Things have started to calm down a little.

First, the most disappointing part of the cruise for the girls was that SOMEONE forgot to pack our fish extender. They were EXTREMELY sad. Thank you to those that still left gifts - they were greatly appreciated!

Our biggest disappointment was that we didn't get to meet very many people. Probably only a handful and that was just briefly. This was mostly do to the fact that our daughters went to the kids club a combined ZERO times! They hit us early with "You guys work so much, we don't get to spend enough time with you. We want to spend every minute with you"! This was said with little puppy dog faces and it actually made us melt. So, that's what we did, and we enjoyed every minute. Though, we spent more time in Studio Sea than you can imagine. With that said, it would have been nice to meet and spend time with some of you. Think it is also a little more difficult if you aren't on the same dining rotation. I don't know if we had that same rotation as anyone else.

Luckily we are back onboard the Magic in four short months for an Eastern. This one we will be joined by 18 close friends. The girls will have a bunch of their friends with them, so we probably won't see much of them this time.

We want to thank everyone for sharing their family stories and helpful hints over that last year and a half. We truly enjoyed reading and learning.

It looks like quite a few of us will be cruising together again to Tortola in September of 2009. Perhaps we will actually get to meet some of you then.

Wishing you only the best.
were you guys on deck 2?

Hi Nan,

I have a dr's appt on Tues (to go over blood work done PRIOR to the cruise) but hopefully I won't need to ask him for any meds. I also don't plan to go out of the house this weekend.

I've got some cute pics of Molly, and you & Molly - will post soon.

Tell Molly that it was great to meet her.....and we'll figure out some time when she & I can go riding :thumbsup2

good girl, stay in and rest.

can't wait to see pictures :thumbsup2

Ian, it would be the best reason ever for a reunion. What could be better then a wedding and reunion at the same time. Just think, you haven't even set a date and you already have tons of RSVP from you Cal Dis family.:thumbsup2

On another note, today was my first weight in. I gave myself a 10 lb's up limit, and good news, I was under. Only up 8.6 lbs:woohoo:

Good job. Now we can eat at our BBQ!

And this is how I'll remember you always

Ok not going to quote that picture, but WTH, was I trying to catch the butterflies with my mouth???:confused3 :rotfl2:

You were sooooo excited about the butterflies (I think). The emotions are why we love you best. Hey where is that picture of us crying on the last night?

::yes:: heeeee get to use that little smilie again :rotfl2:

I'm glad this weekend is busy for us, every open moment Wilson says, I miss my friends, when are we going to see them again.

it began at a pool with a dole whip...swimming and food, likely culprits ::cop:

That night seems so long ago. I'm crying again.

Man I miss the Magic! I can't believe it's been almost a week already since they made us get off. I sailed with my roommate, his parents and Monica (mishoe01). Everyone was amazing - from our wonderful stateroom host Dewa from the Phillipines, to the cruise staff (props to Luke, Ed, Melita, Natalie & Ponz – that boy can sing!), to the dining staff.

Ciao Romano from the Phillipines was our head server during the late seating, and stopped by every night to see how we were doing. Grissell from Peru :worship: was our assistant server – she knew what we wanted to drink by the second night and had our drinks ready each night for the rest of the cruise. Our server Alonso was from Costa Rica, and blew us away with his incredible guest service. He was professional and courteous, and kept us in stitches from laughing so hard almost every time we saw him. His reactions and facial expressions were hilarious! If there was ever a problem with our meal, he would correct it or find something else for us. On previous cruises I always ordered the fried Camembert cheese as an appetizer. When I asked him about it, he told me that it had been removed during the last menu change. The very next night, a plateful of them was sitting on the table waiting for us!

On the last morning he didn’t show up to serve for breakfast; the server from the table next to us filled in. It was then that we found out from another guest that he had been fired! We were told that he had forgotten to bring a guest her ice cream on the early dining towards the beginning of the cruise and that she had it in for him ever since, even after having herself, her husband and their parents moved to a different table. After having him serve us for 15 nights, I can’t imagine that forgetting to bring desert was anything more than a simple accident (which I know he would have quickly corrected as he had done for me) or that he would ever do anything intentionally mean or vindictive.

I am writing to DCL to inform them of my dismay that they would be so quick to fire someone who was the epitome of the best Cast Member over something so seemingly small :furious:. Although I admit that I never witnessed the situation myself, I did get to know him over the 15 nights of the cruise and just can’t think of anything he could or would have done that would warrant being thrown off the ship so quickly after 9 years of service. Unfortunately, I can only imagine that this guest was simply a miserable, selfish person who can never be satisfied no matter how hard someone tries.

After hearing what happened, we were all physically sick to our stomachs – I couldn’t even eat my breakfast when it was served. We had a hard time enjoying Disneyland later that day after debarking. If any of you has ever had Alonso from Costa Rica and was impressed with his service, please send letters on his behalf to Disney Cruise Line as well.

were you guys on deck 2?

Yes we were - just a little ways down from you guys. Someone wrote something about our beloved Ducks on our door and then put "Go Gators"! We know that there were a couple of Gator fans onboard, but the proximity leads us to believe that it could have been . . . . . . . . .

Hi Leslie, glad to see you checking in.
I caught ya near the end one day when you headed out and say hi to you at the pool, remember?

Ah, I do remember. Now I can place a face with a name. Thank you for saying hello. Our entire family tends to be on the shy side. Well, I shouldn't say that for Jenna, she kind of forces us to open up a little. Kayla wouldn't look at our servers when they talked to her - even after two weeks.

How awful to ruin his career over something so petty.

We're really not kidding about getting hitched in California too. We're trying to figure out when to do it. It would a great excuse for a meet-up, wouldn't it?

Depending on when it is Matt and I would LOVE to come. I am trying to convince him we need to back to CA to see what we missed. This would be a perfect reason to go back!!!!!

I ended up leaving work today at 2pm - feel like I'm hacking up a lung. Plus my throat is burning every time I cough.

Loving seeing all the pics - I will post something soon I promise!

Ian - that would be really cool if you & Sukie get married in CA too - too bad I wouldn't be able to make it......we'll just have a reception/party here in Orlando the next time you come down here :thumbsup2

Nan - love the pic of Molly - she looks beautiful!
I want to know what had V so happy & excited! Love the expression!!!

Oh, you are ill too now. Take care.

I can't believe that - sounds just awful and so sad. The rules are very strict aren't they? Poor guy. I hope your email makes a difference.

ok - you people take the cruise and then forget all about our thread.....do you guys have jobs?
I'm here! Ya'll should already know you're stuck with me hanging around. As long as there's a thread and somebody else posting, I'll be here! ;)

And perhaps inlcude Northern California in that trip???

Miss you guys!!

Wanted to let you and all the other DISers know that we are closing down our Wine Shop this weekend... for good.:sad2: We will more than likely still be selling wine on our website, unless we can sell it all this weekend.

We want to thank you and John and our other DIS friends for your support. We just couldn't survive the economy, bad landlord, and other issues.

We hope to see you all soon!!

We are booked for Tortola in June of 2009. Can't do September as Alex will be starting High School:scared1: (Just shoot me now...)

Hope you enjoy Vegas!!! Wish we were there with you!

Karen, Ted and Alex
Oh no! Karen, I'm so sad to hear about your wine store.

Oh Monica., I'm suffering with jetlag badly.:( When we come back from Florida we have few problems - just tiredness, but this time the extra 3 hours time difference must have made a mark. I'm wide awake. It is actually 2.40am, the dis clock is wrong.

Sorry that the time changes are causing you problems...but atleast you're using your time awake for a good cause :rotfl2: (DISing)

Jackie, I'm going to be dog-sitting next week and will down in the valley part of the time. I'll call you--maybe we can get together?

I just renewed my annual pass so I'm up for a Ship of Thieves DL Reunion meet! Wish I lived an hour away instead of 6 hours away!

Yes, lets try to get together. Just alert me as to when, so I don't plan to work late that night.

SO.....how much is that AP going for right now? Wondering if I should really have one again...since I get a 5th week of vacation starting next year...AND....if I had someone to travel with and share hote (time share points?) with, and there are new west coast friends to play with too, etc, etc......:rolleyes1
