Ok, off to bed. CSI Las Vegas tonight and we have another minature murder to solve.

Take care and chat with you tomorrow!!!

Your house sure looks like our summer house at Lake Almanor. I will dig around and see if I can post some pictures.

Noel

:surfweb:

Noel: Once again we find another thing in common. My parents lived at the Lake from 1986-last year. We have vacationed as a family there since the ealry 70's. My dad passed away and we've relocated my mom to Los Gatos. Where on the Lake is your place? My parents house is on the pennisula, accross from Rec 1 swim area. It's for sale if you know anyone looking.:rolleyes1

ok and we love DCL...too funny.

Well here's a couple of samples for you of our house and our street . . .

looks beautiful now, but how long did it take to move all the snow?

For the last 3 DCL cruises, our good friend, Ken has purchased the lanyards and tag holders and made the inserts with our theme for that particular cruise. He actually coordinates the whole thing and then get "volunteers" from the thread and we all split the cost of the lanyards as our sailaway gift to everyone in the group. For the eb med cruise I put in $35.00. Ken pulls everyones disname and name off the master roster list on the thread. If you are on the roster list, you get a lanyard and name tag. If not on the list, then you don't get one. He also makes up blank ones and gives them to a couple of the CM's on board and the captain and we make them "honorary disboard members". It has been very successful. If you want, I can provide you with Ken's info so you could PM him. I am sure he would be happy to give you the information he has as he spent numerous hours (starting with the PC cruise) in finding the best deal and all that stuff.

I'll see if I can get pictures of the last couple of lanyards and post them here so you can see.

Here are a couple of the lanyards that Ken has done in the past(hopefully the pix aren't too big)...

WOW! These are very cool! I can hardly wait!!!:goodvibes

Thank you...I have friends who think I should write and/or do stand up as a living...but unfortunately I have become used to the luxuries eatting and living indoors (not to mention cruising) so maybe AFTER I retire and can afford to goof off I will try is as a living...ohhh maybe on DCL...hmmmm that could be interesting...

I can't believe you are a bean counter, most of them that I know really don't have a sense of humor... you must be the life of the party at conventions!

Had to share. DS6 went in for allergy testing today and he's allergic to just about everything on the planet. :scared1: No serious food allergies, though, so that is something to be thankful for. Those food allergies can be downright dangerous sometimes. Anyway, he's allergic to trees, grass, ragweed, other weeds, cats, dogs, and dustmites. You should have seen the poor guy this afternoon. Anybody ever had this allergy testing done? They stuck him all over his back with various allergens and then just waited for his reactions. Well, he had welts all over his back almost immediately and he kept crying about how much it itched. And of course, he wasn't allowed to even touch his back, much less scratch it. :guilty:

The big issue in our house (other than the fact that I'm slowly killing him with my lousy housekeeping) is our two pet cats. DS9 is terrified we're going to have to get rid of them. First, we're going to make some changes like keeping the cats out of their bedroom and see how it goes. Really don't want to get rid of the cats, and DS would still need daily meds for the dust mites, etc. anyway.

All of his allergies and eczema completely disappeared when we spent 10 days in the British Virgin Islands last summer. Maybe it's time to move.
Welcome to the Caribbean, love. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: for your son! DD hated those tests!!! Zyrtech is our new favorite drug!

Welcome one and all..having survived My Frozen Valentine 2007 across much of our great frosted plains, we come to the portion of our show that we like to call roll calls and updates and round ups oh my!!!

Roll Call - just a couple of updates to existing, but no new members. By the way, has anyone heard from Drumbumswife? She posted in the begining but hasn't been seen or heard from since? Also, if you all would not mind reviewing the list and seeing if there are people on that you KNOW are not going, and sending me a PM to keep it current. Remember Capt Spanxx only has so much money for planks and grog and rum...

Updates: None

Round Up:

What are American Girl Dolls, what are My Twinn Dolls, what are Hollister clothing stores? The dolls are expensive toys that your lovely daughters will want multiples of, including enough clothes to require the dolls having their own armoire, and eventually, their own bedroom. After said girls out grow the expensive dolls, they move onto the Hollister stores and into expensive clothing. This also includes Roxy, A&F, Volcum, American Eagle, etc...(my child is rattling them off to me as I am typing this) every one sing along now in your best Maurice Chevalier accent...Thank heaven, for little girls. For little girls get bigger all the time...

What is bunko/bunco and how does it work? Try www.buncorules.com pretty good site and I found that I thought I could still play this game after have a couple DOD.

Snow...it's not just for skiing any more...it is also for shoveling and blowing and artfully decorating your home

MI4 - can the Ship of Thieves successfully take over the Dumbotron for a game of Disney Scene It? Could they stop us if we really wanted to? I think not...<insert evil laugh here>

Does DCL supply the shoe boxes to store reservations and other imporatant information in, or do the employees need to bring their own?

I think that is it for now...:laundy: time to go get me the DOD here...:drinking1

Your updates always make me chuckle!:lmao: Thanks for having such a great sense of humor along with your dosage of OCD!! They are both appreciated!

See I have come to the conclusion that there are people who are kids at heart and will stay young forever and there are those who are not. I am not even saying that it has to be Disney all the time either. We are going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure before this cruise because we haven't been there is so long. But the ability to just go out and have fun and interact with other people (even if it is just while you are in line) seperates us from the rest of the pack. We are the ones who keep the spark of wonder going. We can enjoy something again and again, or maybe even more when we see it through the eyes of someone who hasn't been there before. I think if you lose your ability to keep that kid at heart alive, that is when you get old. YMMV

So profound! So deep!! Are you sure you aren't shoveling... snow?

Went through the testing when I was about 18, just a couple of years (decades) ago! I was so allergic that they had to stop the tests and give me a shot of benadryl in my touchie!

They basically said that I was allergic to everything that blooms in Northern California as well as dustmites, pet hair, etc.

Suffered terribly for years until Claritin and Nasacort Nasal spray came along. I definetly don't have as many issues now.

We have a cat and I have a couple of suggestions in addition to not letting the cats in the bedroom. Try to get them out of the habit of being on any furniture. Pet stores carry electro-static pads called "purr pads" that help pull the loose cat hair away from other things. We have gotten our cat accustomed to being brushed on these and it helps keep her hair from other places in the house.

Always, always, always wash your hands after petting or touching the cat. This has helped me tremendously. If I don't do it my eyes get itchy and I get sneezy.

Best of luck!!

Ok, it's just me again. I've had the end of night post for the last few nights. What happened to all of the night owls? Where are the UK'ers?

Hello?...Hello?...Hello?...

Amen!!

Raining. It's Oregon and it's between Oct and June, it must be raining. :sad2:

I know I should be careful what I wish for... but I wish we had some of your rain. It's been pretty dry down here so far. Of course, I remember past years when we were dry in January and VERY wet in February and March. I will always take the real rain over gloom, though. I've been in the Seatle area when it has just been "gloomy" for days!:umbrella:
