I want one....:sad2: did you book directly with disney...is that why you are getting all this great stuff?!

So very very Cute!! How are you going to be away from him for 2 weeks? Will he stay with his dad? I am leaving home DD11 and DD14.....I am not sure I can leave for that long.......

I got my postcard today ... I will scan and post it for everyone to see. I have 4 cruises planned so I do not know which cruise generated the post card mail......
Tyler will be staying with his dad and stepmom during the cruise. I did my first vacation without from him (non-Disney cruise) in January--the cruise was 8 days, plus his dad's regular days with him were right before the cruise, so it ended up being a total of 11 days away from him. It was a little tough for me, but he didn't even notice me gone! Sure, he missed me and was really happy to see me, but he didn't act like we'd been apart more than a few days. So I figure 4 more days on this cruise won't be a big deal. And having the following day off work for Memorial Day helps because we'll have that day together to catch up. AND I will have just taken him on a 7 day Disney cruise a few months beforehand.

I didn't know Disney sends postcards like that! Too cool!

That soounds sooo lovely - enjoy.

Back from my day of beauty...all exfolitated, manicured, massaged and hair done. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!

Julie,
I have been asking my friends if they have quit their jobs to keep up with that madness! I thought our DD Geek cruise was bad, but they are INSANE! That's what happens when you mix the Geeks, the Blabbermouths, and Captain Jack!

I am retired and I couldn't keep up with them even as much as I am on the puter!!

I was going to remark previously about your excellent english. I never go around to it, and I had finally concluded that English must be your original language and you ended up in Mexico thru work, marriage, etc. I am very impressed with your English. Much better than my Spanish, or any other language. I know absolutely zilch. Can't remember any of my high school French because I took that back in the dark ages.:scared1:

On the subject of pirating posts, just remember what they always say over on the EB thread:
Take What You Can!
Give Nothing Back!

My DD minored in French, loves to read it, hates to speak it.

Well, everyone,

Steve and I are backing out of the cruise. We wish you all a wonderful time! PrettyInTink, don't let Kevin stay up too late on the ship!

pahrumpgirl,
Keep makin' those fish extenders and if you need binding, let me know. Oh, and hey to Roy!

Take care and have fun planning everyone!

Denise
Mommaluvsdis

I am sorry that you and Steve will not be joining us. Maybe we will get to meet another time.

TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Sounds like you need a day of pampering!! I wish you were nearby and we could share a spa day!!

Holly, Tyler is so cute. It's nice you can vacations both with and without your little one. DH and I were lucky to have grandparents who were dying to watch our babies, so we could take some "just the two of us" trips. It is definitely a double edge sword though. We loved the time to ourselves, but I also missed my babies. I put my foot down and said no more trips longer than just a few days without the kids. I just couldn't take it. Now that they're older, we're ready to have vacations by ourselves again.

Red Eyes: Not brave enough to take a red eye with the kids (ok, I wouldn't want to be around ME after one, either), but I would earn SO many mommy points if we could swing a group Hummerzine trip to the port from somewhere!

Julie: I saw one post over on that other thread that did seem a little peeved, but I read meaning into EVERYthing. Mostly, the whole pirating thing seemed to be ignored. Don't worry about it, think it meant nothing to 99 percent of the posters over there!!

Holly: Oh, man, Tyler is SOOOO cute!!!

Off to drop one off and pick up another!:)

Carolyn

You are so brave even considering a red eye with kids :scared:

I have found that if I must wake before 5 am I am a monster, since I can´t even walk straight if I don´t have enough sleep. Poor fellow cruisers will have a chance to see me on Panama Canal day, lol.

I felt like I was trespassing in a bad way after the posts in the other thread, I mean, I knew I was trespassing pirate: but in a diferent way.

You got mail!

I got the Disney postcards, but not for this cruise. They were sent with our itinerary for our 4-night Wonder cruise in September.

Thank you for your comments, but I am sure that you will change your opinion of my English as soon as I open my mouth, my brain notices my mistakes as soon as my mouth speaks them, :confused3 but something in my head is not as coordinated as it should be :rotfl2:

At least I still read a lot of books in English (books in the US are waaaaaaay cheaper than in Mexico) and the disboards and babycenter keep me active in writing, though many times I start writing an answer to a post and I don´t know how to express myself, I just hope never to offend anyone, and if I ever do I will be happy to apologise!

Oh, and about French, mine is almost gone too. I hope that when dd starts having french homework in a couple of years I will remember something.

And definetly I won´t give anything back! pirate:

Thank you everyone for the pixie dust and thoughts. My grandfather passed away this afternoon and is finally not suffering any longer.

I appreciate everyones thoughts and prayers and whatnot they helped me get through all this.

 So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Corrine

I agree, I though English must have been your first language. :thumbsup2 I noticed you mentioned something about your dd not speaking english (I think it was on one of the boards), hopefully by next May both my dd's will be fairly fluent in spanish. Our nanny for the summer is originally from Guadelajara and will be working on spanish with them and then I have finally gotten an afterschool spanish program started at dd's school beginning in April. Not sure how good they will be, but they will enjoy trying! :)

I hope your dd 5 gets a lot of practice in spanish, definetly Estrella will be happier at the clubs if there are other spanish speaking kids there.

I am sorry that you won´t be cruising with us :sad1:

Woke up to about 3 inches of snow this morning. :sad2: Not too bad though, our house is at 600 feet and the snow was at about 500 feet, so once I got down to the "valley floor" the roads were clear, just a few flurries on the way to work.
I'm home early today because we are going to pick up our new motorhome! :dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :yay: Gotta go buy sheets too, oh and an egg cooker. We are so excited. This is our retirement dream! 13 months from today we are outta here!

Congratulations!! It sounds like a lot of fun. We are a few years away from outta here. :sad2:

Corrine

Did anyone else receive a postcard from Disney about the cruise? I got our preliminary cruise info, but no postcard from Mickey welcoming us. One of dd's classmates is going on the cruise and her mom mentioned that they got a postcard in the mail. I am feeling very unloved by DCL if I am the only one who didn't get one :sad1:

Zip zilch nothing :sad1:

You are so brave even considering a red eye with kids :scared: I have found that if I must wake before 5 am I am a monster, since I can´t even walk straight if I don´t have enough sleep.

Normally I would not consider it, but in this case, it may be our only choice with the school situation (and STAR testing). I can take them out for 10 days without issue or question, after that it gets sticky they told me. My kids are really great travelers, and can sleep anywhere. It's the adults that are the problem :scared1:. We generally find it tough on a red eye. But the adrenaline (sp) of being on the ship we make my body think I've had enough sleep. One night one of the cruise, for sure DH will be the one to go to bed first....regardless of lack of sleep--once dinnertime comes, I get a boost of energy and am wanting to be the last one up (I'm a night owl). I don't care how we get to ship, we'll be glad to be there...and have 15 days to catch up on sleep. How wonderful!

The next six fish extenders are going out priority mail tomorrow. Linda (seaulater), Nanette (nskjerven), Lisa (lakadaisy), Corrine (Mom323) and Virgina (ulittletinker), your extenders should be arriving soon. I know there are only 5 names, ulittletinker ordered two. Hope you enjoy!

Carol and Doug

Thanks Carol, not only an I sewing challenged, but craft challenged as well.
Katie might be home this weekend, she can help me think up decorating ideas.

I'm inserting myself very late into this thread, I know...but I've been reading the thread for a long time now and I'm wondering a vew things.

First, you sound like a fun group of people. Do you all know each other from previous cruises?

How can a newbie join the group? We're on the West Repro cruise in May08, our second Disney Cruise, and we're very interested in meeting other couples. I am 51 and DH is 48. We are also traveling with my parents, dad 78 and mom 72.

And finally, what is a fish extender?

Thanks
Tina

Welcome. There alot of newbies here. :) This is our second cruise as well. DH is 52 and I am 51

We have found the red eyes to work quite well when traveling back east. It is hard to sleep on the planes, but it really helps with the jet lag. We usually get to WDW around 10 am and check in. If we can (rare) we go to our room and grab a nap. Usually we hit a park, eat an early dinner and go to bed by 7pm. That switches us over to east coast time pretty quickly and the rest of the days go smoothly. DH and I usually need more sleep that DD's:confused3
I did find out today that our state testing should be done by May 2, which is great news. I still think we will fly out that friday night though.

Not one single thing from Disney. Never have in the past either. Maybe that other family booked straight through Disney? Don't know if that would matter or not.

We've booked through Disney both times and zip, zilch. I don't get any cute emails either. I've signed up for everything under my profile and nothing!:sad1:
I'm not feeling love from the Mouse.

Actually, your written English is better than most American's. ;) :rolleyes1

I too am signed up on every Disney Website. :surfweb: DrHug is not on the Disney sites very often, but guess who gets a birthday greeting from Mickey himself every year? Yep, DrHug! Me nothing! :sad1:
