Holly - do you think Tyler will still go to bed early/on time on the cruise?
Yup. It's pretty much out of his control. I used to wonder what the heck his deal was, but after the occupational therapist described it to me, I totally understand now. She said that with this sensory processing disorder, it's like his body is on "high alert" non-stop and he just gets physically exhausted. She says to imagine every sensation we feel normally, whether it be sound or heat or visual stimulus, and multiply that by 10, nonstop, all day, and that's what he feels all day. She says he's just plain worn out. When she described it that way, it made sense to me.

Great idea! No way am I going anywhere tonight. It's getting really bad out there. The snow that's falling is icy, so I can only imagine how slippery the roads must be.

OH< Holly, that is why we moved to Florida from Illinois......sleet, snow, ice, sleet snow, ice.

Who has ordered from old navy.com. I want to get a few items and my sizing is only on line now. I am going to have it sent to the hotel pre-cruise, and want to judge when to order. How long should the $5 shipping take to get to florida?

Pj

I order from Oldnavy all the time for the kids. It is pretty decent shipping time and I would say 4 or 5 days. I usually have huge orders and they have split them up into two bags before and one has come a day before the other. Since it is all the same company they show up in huge bags that say GAP on them.

My husband, Chuck and my son, Mike are actially interested in what's happening on the DIS BOARDS! Chuck thinks we are all nuts, of course, but he desn't want to be left out.

He even wants to join the LOST BEER BOYS!!!!! He is not a joiner! But of course that includes beer...........:rolleyes1
;) That's funny! Well, Tyler has been referring to you all as "our" Disney friends, just because he hears me telling him about you all. :thumbsup2

I am going to try and have both dinner seatings have wigged out people! Early and Late dining people who is in with the wig thing?
I'm going to try my hardest to get a wig, so I might be in! :goodvibes I'm late dinner, but waitlisted for early. :thumbsup2

Yes we have stateroom 7638, right next to the "secret balcony" at the very back of the ship. It's a family stateroom. But it's NOWHERE as big as that one on the Carnival Freedom! But it does have a wide door and a roll-in shower and a raised toilet with handrails all the way around, so that is convenient. Also the coffee table raises and lowers so a person can use it as a table to eat at in a wheelchair, if necessary. We have stayed in it before, so we know what to expect. Connie

Connie

That is nice and good to know that he got the same room. Great for wheelchair :thumbsup2

Just a quick pop in to say hi! Got out of work early today, office closed at noon. Not happy about that because that means I lose a few hours of pay. But, making lemonade out of lemons, I went up to help a short while in Tyler's class (it's always fun to watch those little munchkins in action). Rushed home because my dad & stepmom are coming for a short visit. I didn't get my cleaning done yet, so they're going to freak when they see my house. They've never seen it messy and this is beyond messy. Oh well....life goes on. Will work on cleaning tonight in between catching up with you chatty folks! :)

Oh dear, not your fault, hope you get the pay for goodwill and oh dear cos stupid weather again. don't worry about cleaning done as you are same as me too I am working and have two childrens too they make it messy grrrrrrr.
Have a lovely Easter.

Well it was a beautiful but nithering day today. We went for a longish way round walk to town and had coffee and a bacon butty. Then we looked around and shopped a bit before I went to the hairdressers. 2 hours there and we met up again for the first of my birthday treats - afternoon tea at Betty's. Yummy. It is a bit of a posh cafe and we have been a few times, but the actual 'afternoon tea' is always too expensive - hence the treat as I have always wanted to indulge.

4 finger sandwiches, choice of smoked salmon, Yorkshire ham, free range egg and mayonnaise, or roast chicken. Then a scone, jam and clotted cream. Followed by 3 mini cakes. All served beautifully on a 3 tiered china cake thingy! Tea was loose tea served in silver teapot. So very civilised!:) Let me tell you that it costs £14-95 - probably around $35.:rolleyes1

cos

Queue was outside the door when we arrived and it took us 25 mins to get a table. Getting in practice for WDW!!!!!!!!!

Now the clouds have rolled in and we are preparing to wake up to snow tomorrow.

Marilyn

I have been there long times ago and I am surprised that it still there as my friend took me to Bradford and stayed there for a week (I was homesick lol) then her rich uncle took us to York for the day and tooke us to Betty and he paid for it :rolleyes1

then I won weekend from Debenhams so I took my husband to York for weekend that time we were engaged. I took him to Betty.

I never forget it, I know it is expensive but nice old fashion with waitress wore black and white clothes.

Sounds pretty much like today! We've had snow, sun, rain and sleet, but don't think we've had the hail. Yet.

At lunch times I took kids to burger king at Big W, it was hail just for few minutes that is all!!

Is that the same Betty's as in York? Yum!

Yes
Sorry, I've lost track, but when exactly is your birthday?

I am laughing Marilyn type out small so I type out big one It is on Sunday :rotfl2:

Monica

I haven't seen the photos from our mini-meet yet. Were they really too scary to post? :scared1:

I am still waiting for it :rolleyes1

My dad & stepmom just left after a short visit. It took them THREE HOURS to get here when it only takes 1 1/2! I guess where they live the snow is worse and of course, when you're driving right as it's starting, the roads are worse. I told them to wait until tomorrow if it looked bad. When they weren't here at 1:30 when they'd planned on being here, I figured they'd just decided to wait until tomorrow. Now they have to drive all the way back...I hope it doesn't take them 3 hours again. That's too much driving for an hour visit. :sad2:

Yes, sad because stupid weather

I've been talking about this cruise for so long I am not sure the girls even think we are really going!!

I am same as you, I had been talking lot about this crusie, I am looking forward to as think kids start exciting now.

and I have had the luggage out since christmas so they probably just think i am nuts!

No, you are not silly, i am thinking to take the luggage out now lol but first I sort out the wardrobe - kids tomorrow.

That sounds lovely Holly. One of the sad things these days is that children grow up without knowing the Easter story and have no idea what it is about.

I wonder myself sometimes!!

Well, I know when I was little I went to church every Sunday. Nowaday, everything changed but my childrens went to church yesterday with school to listen about Easter. Keith said he enjoyed it.

Marilyn

What kind of church that you are going to? I hope you don't mind me asking you.

the girls are sugared up. They had an egg hunt today and came home with bags of candy........

I can't remember if I told everybody about our HCWA "Bunny in the Park" event last week......we had about 5,000 plastic Easter eggs with candy in them (the Egg hunt was FREE) and we sold tickets for crafts, face painting, games, bounce houses, raffles, and food. We had vendors, too. We raised about $6,000 in one day, not even counting the vendors! All of the money goes to our schools, Orlando women's shelter, Osceola county crisis nursery, etc

It's so much work, but so much fun......everybody gets candy candy candy cany! We also do it in the fall, only the theme then is a costume contest ( no egg hunt!O

We get the Chimichangas at the Matterhorn cart.

They have the best corn dogs and my personal favorite is the broasted chicken dinner at the Plaza Inn. It's a lot of food for one person, but it's delicious - and the mashed potatoes!

I'm going to try my hardest to get a wig, so I might be in! :goodvibes I'm late dinner, but waitlisted for early. :thumbsup2

U mean you still at late dinner?

waitlised for ealry?

Are you wearing the wig? Me erm I think I need drink first then I wear it ha ha

OH< Holly, that is why we moved to Florida from Illinois......sleet, snow, ice, sleet snow, ice.
I had FULLY planned on moving the heck out of Michigan. The plan was to get through law school and head somewhere warmer. But I've never handled heat too well, so I wouldn't have moved all the way to Florida....not sure where. But everything has changed of course now that I have Tyler. I'd never move him away from his dad. Never. SO.....when he's done with school, then I might move. Hmm.....maybe he'll go to college somewhere warm and I'll just move there! :thumbsup2

I am joining the cruise with my Dad, He has always wanted to see the Panama canal and this seemed like the perfect choice to do that. I can hardly wait!!

Is there a total of Disboarders who are going to be on the ship??

Welcome to the thread/cruise!

Shots Around the Ship
A Stem to Stern Extravaganza!

First of all, thank you to everyone for participating in the surveys to nail down the dates, time and place for this social merry making event.

Here are the results:

Date: May 11th

Starting Time: 10:00 PM

Location: Diversions

So, now we know what day, when and where this will be taking place!

Frankly, I have never hit the clubs on the ship, so I am really looking forward to sampling them all!

Good thing is it is the evening after Castaway Cay and the next day is at sea! No waking up early for excursions!

.

Hi Ian

I hope you don't mind I am asking you a question - what kind of Shots Around the Ship?

We will come around if my friend want to come along that is fine but I need to know what is it cos We are Scottish ha ha

Of course, we love drinking but not sure what is that ;)

We are listed as "late Seating" I don't know if that means 8, 8:15 or 8:30. I also don't know my rotation. Connie
