No way! We are flying Delta......I am really bummed on this luggage issue....Dleta also charges $80. (i think) if you are over 50 pounds.....

I am sure we will need a dry run this time.

Ok, last October I was over by about 6lbs, and Jetblue charged me $20 or $25, I could have had another 14lbs for that amount. On the way home, no charge, don't know why on that, but I was happy. I don't mind paying that seeing what is happing at other airlines. Yes, my flights have changed, but by less then 30 mins and my direct flight is still direct. On the way home I have 38" of leg room, this was an extra $20 (shorter flights it is $10), well worth it for the 5 hr+ red eye flight to JFK form LGB. And although Jetblue gets blasted for delays they are one of the few that will give credit for a time delay due to any reason.

Went to the library and pick up travel books on Aruba and Mexican Coast ports.

Checked our flights on Southwest and they had dropped $90 dollars!!!!:cool1:

NPR just rean a story about JetBlue - they are charging extra for seats with legroom.....$20+ extra...

Geee....DH is 6-4 and we try to get leg room.......

But even the regular seats still have 34" of leg room, more then most carriers in economy class.

I have also heard a rumor that Delta is pulling out of MCO. No confirmation or when but it could be interesting if it is before this cruise. Thank goodness we booked with DCL and that would their worry, not mine. I can tell you, if we were leaving from and returning to FL we would definitely be driving.

Carol

Carol, I read this too, Jetblue is opening Orlando as a Key City, training center, boarding for staff and it will be a Hub city to the South. They are moving into Airside 1, which is where Delta is right now.

I didn't think I would be able to get online that day so put my request through DU.
On the day I did get online and could've booked the exact room I wanted, but thought I'd better wait for DU. I didn't hear from them until after work on 1st Feb, by which time I was seriously regretting not having booked myself when I had the chance. But DU got me a Cat 5 for the same price I could've booked a Cat 6, so it worked out in the end.

I do wonder just how many people on this cruise booked through DU.

We booked it ourselves online on the opening day. It is a funny story. Well NOW it is a funny, on the day it wasn't.

We got up and went online and my wife was busy booking it all up and everything. We even got the rooms we wanted. Got it all booked up and applied the $200 deposit. Then I looked at what she had done.

She had booked us on the Transatlantic cruise for May 2007!

So then she tries to get on the phone to DCL to get it changed. I was not willing to book the Panama Cruise until this one got straightened out as we weren't sure what we would be on the hook for if it couldn't get straightened out. Meanwhile I checked out the PC cruise and could get the room I wanted, but Shannon had not yet gotten through to DCL to get the Transatlantic one cleared up. So those rooms went bye bye. I'm continuing to watch as rooms get booked up by others, all the while Shannon is sitting on hold with DCL.

She ends up having to take the morning off work because she was still on hold several hours later.

In the end it all worked out and we got booked into the correct cruise and cancelled the Transatlantic, however we ended up being GTY.

We then transferred it to DU and were given a room assignment on Jan 18, 2008.

We laugh now about it, but on the day things were pretty heated in our basement!!

DH will be wearing Hawaiian shirts for most dinners as well......

I think I will pack the dive gear and the formal night and other themed nights and weigh bags then decide what else we will wear - hey who said we can't be pirates for more than 1 night???

When I did a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands last summer, we were diving at 3 of the 4 ports. My friend brought all her own gear, even wet suit, while I rented everything (except my own prescription mask and Suunto Mosquito computer). To each his own, but I was sure glad not to be schlepping all that gear back and forth, rinsing, trying to find a place to put it to dry, etc.

Have you considered renting the gear?

Thanks to everyone who posted about camera/laptop bags. DH called from a Wolf yesterday at lunch and said, 'I'm looking at these bags'. I told him the crazy cruisers had some info and thru the Amazon lowepro compudaypack page found a link to a seller in town. DH went today and got the Tamrac Adventure 9, barely used, for not too much more than the lowepro.

Was this Sell N Send? The item was shipped from Co. We ordered from them through Amazon. :thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone.....Angie, I caught your bug. I spent the entire day yesterday with my head down because it hurt so much. The stomach wasn't cooperating either......

Oh Deb, I hope you feel better soon. I had that last winter, but so far this winter I've been well (knock wood!).

Oh, Deb, I hope you know I am not laughting AT you either, just trying to make a silly joke!

Oh I know....absolutely! We could all use a little more laughter in our day! I was right there laughing with you.

Ah, a little bit longer then. A nice trip to get the tan going. I'm going to be snow white!

well this must be allergies, even though I don't think I have any, since the dayquil is NOT working!

I previously posted that we experienced a one hour delay in boarding the Magic because a Customs dog alerted to a checked bag belonging to a disembarking passenger. Disembarking passengers were delayed as well.

Customs treated it as a bomb scare, until it was determined to be food.

Someone else here posted they had a similar experience on the Wonder.

The lesson: Don't put food into checked luggage when you disembark. You might cause people to miss their flights home.

Woody

Thanks for the heads up. Guess we'll just have to force ourselves to eat everything. What a hardship. :lmao:

It was a sealed pre-packaged item.

Hey, Customs dogs alert to the strangest things. Why take the risk?

Woody

I agree. There is nothing I have to have that desperately. If I was that particular about what I had to have to eat or drink, I would never travel. It's not worth the hassle.
