Wow, that was something. After being on the TA, we loved the sea days so much that I can't imagine complaining about the sea days. As for CC it is fun, but DCL is pretty good about changing plans and having something fun to do... as long as their time isn't wasted with people yelling at them.

We love sea days too.
And, at risk of sounding really weird, I will admit that we are not particularly bothered about CC. We appreciate how well done it is, but we are not beach people. And we've both lived in the Caribbean (DH spent 6 months in Belize, I spent 12 months in St Kitts) so it's not that big a deal to us.

I can see how people would be disappointed, but it's a risk you take with any cruise, that you may not be able to visit the ports planned.

Although if we can't go through the Panama Canal I would be seriously disappointed. Except the long way around could be fun I suppose, and would entail lots more time onboard!

I don't know...I think some people aren't as good at "planning" for the various stages of a vacation. Others (such as most of us!) are quite good at it. We all have different talents, and I suppose that is one factor of marriage - appreciating each other's talents! I know my husband can pack himself, but he is at complete loss when he tries to pack for the kids. He just doesn't envision all the various "events" - just day and night is what he sees.

Bravo!! Agree completely! Each gives 80%, takes 20% and uses those talents to the best of your ability and you get a wonderful, happy marriage! I pack most of the stuff, check what he packs clothing wise. He takes care of the electronics and sees to it that I have a phone charger!

ugh, sometimes my sister annoys me. I was complaining about money, which I seem to be doing a lot of lately...and she says well, if you didn't take all these trips you would have some money so don't sit and complain to me about it....I said what trips, she says well ESPN weekend and the cruise you could have cancelled....I hung up on her. She is 23 living at home with only her car payment to speak of.
She just ticked me off. Doesn't help that I am not feeling well.

We also are not sunbathers, have never been in the pools on the ship. I will take at least 2 swimsuits for each of us though since we do need them for the Rainforest and I plan to go daily! Dennis also does not wear shorts so you will see him around the ship in his khaki pants taking photos, playing cards, etc.

I don't do shorts either, have never found them comfortable, so Dennis won't be the only one in long pants.

We were stationed on Oahu for two years, our base housing faced the ocean. I've had my fill of sand as well.

Mary & Patrick - so glad to hear you're back safely, but sorry you ended up getting sick. I really enjoyed our meet, and can't wait to see you again in May. I didn't want to post any pics w/o your ok - so if you want me to I will, if not....I will be the only one to be able to find you on the 10th

Monica - it depends how I look on the photos! I hate having my picture taken. What the heck, post away. Frighten people.

We'll only have to speak for people to have a pretty good idea who we are. There never seem to be many English accents on the Magic.

We loved meeting you and both look forward to seeing you again SOON.

I don't mean to rock the boat but rather keep people informed ---

A very good and reliable friend just came off an 3 day Wonder cruise and reports -

"DCL has decided that no matter how many different addresses, people or whatever type of room you have…. Only ONE Castaway Cay gift period.

Also, the DCL Castway Cay lanyard given at check in no longer had pins."

Since I always share a cabin with someone it now means one of us will go home without the return cruiser gift. That is disapointing. When you have two or more cruisers from different households it is difficult to share the gift. Its a shame too, they make those CC gifts so desirable. There has never been one I didn't want to keep.

I wish/hope they would rethink this new policy.

They have been out of pins since last November. New lanyards, but no more pins.

On the CC items it is only 1 per stateroom. There is also a new CC item. It is no longer the blue and white bag. However, if you have unrelated parties, can you still ask at Guest Services and it depends on who is there as to what kind of response you get. SO keep asking.

Yes, I had a little fun with the Google map! I check in from time to time, but you guys talk so much, it's hard to keep up!

A reintroduction - I am Brian, and am sailing with my friend Debbi. We are in the same stateroom that we had during the 2005 Westbound Repo - 6085 (The same cabin Holly thought she had booked when the cruise opened up last January). I will be turning 41 on May 18th, and Debbi will be turning the big 4 0 the next day.

I am so looking forward to the cruise. Even have my calendar ready:

The last cruise I took 4300 pictures. I think with the extra day, I should be able to break that mark.

It will be so fun sailing with you again! We were right up there with you. Took over 4,000 photos also. We took over 5,000 in the Mediterranean last year! But then, I deleted a bunch once we got home and got them on the computer!

I have friend (who is still hoping to take this cruise) who had a dream that we went to sleep after Aruba and ended up in Alaska because the Panama Canal was blocked. So we took the other way around to the west coast and ended up in Alaska. In her dream she was the only one bothered by the detour.

One of my goals is to go into the pool this trip.....never made it yet.....
