We try to leave notes on our whiteboard on our cabin door, but if all else fails, we can usually find each other on the starboard side of deck 8 at the tables by the rail of the ship. Patrick and Chuck like to hang out there, because Patrick likes to listen to his music and watch the water.

The other thing we do when we are on the ship is we actually have a magnetic white board (a gift from one of our DCL cruises) and we actually put it on the inside of our stateroom on the backside of the door. Then when Jamie, Robert and I are all doing our own thing, we just write down when we leave the stateroom where we are at and what time we will be back so we know where to find each other. That has worked really well within our own family and for us it has been much easier than carrying walkie talkies all around the ship and trying to find a channel where no one else is talking.

If I'm looking for my family, I just go look at the inside of our stateroom door!

Yes, that's what we do , too, and the room steward keeps the ice bucket filled for our wine and champagne!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everybody!

We are going to Down Town Disney this afternoon to celebrate at Raglan Road. We saw Seven Nations at Pleasure Island last night and I took Patrick to a street party put on by O'Doughrety's in St. Clloud on Saturday. :thumbsup2

What a wonderful way to celebrate!!!!!

It was nice seeing Makin memories yesterday. My dd had fun at the movies and lunch. I ran home to get ready for my event last night. Had a blast. I love the software they were using and picked up some bargains at their auction. I am an auction junkie.

It was good to see you guys too! So what did you buy at auction?

I also don't think there will be many cancellations if any at this point! Wouldn't you lose all your money?

If I recall, you can "push your cruise" to another date and not lose the money.

Or perhaps those with unfortunate events have travel insurance and might cancel?

Hum, wonder if travel insurance covers nice events, like a new baby?

Nan, our DHs should get together for a lunch before our cruise. I bet they would have a lot in common. DH is getting busier now - what a relief. He actually should have worked today, but we both are feeling a little under the weather.

I've started my excel packing list - actually got if from a DISer that put together all the best tips as well as packing list info from the packing list thread. I just added a sheet with the kids rules - thought they were pretty good:

1. You must never, ever go into any other stateroom ever.
2. You must never, ever allow anyone into our stateroom ever.
3. You must check in on the marker board, by page or by phone. I have to know where you are at all times.
4. You must appear at pre-arranged meeting times and places.
5. I will need an introduction to your friends. (I really mean they have to just tell me who they will be with but if I'm on Deck 10 reading, I'll want them to stop up to say hello.)
6. You may not enter the elevators.
7. You must stay together.
8. You can only hang out in approved areas, such as the clubs, promenade lounge or pool area.
9. No randomly walking around or exploring.
10. No running or yelling.
11. Absolutely no Ding, Dong, Ditch (ringing doorbells and running).
12. You must eat dinner with us. (I’ll probably let them eat in the clubs later in the week but don’t want to tell them in advance).
13. You must participate is several family excursions or outings of my choice.
14. You must be in the room by 9PM unless you are with me.
15. You may not eat anything within 2 hours of dinner.
16. If you think I will think it is a bad idea, it is.
17. Any infractions of the above rules will result, without argument, in the removal of your sign out privileges.
18. No going anywhere near the railings and no throwing stuff overboard.
19. No room service without prior approval.

No running up and down the staircases. Walk up and down them like an adult. No sliding down the staircase handrails.

No riding around in the wheelchairs that are on the ship for emergency use only!

Take a deep breath! Remember to exhale and breathe, it will all be fine. It can be overwhelming and natural for you to feel like retreating but your friends won't let you retreat. We will come find you. Don't worry about the picking up the gift I will get them all! I was feeling the same way until I remember how well everything went last year and I had a really great time. :) Please don't do anything stupid like CANCEL the trip!

Oh Steph won't cancel. We know where to find her......:rotfl:

HI EVERYBODY! Just a quick pop-in to say hi. No internet at home, and no time to catch up right now at work. Super busy today, but I have a couple minutes now. Just didn't want you all to forget me! ;)

I also think Linda is going to mark all staterooms of Disers in lime green on the deck plans.

Tony (Aphoenix) is going to do that for me and send me the file and it will be in the mini-nav

Ok, so I had to go see my grandmother in the ICU last night. She fell off her front porch going after my cousins toddler. She caught him and he is ok but she hit her head and had to have 19 staples. She opened her eyes yesterday and is responsive and starting to breathe on her own. They said it she hadn't caught the baby he would not have survived. She aspirated in the ambulance. Everyone is trying to keep their sprirts up. They are trying to bring her off the sedation but she keeps trying to pull out her IVs. This happened Ths. night and I found out last night b/c my dad couldn't remember my phone number. My Uncle now has my number. I am going to the Augusta GA today at 4. Ok sorry that was so sad.

prayers, pixie dust   :wizard:

Hugs for you, Jill, and prayers for Grandma!

Nice relaxing morning, but now it's time to hit the shower and hit the streets. Shopping and a movie on dock for today, though having a bit of trouble getting the sisters to commit to a plan.......

.

sounds like fun plans.

the tubes are "no big deal" but he will be under anesthesia and that is creepy for me. The last surgery for Wil he had a hard time coming out of it and lots of pain for that day. This was to remove the tubes (he has had 3 sets, 2 fallout kind and 1 perm) they ended up giving him morphine for it before we left for the day. I think they didn't pre-dose him with pain med before surgery. I hope we are done with the tube days. We've lasted this season, this is the first free winter since he was 18 months old.
Poor Wil....no fun. :guilty: Glad you finally had a winter without those worries. Tyler has only had 2 ear infections ever (the 2nd one being just last month), so he's been very lucky in that regard. :thumbsup2

The pediatrician tested his hearing today and it was much better than the past tests, and she says there's less fluid, but still some there and his eardrums are still not moving like they should, so she wants him to continue Claritin every day at bedtime for 6 more weeks. But since that does seem to be drying up the fluid a bit, she said no tubes, unless the fluid is still there at the next 6 week check. So.....good news today.

that's good news for Tyler...you have been very lucky on the ear infection front! Our house was a magnet for them it seemed!

Claritin works for Liam too

He was in senior kindergarten and had at least 5 ear infections in the first 4 months he was in school (all caught from his classmates)

That and the poor quality of the teachers in his school made us decide to home school him....It's been 4 years and he has not had one ear infection since

how did Liam catch ear infections? They aren't contaigous as far as I know?

Children's ears are much different than an adults...their canal is flat, a prefect breeding ground for bacteria and water, etc.

I can't bring up our reservation on DCL site. The page won't move from when I input my number and b/date - just says 'error on page' at bottom.

Can you all get yours?

Can't get into mine either - says password or email is incorrect - which I know it isn't.

I wouldn't worry too much. Alot of people getted bored pretty fast and there is tons of deck area. Between deck 10, deck 9, deck 4, deck 7 and the verandahs, there was plenty of room to look out anytime you wanted. Most of the young kids were to the Mickey pool as soon as they finished breakfast!

I can't really imagine too many children being interested over much with the PC - at least after the first view. They have better things to do I think.

Hi Holly - I won't forget you. It is lovely to hear from you.
