I think nearly everyone has been burned on this one, but I also have heard of a couple of travel agents who were successful in accomlishing this for their clients. I don't know how or why, it may have something to do with this size of the company or the way rooms were held/booked in groups, or the superviser they got through to. DCL just really bungled the handling of this one! And we THOUGHT they had been getting better with each repositioning 'go-round'.

I was on the phone from Monday the 29th up to late last week trying to get this worked out. I was misinformed repeatedly, and now have resigned that there is nothing I can do. I could not transfer my on board discount/credit. But I did find out that Cat. 1-3 aren't suppose to get OBC/discount and we did get it for the Roy suite for our last cruise. So I figure DCL and me, we are even. But it sure caused me a lot of frustration until finally, I'm at peace.

Needless to say, I am very, very careful when I fly United. I try not to fly them but sometimes it is unavaoidable.

Argg. Finally got worked out but needed to get 1K in involved. It was just a mess. That being said, they have the best flights to Orlando so probably will use them again. Lisa

ulittletinker, I wonder if you have the same situation that I do? I made a reservation when I was on the Magic last June for Dec. 07 (since that was as far out as you could book at that time) with the intention of moving it to a date in 2008. Although my travel agent had that reservation number, when the phone lines were so busy on the 31st, she made my reservation for this cruise online, which created a new reservation with its own number. Now I'm being told that the reservation she made online, for that price, can't be transferred to the reservation I made onboard (which gives me onboard credit and a discount). If I want to get the discount and OB credit, I have to make another reservation at today's prices under the number of the first reservation.

Is this the situation you're in? Please let me know.

Yes, that is the situation Im in. I did book on board with a dummy date as they call it. Im note very happy about it Because the person who was covering for my TA, had reccomend that I wait until she gets back in town to make the transfer. In the mean time the price is going up,up,up,

I already have my United flights for December and will probably do it for the repo. Hate to use them but they have a direct flight both ways.

It's baffling to me that DCL is taking this position. Obviously it's about getting $$more money$$, but come on...could the ill-will that's been generated really be worth the extra money they gain by not honoring commitments made by their representatives?

Of course some agents/companies are able to get this accomplished for their clients because it's always a matter of who you know and how persistent you're willing to be.

But I don't see this as a case of trying to beat the system or take advantage of a loophole; that's what makes it so hard for me to understand. Loyal customers were just expecting to get what they'd been led to believe they would get.

Very, very disappointing...

Yes, we are on board. Thank you to those of you who knew and kept it quiet, letting us make the decision as to whether we want to take this up again.

My DH and I have been reading the posts about the Fish Extenders and debating on whether we want to take up this project again or not. It all started when I found the Disboards for the first time and the thread for the 11night SC. They were busy talking about Fish Extenders and I wanted one. After looking and not finding one I decided to try and make one. One of the girls on the cruise was nice enough to send me pictures of hers and I figured out how to do it. At that point there weren’t many people on the thread so I offered to do them as a gift. Well, as we all know can happen, the thread grew by leaps and bounds and the project became bigger and more expensive than we anticipated (not that we weren’t happy to do it). Anyway, we have been hesitant because we really cannot afford that expense again. Luckily I am retired so the sewing isn’t really an issue. My DH and I would be willing to do this again but only if we charge. We can do them for $20 plus $5 shipping in the US. Outside of the US we would have to check on what shipping would be. That will just about cover the cost. The extenders will be a little different this time since it is a different cruise but the overall style will be the same and it will still be in Mickey colors. We have been looking at material and as soon as we make up our minds we will let you know what the colors and materials will be.

There, now the cat is out of the bag. Amesmom was the only one who figured out who I was. I am really surprised that since our Dis name has been brought up a couple of times in regards to this no one else had put two and two together. Anyway, feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I should have also said that you can change the words under "edit profile" . . . but some of those words for some of us have been put there by the "tag fairy" . . . a mysterious beast that picks up stuff from posts and magically adds it to your profile and in color!

Of course, I could ask my husband, but that would be difficult as he is always asleep when I am on the board...

My DOD is diet Dr. Pepper.

DDP is my favorite "cold caffiene" usually in the afternoon. Disney is only coke products, so they never have it on the ships or in the parks! So I am forced to have "other" DOD's, usually wine as we own a wine shop, or "other tropical beverages".

Oh the things Disney forces me to do...

I've been sick since Thurs. with a very wicked stomach flu--FINALLY today feel somewhat better. I didn't know it was possible for my fingernails and hair shafts to ache!!! I couldn't even stay on the computer very long, so you know I wasn't myself!

As far as t-shirts, I've had success making transfers for dark material with my printer . Is that what you're talking about?

A couple of references have been made to "DIStag"--what is that?

My DH and DD have had this flu! DD had it the first week of December and then got it again 2 1/2 weeks later in WDW. My DH got it the day after Christmas and then again 2 1/2 weeks later! So be careful! Stay on a clear liquid diet!

I have to warn all of you though . . . I am a serious gameplayer. Amy will not play any games with me, and the only one who will play games with me is my son. I absolutely HATE losing, and I play to win.

Unfortunately, for me games are as much competition as social. So just beware if you ask me to play. Not a sore loser, or a bad winner - just serious about all competition.
