Thank you for saying that PJ....it took me forever to understand what they were talking about when the big fig discussion first came up. No one else said anything so I figured I was just behind in the times....Now I know you and I are on the same page:goodvibes

but it is in the last chapter of the other thread :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Cars

A bit of a turn up for the books today.

When I got home last night there was a voice mail from the Smart dealer. They had an orphan available for me.

I had just been in this past Saturday and put myself on the secondary waiting list. I do have a normal reservation, but was facing a 1 year wait for a car. The dealer secondary list is for "orphans" cars ordered, but the person changes their mind.

I phoned today. They had a car come in yesterday, and the person who ordered it decided that they did not want i, they wanted a convertible instead.

Amazing thing is that it is the color I reserved and the options I reserved (not that a Smart Car has many options). It did have the upgraded sound system which I did not want and does not have the security package that I did want.

So, I pick it up my orphan this coming Saturday.

I'm feeling a bit stressed out because I was really preparing to be waiting either a few months or so for an orphan, or a year for the car I reserved.

Still not quite sure if I'm excited or in shock.
.

Well, I can't wait to see the pictures and hear the report! Congratulations!

I can understand what you mean about being in shock! That happened fast!

I think the 94% fat free microwave popcorn is a great snack.

I also like steel cut oatmeal. I make a batch and keep it in the fridge. I then measure out a serving and heat it up in the microwave with a bit of skim milk, vanilla, and Splenda. To me it has the consistency and texture of rice pudding which I love.

I also really like the WW 1 point mini-bars, especially a chocolate caramel with a good cup of coffee or the peanut butter bliss is also fantastic.

Another good snack is a light english muffin (1 point) with some light Laughing Cow cheese (1 point per wedge). I especially like the garlic.

If you are feeling hungry, have you considered switching to Core instead of Flex? I have quite a few members who are doing great on Core. One of my members is now 1 lb away from her goal weight.

.

Those are nice snacks, I have a pan of brownies, the face of a mickey cookie and a carmel apple here for my snacks....

I LOVE the peanut butter bliss bars. I even had one today. I also like the Dark raspberry 1 pt bars. I do agree that the 94% ff popcorn is a great snack food if you need volumn. I also like the Western alternative bagel and the WW single serving cream cheese which is 2 pts total.

I have thought about switching to core, cause I have been on a plateau for a while, but I don't know if I completely understand it. I have done WW in the past when everything was done with exchanges so thats kind of where my mind set is.

Oh I feel so bad for them! That is horrible. Not the way you want to start a relaxing vacation at all! . . .
Our friends' luggage did not arrive before they left today on a 15 night cruise. I just took them to the Port of L.A.

I suggest you not compromise on what you want. I also find it interesting that you got an orphan call so soon. I bet you would get another in a realitivly (sp) short time too.

Kelly - this sounds eerily similar to my story - sorry to ask, was it to a fire? I also lost everything I ever owned, and I mean EVERYTHING, 14 years ago to a wildfire, and you are so right, no-one and nothing can ever takeaway my memories, that are especially poignant now since both my parents have since died from the stress of that event - but they are always in my heart. Now I try to make wonderful memories for my little girl...

Yes, I lost my home in a fire. It was a Xmas tree fire. the power strip under the tree sparked.

Oh, here's another cool thing. Tyler's karate teacher was talking with me on the phone about some things, and we got around to some things Tyler does in class (the licking his sleeves & other things), and he wanted to assure me that there are many kids in their classes with similar issues and even a few Aspberger kids and he wanted me to know that they work around whatever differences each child has. I told him the official diagnosis, sensory processing disorder, and told him nobody I know has ever heard of it (including me until recently), and he told me his brother was diagnosed with that when he was around Tyler's age! I couldn't believe it! He told me the doctors told his family the best way to explain it to somebody unfamiliar with it is that it's a combination of ADHD-like and OCD-like symptoms. That's a PERFECT description! It feels good to have a way to explain it to people now AND to know of somebody else who's dealt with this. :goodvibes

Did I tell you that we've been teaching at a school in West LA for all kinds of processing disorders for the past two weeks?

I hope they get their luggage soon. I imagine they put a lot of thought and care into what they packed as we all do and cannot imagine how they must have felt to be told it was all lost for the moment! Heck I have bought tons of stuff just for the cruise and have taken my time looking for good deals as I knew I needed to buy a lot. I imagine they are now shopping the best they can but they cannot deal hunt when time is so short. I will think good thoughts for them and hope everything shows up soon.
The luggage did not arrive, and British Airways cannot locate it.

Our friends bought what they could yesterday and this morning, but it doesn't come close to replacing what they originally packed.

I do not bring formal, semi formal, tropical, pirate or anything special. And I will be wearing things more than twice. So I think you will be just fine.:thumbsup2

Am I the only one who really doesn't notice what anyone is wearing? For me to take notice of an outfit it would have to be extremely outstanding. Either really beautiful or really horrible. I honestly wouldn't notice if someone came to dinner barefoot.:confused3

Hope I'm not scaring my tablemates. I do shower and my clothes are clean. :teeth:

Nice clothes that blend in really do go unnoticed. As long as you are clean you will be fine. :rotfl2:

HEY EVERYONE,
Please send any answers you have to JLSE50 and me, so that it can be posted on the site. Pj

Me and Susie SSnyder

I come from a family like this, 2 sets of 2 daughters. My older sisters and I aren't friends. My sister Lee and I are ~3 year apart and are very close.
I started my family late @ 33 so couldn't do that many and had hard pregnancies so we stopped at 2. It's perfect for us.
I think every family decides that what they have are perfect, it's nice that way, dontchathink? ;)

You're absolutely right... I started at 40, so there was only 1!

Who said I missed the call re: the upgrade? Maybe I just conveniently ignored it - given the financial fiasco this cruise is already costing. In fact, I had half a mind to call and ask if we could just get our money back altogether.

OK - I'll be fine sleeping in the doghouse for this one - but so be it.
