gold on it (High School Musical). The party was at a paint your own pottery store.

The picture is great. Kids can come up with the best expressions.

The music on my Mix Stick changes regularly. It could be Josh Grobin, Barbra Streisand, Charlotte Church, Celine Dion, Jimmy Buffett and just about anybody or anything else except possibly Rap or Heavy Metal. My taste in music is very eclectic.

Good idea:thumbsup2

We have a Bichon Frise puppy that has been with us exactly 5 weeks today, and between Cordelia (the puppy) and Estrella (my dd 4) I am aging before my time, I am not an animal person, but since dd won´t have any siblings, we decided that she should at least have a dog.

Kaylee,

There are actually 3 of us, but I am not sure of our plans yet, (just a bit too early,) so I don't want to take a spot that someone else is willing to commit to.

Karen-I thought 2 was wrong when I read it, but I think it'll be OK because I recall Kaylee saying they hold 20 people. I guess we'll have to wait for her to report back. :confused3

Being a Witch, I loved Wicked! My daughter has the soundtrack to the Musical (I know, not the same as the book, but in the musical Elphaba lives! Redemption!) anyways, we live in a little town, and the traveling Broadway show toured through POrtland, Oregon last year, we drove two hours each way just to try to get tickets to Wicked the Musical - no luck. Mekayla really wants to see the musical, she knows all the words to all the songs by heart. I liked reading Son of a Witch, too. we tried to listen to Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister on the books on tape but it was too hard to follow. I'll have to get the book and read it to DD.

Oooh, I wonder if we'll be able to see the eclipse in Oregon?

DD10 would love to participate in the decorating contest, but we're pretty eclectic - we're all over the Disney board with Stitch and Aurora and of course Mickey.

Aurora is my ALL TIME favorite! I don't like her in the pink dress, though. It makes me so  when Disney puts her in the pink dress (ah, the things I get bent out of shape over...)

I am a little too young to be a "true" parrot head, but I love Jimmy Buffet!
I also have a thing for the Beatles, my mom says I was born too late!:rotfl:

OK, since you're rubbing in how YOUNG you are...

My DD and I did see wicked with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel!! It was amazing!!!:cool1:

I also prefer Aurora in Blue!! "Make it Blue" as Merryweather would say!!

Thanks everyone re dd's Russia trip :( John, there were several US and Canadian schools involved as well and i know Becky and her pals were looking forward to meeting up with students from all over the world.

The trouble is they are booked to fly out on the 15th March, and have been told the visa's will take at least another 14 days to process....even if they managed to collect the xtra money from everyone it just doesn't leave enough time...and then there are no guarantees they'll get them still! Sucks big time :(

There's bureaucracy for you I guess:headache:

I know Becky was looking forward to being able to use this on her University application too:(

Ah well....
Sorry to hear things didn't work out for Becky. It would have been such a great opportunity. She must be really bummed out. I'd be ticked off too if I were you! Lousy bureaucracy!

Question for today . . . How many of you have pets, and what kind?

We have a dog (Labradoodle - 1/2 lab and 1/2 poodle, chocolate colored), four tropical fish, and two hermit crabs.

Not sure how to answer. 2? Maybe none? See we have one pet that lives with another family and another pet that is not living but is in our house.

THE STORY:
When we moved, our neighbor adopted our indoor/outdoor cat because our new home has wicked racoons. We visit often - we miss him a lot. Had him before the kids. He is a Ragdoll, 14 years old. The move would have killed him so we did what was best but it was sad.:sad2: So that is the pet that doesn't live with us.

Our pet that is not living but is in our house: When we move, we did bring our other Ragdoll cat as she was indoor cat- beautiful white mitted Kimba. She died quite suddenly from a stroke in December. It was really hard - we did all the tests - C-SCAN, MRI, started IV medication. Nothing worked. Very sad. :sad1:

The kids wanted her ashes but life had been so hectic (we had the cruise in January, work crazy, etc) we couldn't get around to picking them/her up. It was so sad and somewhat humerous - every night the kids would pray that Kimba was safe and that her ashes would be home soon. And I would be like OOPS. So at night I would keep telling myself tomorrow I will for sure go back to the pet hospital and pick her up. The morning would come, dropping the kids off at school, going to work, this thing and that thing. Next thing I know it is night time again and the same gosh darn prayer. OOPS again. Felt like such a terrible mom. So anyway, we FINALLY picked her up on Thursday 2 months later and now she has a spot upstairs right in the hallway in a nook right outside the boys' rooms. The kids just love having her - it is somewhat weird. Jack wants to take her to show and tell and I think the proper answer is no.

Sorry if I offended anyone with my story. I thought I'd share it as it is - which is a bit sad, a bit funny, and maybe just a little bit weird.

is it even possible to get "caught up on scrapbooks?" :rotfl2: DH told me that we were going to pack up all my scrapbooking stuff today and he was going to take over my room as the house office! :sad2: I told him, I still scrapbook, and I think he actually had to hold himself up from falling over laughing.:lmao: Really though, i will scrapbook sometime in 2007, you can't pack it all away! Just because the last thing I scrapped was in 2005 doesn't mean that my room needs to be packed up, does it?! :confused3

:rotfl2: Hmmmmm.....oddly reminiscent of a parent trying to fill a box of toys for a garage sale because the kid hasn't played with those toys for over a year. Then, suddenly, he says, "Wait! I still play with that!" :scared1:

Do I hear another event in the planning?! A CC bar parrot head "karoake" event?! :rotfl2: Really though, if I actually opened my mouth to sing 1. everyone would run away fast! :) and 2. it would mean I did have 1 too many of the DOD's! :lmao:

You and I need to sing a duet because it sounds like we have the same "quality" voice!

Grumpy John again not Deb, just wanted to tell all that we didn't fall off the earth this last few weeks. DEB's mom is in the hospital again and with all else going on it is realy hard for her to keep up with what she loves (disboards)
I have to slip off at work with the laptop to get this off so........

anyway wishing all of our dis board buddys a great day and hope to be skulking about again soon

John:grouphug: pirate:

Hope Deb's Mom is doing better.
Lisa

I for one am quite happy with our post count!:) It's quality not quantity that counts!!! Tell them to stay over their side of the canal!pirate:

YEAH! Most of us wouldn't have time to read their babbling anyway! :lmao:

OK, since you're rubbing in how YOUNG you are...

LOL! I am not young! I am 37 and I have the grey hairs to prove it! I just like music that was popular in the 60's and 70's not the 80's and 90's like one would think...LOL young...LOL:lmao: :rotfl:

My DD and I did see wicked with Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel!! It was amazing!!!:cool1:

I am Pea Green (opening up to green Witch referrences, I know) with envy. Mekayla would DIE ON THE SPOT if I told her you saw the original "girls" in Wicked. Oh, I am so bummed we live in a po-dunk little town.

I also prefer Aurora in Blue!! "Make it Blue" as Merryweather would say!!

;) :cool1: :thumbsup2

John,

We have one wonderful black cat, Star, who is currently at my sister's house along with DD while we are at the Coast.

We are watching the Chinese New Year's parade on TV, which is taking place in San Francisco. I've been to it live once before. (Native San Fancisco person!):cool1:

Bodega Bay is on the coast, right below Jenner and is just gorgeous. Typical seaside town with Kite and Candy shops, restaurants and not much else!!:boat:

There is a lovely golf course and club, which we belong to as our house is part of the Bodega Harbour homes. I brought picture cd's with me so I will try to figure out how to put one in a post this evening. My DD could probably take a picture with my phone and have it loaded in a nano-second, but alas, I have fallen behind with the picture technology. I am pretty technical otherwise.;)
