Man I miss the
Magic! I can't believe it's been almost a week already since they made us get off. I sailed with my roommate, his parents and Monica (mishoe01). Everyone was amazing - from our wonderful stateroom host Dewa from the Phillipines, to the cruise staff (props to Luke, Ed, Melita, Natalie & Ponz that boy can sing!), to the dining staff.
Ciao Romano from the Phillipines was our head server during the late seating, and stopped by every night to see how we were doing. Grissell from Peru

was our assistant server she knew what we wanted to drink by the second night and had our drinks ready each night for the rest of the cruise. Our server Alonso was from Costa Rica, and blew us away with his incredible guest service. He was professional and courteous, and kept us in stitches from laughing so hard almost every time we saw him. His reactions and facial expressions were hilarious! If there was ever a problem with our meal, he would correct it or find something else for us. On previous cruises I always ordered the fried Camembert cheese as an appetizer. When I asked him about it, he told me that it had been removed during the last menu change. The very next night, a plateful of them was sitting on the table waiting for us!
On the last morning he didnt show up to serve for breakfast; the server from the table next to us filled in. It was then that we found out from another guest that he had been fired! We were told that he had forgotten to bring a guest her ice cream on the early dining towards the beginning of the cruise and that she had it in for him ever since, even after having herself, her husband and their parents moved to a different table. After having him serve us for 15 nights, I cant imagine that forgetting to bring desert was anything more than a simple accident (which I know he would have quickly corrected as he had done for me) or that he would ever do anything intentionally mean or vindictive.
I am writing to
DCL to inform them of my dismay that they would be so quick to fire someone who was the epitome of the best Cast Member over something so seemingly small

. Although I admit that I never witnessed the situation myself, I did get to know him over the 15 nights of the cruise and just cant think of anything he could or would have done that would warrant being thrown off the ship so quickly after 9 years of service. Unfortunately, I can only imagine that this guest was simply a miserable, selfish person who can never be satisfied no matter how hard someone tries.
After hearing what happened, we were all physically sick to our stomachs I couldnt even eat my breakfast when it was served. We had a hard time enjoying
Disneyland later that day after debarking. If any of you has ever had Alonso from Costa Rica and was impressed with his service, please send letters on his behalf to
Disney Cruise Line as well.
