I still find it so amazing to see so many posts so early in the game - I hope I can keep up :). (I am a very fun person - sorry if I sound overwhelmed - I was going to wait before I wrote in but I didn't want more time to pass - I have major oral surgery next week so I need pixie dust - I'll just keep focusing on going through the PC -- my dream - always wanted to do it!) .

Welcome tinkertigs! Don't worry about keeping up....just jump in whenever you can. Good luck on the oral surgery next week!

It was lovely! I drove around it and it took me most of the day! Had some wonderful Walleye as well!

Karen

Ah, Walleye....the first fish I ever caught! (OK, the ONLY fish I ever caught). It was while visiting the UP with my girlfriend's family, I was about 13 years old and I'd never had any fish but fishsticks and shrimp. Oh, lordy, that tasted so good! And when I got home, my Mom was so glad that I was now willing to try "real fish".

Watched Jay Leno as well tonight and he had on Queen Latifah and Gerard Butler. It was so funny I woke my DH up from his "nap" on the couch because I was laughing so hard!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh man, sorry I missed that (I too was 'napping' at that time). I just love Gerard Butler and I'm pretty fond of Queen Latifah too. Thank goodness for the "mass logger" at work, I can go back and watch it on my lunch break Monday!

Okay, the next 6 extenders are going out priority mail today. :cool1: Deb (EllaEnchanted), Marilyn (granmaz), Jackie (ibouncetoo), Carolyn (clynne) and Tina (tlb2864 gets 2) be watching they should be arriving soon.
Enjoy decorating :artist: everybody. We are definately looking forward to seeing how everyone has personalized them.::yes::

YEAH! Can't wait to start mine. I believe when Peg (TiggersPal) see's it she will be ordering one also. She did mention it at dinner last week and is willing to give it a go, though she considers herself craft challenged. Though while talking with Cheri at dinner, Peg did give here a scathingly brillient idea for something for the cruise (sorry, sworn to secrecy and as a Scorpio, I know how to keep a secret!).

Getting hungry...time to go build an omlette!

I have been working on my TAXES since 5am......I had everything ready.....transmitted and DONE!! I am getting enough back to finish paying off the Med Cruise!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

So jealous! We ALWAYS owe, owe, owe:mad: This week-end I have to finish getting everything together and I just know the news will be bad news...always is from those tax guys. It kills me to watch the H&R commercials when you see the couple all excited. I want that to me!

Woohoo, thanks!!! Really looking forward to receiving this. I actually have some ideas for decorating it and I am so craft challenged I am surprised!!!

It will be lovely to have something for the cruise as everything seems to have died down a bit for now. I know it is 14 months away, but I love talking about it!!!

We have a lunar eclipse tonight that you on the East side of the US should be able to see too. Starts 9.30 here with full eclipse around 10.30 onwards.

The eclipse starts here around 6:30. Right now it is snowing, big pretty stick to the trees kind of flakes. Hope it clears off by this evening. Would love to be able to see it. It was clear last night:sad2: obviously.

Thank you!!!! I am so not the creative type, though...may have to put DD5 in charge.

Carolyn

Carolyn,

Those with kids should let them help with the decorating. There may be a contest (not official yet) and if there is there will be a catagory for families with kids under 13.

Ok, heading off to bed. We were at a HS tournament BB game tonight. Our team won!

Lisa, one of the kids on our team that I have talked about (the seven foot two Greek boy - Kosta Koufos) is going to Ohio State next year, and we even had the Greek National team coach here scouting him for the Greek Olympic Team last week!

He was born here, but you can play if you are of Greek Ancestry.

Another question to see how geeky you all may be . . . How many of you have iPods, and how many in your family?

Between the four of us, we have SEVEN iPods! Four video iPods (one each) a shuffle, a nano, and a non-video iPod. I am a Mac AND iPod Geek.

(Apple TV is on order too)

John, DH and I don't have ipods but we do each have Disney Mix Sticks as well as 2 desk top computers and 2 lap tops, 3 digital cameras (1 being a Nikon D50) and will be buying a digital video camera before this cruise. Really thought my DH had a lot of toys until I started reading everyone's posts.

Okaaayyyy....we may have an intensely Aurora-themed extender:). I assume the themes are generally Disney related? No Hello Kitty?

Thanks, again...it's going to be fun...gotta think how to make it a fun DS8 project, too...

Carolyn

Just a quick question that has been on my mind.

Just wonder how many "Parrot Heads" might be in this group?:confused3

If you have no idea what a "parrot Head" is do not worry, however you may be one before this cruise is over.

Doug

Big Parrot Heads here! :) Go to every concert I can and whenever I am in a grumpy  mood, in goes "cheeseburger in paradise" and instantly I am :) again!

I think that is one reason I love OKW so much. Usually as soon as I get there, the Jimmy Buffet music is playing and I feel so happy.

We only have 4 ipods between the 4 of us (3 shuffles and a non-video iPod). I love the shuffles for skiing or exercising. DD (8) is insisting on a video iPod for her 9th bday. We'll see if she gets it:) I think she will be getting that (we might get a couple) and then I get my macbook:cool1:

Thanks everyone re dd's Russia trip :( John, there were several US and Canadian schools involved as well and i know Becky and her pals were looking forward to meeting up with students from all over the world.

The trouble is they are booked to fly out on the 15th March, and have been told the visa's will take at least another 14 days to process....even if they managed to collect the xtra money from everyone it just doesn't leave enough time...and then there are no guarantees they'll get them still! Sucks big time :(

There's bureaucracy for you I guess:headache:

I know Becky was looking forward to being able to use this on her University application too:(

Ah well....

About time I went back through the last few pages and caught up now! Time to think of happier things!pirate:

Ok - I tried this earlier in the thread and I can't believe there are so many posts out there. Life here got complicated - no need to explain, but I'm starting over and want to introduce myself and hopefully you can guide me to all the goodies of how to get into groups, etc. I just can't read all the stuff up til now - there is no time or energy for that.
This will be my third cruise and it's my husband's and my 10th anniversary celebration. We are in our mid 50's and so if there are others out there who are like us, let me know. I am the Disney fanatic of the family - I just wish I could live there - it's the place I find my peace and my joy.
So, let me know what to do next. I"m not the swiftest person when it comes to computers -- I've gotten confused and lost on this site already and had to change everything. Rather than going back over and figuring it out and remembering who contacted me - I'm starting fresh.
I don't have a cabin number yet. I was one of those people who's TA didn't get in on time because the lines were busy so I had two reservations. The one had me in the back of the ship which I didn't want so I'm now on a category 5 guaranty but no room assignment. I am very claustrophobic so I wanted a room with a deck that is clear and now find out I have to get a medical form to request that....I'm so annoyed that it became so complicated. I loved my cabin the last time - I was on deck 6 near the forward elevators - it was so perfect. So, we'll see what happens. Since it's such a long cruise I want to have a room I will like and be comfy in. Well, now it's time to start putting the money away right??? I look forward to getting tips on shore excursions and stuff. I did read you were thinking about doing wristbands -- that is a great idea - they did that on my last cruise and it was fun to walk by someone and be able to say hi.

I wanted to go to Disney at the end of April so I'd have something to look forward to but DH isn't interested...sigh. I've taken my sister and each of my grown daughters except one so I get to take the final daughter in October - :cheer2: . Well, I'm sure I'll get to know you all better as time goes by - -as long as I get the hang of staying on the boards :).

:welcome: Sandy.

Ok, I need to catch up, I need to join the lose it cruiser thread, I need a glass (or two) of wine from Karen's wine shop, I need a new pair of shoes from Norsdrom (sorry John Jhalkias- don't mean to start a shoe talk again), I need this cruise to be sooner!

Spent the whole day in ICU. My friend (diagnosis last Thursday w/cancer) has too many clots in her arms and neck area. :sad2: Her husband has the flu so can't visit and they don't let children of course in ICU so she can't see her little girl either. Ugg. Messy, chaotic communication as we traveled from radiology to ICU to cath/radiology lab. She decided to do the infertilty testing and post-pone chemo and start radiation first. I'm being supportive but scared about her choice - this type of cancer (non-hodgkins, large B cell) protocol is chemo first. But she really wants another baby and feels the IVF thing is her only chance. But hormone shots? I don't know. Just seems like she should focus every bit of energy fighting this cancer (and right now blood clots). Thanks for listening...no need to respond- I know you are all out there  now back to John's favorite subject::goodvibes

Maybe I'll go to Neiman Marcus for a pair of shoes tomorrow. Wish it was time for a last call sale! Wait a minute...I have to save for this cruise so maybe I'll just dream of Jimmy Choo tonight! :cloud9:

Ok - off to catch up. Lisa

 so great you can be there for her and her family. Still sending you lots of positive energy.

:cool1: back to shoe talk...please post your new "babies" if you happen to buy some!

Thought I would stop in and and say Hi! Just booked on the Western Repo with the family. Way too much to get caught up on, but will give it a try.

welcome to the gang!:)

You would be right on our title of Geeks;

Geek; |gi?k| a person with an eccentric devotion to a particular interest

Nerd; |n??d| a foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious

We aren't boring, just devoted, :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Great definition! Love it :)

well, we are definitley way behind you in the IPod stakes! I have a nano and dd has an IPOD...that's all...we are not worthy!;)

I'm torn about what to do tomorrow. I really want to go shopping for our vacation next week, but I don't actually need anything. I think I will head to the all-day scrapbooking session at my Creative Memories consultant's house tomorrow instead. It will keep me out of major shopping trouble, but I will still get to spend some $$$. And maybe I will get the tiniest bit caught up on my scrapbooks.

is it even possible to get "caught up on scrapbooks?" :rotfl2: DH told me that we were going to pack up all my scrapbooking stuff today and he was going to take over my room as the house office! :sad2: I told him, I still scrapbook, and I think he actually had to hold himself up from falling over laughing.:lmao: Really though, i will scrapbook sometime in 2007, you can't pack it all away! Just because the last thing I scrapped was in 2005 doesn't mean that my room needs to be packed up, does it?! :confused3

Lisa: Continued prayers and :wizard: for your dear friend. And good shoe thoughts for you :goodvibes

okay paul and I think we might be one, does it involve the drinkie :drinking1 or the smokey :hippie: ? I can never tell which one that song is about :confused3 either way they both make for good company on a cruise....

the Heritage large mixing bowl in blue! I love their pottery too!

Karen[/COLOR]

I have the set of bowls in red....our beach house was red, white and blue and will be again when we get back over there....

Why hello, Brack. And maybe to pirate: 6900?? :lmao: :lmao:

Has anyone been to the "other" board recently??? They are making fun of us, saying how slow we are and can you believe they are only posting x pages per day or only on post # xxxx! :confused3 beware, they were planning a pirate: over here to increase our post totals!

Lisa lots of hugs and prayers for you and your friend.:grouphug: I really think you need the comfort power of shoes!;) (maybe even a bag to match!)

I love all the suggestions for books and authors. I belong to a book club, so I am usually reading whatever the club has picked, currently "The Innocent Man" by John Grisham, although I haven't started it yet. We just finished "Keeping Faith" by Jodi Picoult (sp?), which I liked, but not as much as "My Sister's Keeper." Anyway, I seem to be the oddball in my book club because I seem to keep picking unusual books that no one else really "gets" or likes. My recent picks were "Wicked" and "The Time Traveller's Wife" (which I really, really liked). The reaction from most of my club was "it was weird" or "I don't read science fiction." Whatever. I thought the point of a book club was to expand your horizons a bit and flex those brain muscles. I'm glad to see such a wide array of interests here, and I have lots of new books to add to my must-read list.

I've just started 'Keeping Faith' too, it's good but I prefer 'My sister's keeper' too. As I said before I really loved 'Time Traveller's Wife'. Has anyone also read 'Labyrinthe' by Kate Mosse? I'd love to join a book club.....maybe we should have one on the cruise!:cool1:

Another book that I have sitting, waiting for me to find the time to read it is "The Memory Keepers Daughter" by Kim Edwards. I read a synopsis of it on my Borders email page and it sounded really good so I picked up at Sam's club. It sounds like a good "book club" book that might appeal to everyone.

Karen

That sounds good too KAren...................so many books so little time!:confused3
