I have to go to class, somebody give me a good reason to skip it! it's soooo boring, our prof doesn't actually teach us anything, just reads out of the book. i could do that in my living room darn it! where's 5 feet of snow when you need it?!

and he's 20 minutes late EVERY day.

I'm not sure how to add the location, but I can help with the picture! just right click on someones pic (I believe jhalkias said we could use his.) and copy the image address. then go into edit signature in the user cp. and type in [ img](without the space between the first bracket and the i)and paste the url of the pic, then type [/img] and save. should have a pic!

should look like this:

YEAH!!! I finally got it to work!! Thanks!

Has anyone who had a gty status gotten a room assignment yet? I keep looking on line and nothing has changed.

When I called to ask to place my room request in I was told not gonna happen, and that they can assign rooms up to the week prior to the cruise.

Oh me oh my, how will I create my doorsigns if I want to use the room number?

Anyone have a lucky way to get your room moved from GTY to #?

Could I just ask..what are 'American Girl' dolls?? (from a bemused Brit;)) :confused3

Did everyone survive their frozen Valentine's Day? The DC-MD-VA area was hit pretty hard but thankfully I am all dug out today.

I wish I was on the cruise already...

I'm sad (NOT) to report that it was almost 70 in Northern California for the first part of the day yesterday. Chilled down into the mid 50's towards the afternoon/evening, and it's 67 as I am typing this now! Sorry to be so smug, but that's why we pay the big bucks to live here!;)

Truth be told, I am probably the only native Californian that would prefer not to have it so warm in the winter months. I like having a wee bit of a season!! I also like the rain... I know, I know, I'm living in the wrong part of the world!

We were assigned our 11 room number first day, but I think I would actually prefer GTY. I think there would be a better chance of an upgrade with a GTY than an assigned number. Yes, I'm one of those people that would be happy to get a little more than I paid for. Hasn't happened in 8 cruises, but one can wish.;)

They are actually lovely, and quite expensive, dolls that are taken from books depicting events in American History. They have stores in New York, Los Angeles and Minnesota and have movies that have been shown on TV and on DVD.

Here is the website if you are curious http://store.americangirl.com/

Just found out that a dear family friend (group of 5) want to come on this cruise. She told me an agent was working on it for her, but I told her I'd check with the source of all knownlegde (the DIS of course) to see if anyone had suggestions to get on board with us. The want to have at least a cat 6, but with 5 people I think they'd have to have a cat 4 (which would be ok I suspect)

I wish I knew last month they wanted to go...I'd have booked them right after I booked us.:confused3

My TA e-mailed me yesterday that she could upgrade us to a CAT 3. She had one available. I decided against it as it was $4,000 over the CAT 6 that I had.

I gues my advise would be to hook her up with a really good TA who sees when things come open......PM me if you want the name of my agent.

They used to have a very nice reception for the CC members that included cocktails and a nice buffet of snacks....fancy stuff. Now they have cut back and they give you a rice krispie Mickey head and cup of coffee. The Ship Officers do still come and say their thanks though. Guess there are too many of us and it costs too much. However, I think that is it a small cost to give us a free drink to thank us for continuing to spend thousands with them and recommending them to all our family and friends.

We had a lovely, (and quite large) CC party on the EB repo in 2005! Full buffett and DOD's!! Woo Hoo!!

Thanks for all the get well wishes for my Holly.

We have some American girl nuts in our house too. I havent gone in the past two summers, but I used to make the annual trek up to Madison Wisconsin for the American Girl Sale to benefit the Madison Childrens Museum.

Tickets are actually sold via ticketmaster and its the second Saturday in July. We pay about 50-60 per doll and the doll clothes are about half price. The clothing for the girls (fancy dresses, etc) is very CHEAP, about 70-80 percent off retail. Held in a big warehouse and people go nuts. There are hundred of people there and tickets have specific times for entry on them.

The doll boxes didnt come with lids or books, and the clothing comes bagged vs. boxed, but we loved going and spent ALOT of money but alot less than we spent on them retail. If you arent into crowds or warehouses, its not for you, but we actually enjoyed it.

I cant find the original posting about the lanyards, is there a picture somewhere?

Still havent been able to get the logo in my signature either, but hopefully when my dd feels better, she will assist me.

We also are still GTY status.

My name is Nanette, and I'm an American Girl addict....we are stopping in LA on the way to Dland to pick up Nicki....and yes this was a bonus Xmas (3 dolls) good heavens I hate to say that outloud, it makes it look like Molly is spoiled rotten (which is only partly true, because I'm the one that loves those dolls so much) The hard part is deciding who will get to come on the cruise with us.

Our DD brought Elizabeth on our last cruise and Felicity to WDW last December.

We loved American Girl Place when we were in NYC last June. The lunch that we had at the Cafe was one of the least expensive things that we had that entire trip and we got to bring home "souvenir" items. Really worth a visit!!
Of course DH visited the Natural History museum instead:goodvibes

Hollister Rules our lives....TEENAGE GIRLS....which it would my guess you do not have since you do not know Hollister:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It is a "fake" California type surf shop.
:rotfl2: Yup, that explains why I didn't know what Hollister is! Fine with me....I hate shopping. :scared1:
