O.k I called back and you can only get free kids within 14 days of deposit. So I am thinking I need to go ahead and do Travel Guard. $141.00 verus almost $400.00 you do the math.
I'm an Earl Grey lover too.....AND they have it in Decaf on the ship!
OK.....how much of a geek will I be if I admit I first tried it because of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard?
I got hooked on it because of Jim. There is nothing like drinking a hot cup of Earl Gray early in the morning sitting on the shores of a lake in Algonquin Park. We canoe/camp in the summer months in Algonquin and always have a great time watching the quiet lake drinking Earl Grey.

Do you have travel guard's phone number handy?
Actually, I can answer this one because someone posted it on the main forum. Apparently, to get the airfare reimbursement, the airport has to be closed or the airline has to cease service for a 24 hour period.
That may be a reason not to use Access America at all, but I don't think to use DCL over AAA for the AA insurance.
Looking at my insurance policy for a cruise next month, the Access America plan will pay some amount for departure delay of 6 or more hours, a smaller amount for a delay of 3 or more hours if you miss your cruise, but not FULL cancellation until the airport is closed more than 24 hours or you will have missed more than 50% of the trip.
This is confusing.
I just bought the DCL coverage....
The Access America wording of pre-existing condition is:
'Any injury occurring prior to and including the effective date of insurance and any illness during the 120 days prior to and including the effective date for which medical diagnosis or treatment by a Physician has been sought or for which symptoms exist which would cause a prudent person to seek diagnosis, care, or treatment.'
They supposedly do not count medical conditions for which you have been seen that are under control if you are healthy enought to travel at the effective date of insurance.
For example, my DD with diabetes sees a dr every 3 months but if she was healthy and in control and able to travel at the time of purchase it should not exclude her from coverage.
Since this trip is so far away, it is that 3 month period from final payment to the trip that is the gamble, because if something happened you could just cancel.
There was a time not too long ago that we didn't have any pre-existing conditions either, so I understand those that are 'that type'.
My understanding is that the AAA Access America family plan offers higher benefit levels than the Disney Access America plan and the AAA plan is free for kids, I'm not sure why people buy the DCL coverage instead. Is it refundable if you cancel the trip? Can anyone explain that to me?

so those of you with laptops....how long does the computer battery last? i see everyone talking about using them on the plane but i was wondering how long you could watch movies???![]()
I must be one of the flew people on the planet that doesn't like coke, pepsi or root beer. Only time we ever have it around is if we have company.

I'm just now learning to play a domino game that my friends call "Mexican Train". The dominoes go up to 12 and there's a plastic piece that goes in the center of the table that has a train on top (looks kind of like a little mountain) and then cut-outs around it. You build on your own and others' "trains" like regular dominoes. Is it the same as what you're talking about?
It's fun, but I couldn't play it on my own--I need to play with people who really know the rules. Of course, I DO have 15 months to learn, don't I?![]()
Many moons ago when middle DD was about 15, she and my youngest sister (age 16) participated in a pool game to see who could stuff the most ping pong balls into their bathing suit top. DD won with about 30 and sister was second with about 25. Both are well endowed, swimmers and could hold their breath. Believe me it was a sight never to be forgotten!!

Okay, glad someone else knows about Mexican Train also. The one thing we have found out about the rules is that everyone plays differently. When my parents come they play totally different than the kids do. And they are the "experts" (so they say) since they play it at least once or twice a week. (guess that's what they do since they are retired)
My mom even has a train for the centerpiece and you actually touch the top and the train whistle blows. Choo-choo, choo-choo. it can get pretty irritating, to say the least.
DH, he just puts up with the whole game playing thing. He will play, but I have to drag him into it!
Really you need at least 12 to play bunco.....we have played with as many of 40. Really, there is no limit.
I have played BUNCO forever. Maybe that could be my contribution......I can plan a Bunco Day. To play 13 rounds, it takes about 90 minutes. In our neighborhood we have BUNCO for kids, BUNCO for teens, BUNCO for moms. We have travelling BUNCO. Several of us are lucky enough to have a second home. We have one in Bethany Beach DE. Travelling BUNCO we travel somewhere and play while we are there. We sitesee, shop, go to the beach, or do whatever is available where we go.
If we did DISNEY bunco, I would need to know how many would play, so we could get the right # of Baby Bunco prizes!!
Maybe I can get this on the WEBsite.....can someone PM me what I should do?
HOW FUN!
Thanks!!! I just called Travel Guard and booked it. Ours was $160 for the Essential Expanded. I had to guess at what the airfare would be, but it's OK. She set it at the maximum cost without having it jump to the next price category so we have another $800 fudge factor (which I would hope the tickets for the 4 of us wouldn't be $1800).
Thanks again for the tip on Travel Guard Lori!!!!
(Noel-thanks for the phone number!)
anyone watching the Grammy's? and is Des Housewives a new one?
Wow lots to catch up on! We just bought our 1st house so the next month and a half is going to be very busy (we close on march 23).
Thanks for sharing all your great ideas! Are you going on the cruise? If so, I'd love to spend some time and have you teach/show me how you put things like those logos together.![]()
