May 10, 2008 Ship of Thieves! Stealing the Magic..AGAIN!!! Panama Canal FL to CA!!! Part 2

We got about 10cm of snow last night with another 10cm to arrive during the day. Driving wasn't the greatest -- no snow day here unfortunately. Some parts of Ontario are expecting up to 70cm of snow so I'll take the 20cm. This is the most snow we've had all winter so can't really complain and I like the look of snow on the trees etc.

Yesterday I was looking around and found some sites that sell lanyards. We could have ship of thieves printed on them - they would have clips on the bottom to attach plastic holders to hold the KTTW cards. From what I've seen the cost varies depending on the number ordered but would probably be around $2-$3 each. Is anyone interested in this??

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I also would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. DH and are going to dinner tonight to celebrate our anniversary.

This morning on our way to work we stop at our local country radio station to renew our vows. The station does a drive thru wedding chapel every year. With as suprise wedding gift of $20.00.:woohoo:

Hi Guys!
Happy Valentine's Day! :flower3:

We will be joining you on the Ship of Thieves! pirate: (We were also on the 12-9-06 double dip geek cruise). Hi Geeks!

I've been reading this thread for a while...Like my tag says, I'm a bit of a lurker. I figured I'd post, and let you get to know us.

It will just be DW and I, we do not have kids. (We do sometimes act like kids).
We will be linked with our regular cruise buddies (our best friends which we usually only see on vacation).

We are very excited :woohoo: about the repo cruise, but there is a chance we may have to change cruise plans before then. :guilty: But for now we are in!!! :thumbsup2

This is the information I pmed to AuntyBrat

Glad to see you again! Hope you do make it with us!

:offtopic: This is totally off topic :offtopic:

We are getting a Noreaster here on the East Coast. I do not know if you have ever seen the power of a Noreaster. Winds are like a hurricane. Anyway, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is closed as an 18-wheeler truck overturned on the bridge from the storm right now.

We cross the bridge a lot to go to our second home in Bethany Beach DE. This webcam shows you live the ocean (about 1 block from our house). The ocean looks so angry this morning!

I hope the Noreaster doesn´t cause any more damage.

I would definetly be interested in 3 of those lanyards.

Congratulations that sounds so sweet!

My DD's teacher just lost his dad. I would normally know what to do but this is the first time we have ever had a male teacher. He has to fly to NY and won't be back for a couple of days so I am going to hold back on the Valentine fudge I usually make. Does anyone have any ideas what we can do to let him know that we are thinking of him for when he gets back.

drop him a note. My dad passed a year ago and the cards really made me feel loved. Got some from way out places & people. Even if you wait awhile and send it then, they still made my sad day (which was alot of them during this last year) a little easier.

Here is our door sign from the last cruise

No one has talked about the $$$$ ... I am guessing we will end up with about 20 playing - but as many as sign up can play - so don't let that worry you!! - if we do $10, that would make the pot $200!! There are 4 cash prizes - Most Buncos, Most Wins, Most Losses and a random drawing to get your money back from those who do not win $$$ or baby bunco!!

I was thinking we should play Monday after Castaway Cay - first day at sea - what do you guys think? What time?

I forgot to mention in my PM...$10 sounds good to me! First sea day sounds great. I'm so excited, wish we didn't have to wait so long to play!!!!! HA HA.

Fiona-I'm interested and happy to pay. Not sure how many I would need...how many do you need to order? Regardless, put me on your list and I'll decide before you need to order.

Thanks!!!

Mickey, welcome! Another Geek on board! :yay: It will be great to sail with you again!

I'm cool with $10. But I'd suggest not trying to do it the first sea day...maybe a little bit later in the trip, when we need a diversion ;) , like one of the times we have two sea days in a row (13th/17th/18th?). Also mid-afternoon, after folks would be done with possibly conflicting Palo reservations. Just my suggestion.

I spaced that we were doing this in the adult area...I'm a dork...scratch Mekayla from the bunco reservation request, it'll be just me and I think anytime we play would be great, as long as it doesn't interfere with eating and drinking...oh, wait a minute, we're eating and drinking while playing! Then it's all good!

Well, hello everyone! I would love to get to know you all better but have pretty much given up. I just can't keep up with you all. Since this is only my third post in over 300 pages I am guessing that maybe I will be posting about every hundred pages or so.:confused3

Hey You! We live chatted last year around September! So glad to see you're on this cruise! We all are going to make the best friends next year! Whoo Hoo!

Hmmm... tuxes and dresses and :laundy: oh my. I do not want to do laundry on the ship (again - I have never NOT done laundry on the ship) but I can't even imagine packing for the two of us in under four bags for two weeks. Have ya'll heard about some of the airlines limiting your checked bags to one per person!?!?:scared1: I guess we're gonna' really go "all out" for the formal nights and such, huh? Mekayla and I always wear nice dresses on formal night, but I have only done the "beadded gown" thing once, and frankly it was a lot of stress and hassle worrying about "the gown" in transit. Is it wrong to not want to get all dolled up? Are the expectations higher since this is a longer (more :snooty: ) cruise? Am I being a dork?:sad2:

Add us too, please two for me.:woohoo:

Lanyards - most of the places require an order of at least 100 and since we aren't going for a while (darn) I'll wait to see how many we need because the price does go down a fair bit the more you order.

If you're interested can you please go over to www.shipofthieves.com and post your interest and the # you want under the thread I've started there? It's under the "tshirts, logos etc." area. Thanks - I don't want to miss anyone and it will be easier for me to look there than to scan this thread. Thanks.

Still snowing here although not as much.

No real plans for Valentine's tonight - I have a late client (actually one of the other lawyers is buying his first house tomorrow and they are signing the documents tonight).

I don't blame you. I am not looking forward to having to get all dressed up. Plus spending money on dresses I will never wear again.

Hello all....although I have been a member of the disboards for years, I don't think I have ever really posted. I just thought I would check out to see if anything was starting for the may repo cruise and came across 300+ pages of posts! Needless to say, I haven't read them all, but wanted to say hi.

We are so excited for this cruise and I have been hoping I would get to do it since they first did the repo cruise a few years ago. I have only been on 1 other cruise...a 3 day disney cruise in october 2005. We are DVC members and tend to just stay at the world instead of cruising but I cannot wait for this cruise.

It will be myself, dh and dd's (9 and 6 at time of sailing). Hopefully I can get a chance to catch up on all the posts...but more likely I will just try and read what is getting posted from now on.

totally not being a dork, but on the other hand isn't it great that if we've cruised before and bought that darn sparkley dress we can wear it again (and again) I'm so glad I have that part of my shopping done with. In my fantasy world I'd drop 20 (or 40) before Panama then I'd have to find another dress but shopping is more fun when you can find dresses in the right size (un-fun last time....)

I like to shop for the kids. DS is easy Ebay tux, I'll look at that yahoo site too thanks for that tip. DD not as easy since she is at that in between age. Too old for princess dresses too young for glam...I'm sure we'll find ourselves engrossed as it comes closer....

WldWcnWmn, I sure do remember chatting live.:rotfl: I couldn't keep up and gave up. Unfortunately my computer skills have not improved. Heck, I still have dial up. Don't even know how to quote. I am going to have to do something about this.:confused3

I am not one to worry about formal nights. Like I've said before...don't want to buy it, don't want to pack it, don't want to wear it. Topsider's is very nice for dinner when we don't feel like dressing up. I will be packing very light and just do a couple loads of laundry.
